Prelude to the Catastrophe

The ground shook.

And-

Half of the stalls collapsed.

"What the hell!" I yelled.

Dust, debris… and black?

'Soldiers?'

The soldiers were back?

My breathing increased. My heart raced.

This was bad.

Wasn't it going to take them at least a few days more?

But I didn't have time to worry about that.

They were here, and they were right there.

Smoke- the smell of burning. If I didn't act now, all this would just go to waste.

They'd worked so hard to rebuild- so hard….

I had to make a decision and I had to make it now.

'Damn!'  I ran. I ran straight for them. "Anyone who doesn't want to fight, just get the hell out of here!" I screamed and ran hard.

My stomach also rumbled.

Yeah, I shouldn't have eaten that stick of meat.

Why the hell didn't I bring my sword?

Slash!
