Timeskip next day at Juliet's house

TRAVIS' POINT OF VIEW

I finally arrived at Juliet's place, thinking of the project we will be doing if it is right or not. Somehow I think it's very dumb or maybe I'm not just used to these kind of stuffs.

I knocked the front door at their porch. Her house is quite simple, but honestly one of the good-looking houses I've ever seen in this state. Afterwards, I heard someone walking towards the door.

"You must be Travis. Please come in." a lady said as she smiled and opened the door for me while I go inside.

"I'm guessing you might be Juliet's mother?" I asked as I frowned then she closed the door.

"Definitely I am." She said as she smiled at me.

"It is very nice meeting you, Mrs. Fitzroy. Here is a homemade pie my mother made in our bakery." I said as I showed her the pie.

"Likewise to you, young man, and please send my 'thank you' to your mother." Mrs. Fitzroy smiled as she put her hands together.

"Please, let me bring the pie to our table." She said as she brought out her hands.

"Oh no please, let me bring the pie to your table." I chuckled as I backed away.

"Aww thank you, kind man." She said as she pouted then we both started walking to their dining table.

"No worries, Mrs. Fitzroy." I replied as I smiled.

As we arrived to their dining table, I slowly put the hot pie down, then started wandering their collections.

"You do have a fancy place, Mrs. Fitzroy. It's very unique." I said.

"Thank you for that, Travis. This house belongs to my grandparents several decades ago, it is one of a kind." She said as she walked to the kitchen then I chuckled.

"Oh and by the way, may I ask on where is Juliet? We are gonna do a Science project as partners for the upcoming Science month." I asked as I looked at her.

"I'm guessing, she's in her room-" She said as Juliet cutted her off.

"Hi Travis! I didn't noticed you were already here." Juliet said as I turned at her.

She is wearing a simple but fancy yellow dress with her messy bun hair. With there, I started at her like she is the prettiest girl I've ever seen.

"Oh, uh, yes I just arrived her couple minutes ago." I replied as I started blushing.

"Juliet dear, Travis brought a hot pie, do you want to eat some before you two start working on your project?" Mrs. Fitzroy asked as she walked out from the kitchen, bringing three white plates and some utensils.

"I would love to, mother, but I'm not hungry for now." Juliet replied as she smiled.

"Likewise, Mrs. Fitzroy." I replied as I looked at Mrs. Fitzroy.

"Please, call me Julia instead, I am not used to people calling me Mrs. Fitzroy." Julia chuckled.

"Oh, my apology, Julia." I chuckled back.

"Come on Travis, let's go to my room." Juliet said then I nodded and we walked upstairs to the her room.

"Your Mother is so nice." I said then she smiled.

"She definitely is." She replied then we arrived at her room.

Her room is filled with stickers, papers and more of her stuff. Honestly, it might be the most organized room I've ever seen.

"I really love your room." I complimented her as I wandered around the room while she grabbed something from her table.

"Thank you, Travis." She said as she smiled.

"Please, sit down." She said as she sat down with a book on her hand then I sat down infront of her.

"This is the book we will be using in order for us to create magic. Inside here, we have steps, ingredients, guidelines and many more." Juliet said as she showed me the book.

"Wow, may I touch it?" I asked.

"Sure, but be careful, that book belongs to my great grandparents and that is the only book left." She said as she handed me the book.

"So, we are going to create magic based on what it says in here?" I asked as I slowly opened each pages of the book.

"Not exactly, based on what mother used to tell me, there is a guardian who will helped us in making magic since they are experts." She replied.

"Great! So who is the guardian?" I asked then she sighed.

"My aunt Tia." She replied as I sighed and looked at him.

"Why, the sigh?" I asked in confusion.

"I haven't seen her ever since I was 6. My mother said, she lives several states away and she has to remain her identity a secret, that's why I haven't seen her in such a long time." She replied.

"Oh, so I guess we must go to her?" I asked in confusion.

"Well, we can. But one of the guidelines said in here that anytime when the holder is 16, she will be able to communicate with their specific guardian through the mirror, but only the guardian will be communicating the holder at first since a portal will be opened." Juliet replied as she grabbed the book and scanned over the pages then pointed at the one guideline.

"Wow, I never knew magic has some strict orders." I said then she chuckled.

"That's what I thought at first, but there's more of it." She said.

"But for us not to waste our time, we must start reading the book then afterwards, plan on what magic should do." She said then I nodded.

The both of us started reading the book, at first, it was very awkward because of the silence in the room. But afterwards, we started sharing each others' thoughts and laughter.

Aside of that, I was very amazed of the ingredients, guidelines, steps and much more in the book. Who knew that this moment right now, with the girl I fell in love with since middle school, will happen.

After several hours of reading the book, Juliet and I stopped.

"Not gonna lie, I am not a book reader kind of  guy, but I honestly enjoyed reading it." I chuckled.

"Oh wait really? You should read more often." She chuckled as well as she slowly closed the book then I nodded and smiled.

"So I was planning that the both of us will gather ideas based on what we read then we will share it tomorrow after class?" I asked as I frowned.

"You read my mind, Travis." She chuckled then we both did a high-five.

"Same place and same time?" I asked.

"I really want to, but my mother told me that she will coming home very late from work tomorrow, so I will be staying at her office after school." She sighed.

"You can come to my place. My parents gave me a spare key so that I can come home anytime I want." I said as I grabbed the key from my pocket.

"My mother won't allow me going to any boys' house until I am older enough." Juliet said as she stood up then returned her book on a shelf.

"Oh wait, we can go to a diner or any food stop nearby." She suggested as she looked back at me.

"You can go to my parents' bakery, it's just a couple miles away from our school." I said as I stood up.

"Great idea!" She said then we both chuckled.

"So is it a date?" I unexpectedly asked then her chuckle slowly fade away.

Stupid mouth. It wasn't my intention to ask her that question. Another awkward silence happened in the room, luckily Juliet's mother called Juliet.

"Juliet dear! Are you and Travis done working on your project?" Julia asked as she opened the door and all of us turned at her.

"Oh, yes mother, we just finished reading the book Aunt Tia gave to me." Juliet replied then she nodded.

"By the way Travis, me and Juliet are gonna eat dinner in a couple minutes from now, would you like to join us?" Julia asked.

"I would love to Julia, but my curfew is until 7 so I might as well go home right now." I stuttered as I replied Julia.

"Oh no worries Travis." Julia said as all of us started walking down the stairs.

We had a little talk as we went downstairs then to their front porch.

"It was very nice meeting you, Julia." I said as I smiled.

"Same to you, Travis. Please come around anytime." Julia said as Juliet looked at her then I smiled.

"Thank you for having me here, Juliet. See you tomorrow at school." I said then she smiled and waved at me, then I slowly closed the door and left their house.

As I walked home, I suddenly remembered the question I asked Juliet. I felt horrible for myself for asking those words infront of her.
