chapter 12: breakup

THIRD PERSONS' POINT OF VIEW

"So basically that happened." Juliet said as she let out a big sigh and slowly grabbed her cup of tea.

"I never knew my brother is that romantic. I've known him ever since I've been in this world, he's all sassy and mean, but to me of course." Lauren said as she put her hands together and looked at Juliet.

"I thought of the same thing too, because he is one of the most popular people in school. But I guess, we should never judge a book by its cover." Juliet said as she chuckled.

"So? What does your heart says, Miss Juliet?" Lauren asked as she smirked.

"What do you mean?" Juliet asked as she frowned.

"I mean, do you like him back? Are you planning on accepting his courtship?" Lauren asked as Juliet sipped her tea.

"You promised you won't tell Travis about this?" Juliet said as she put her cup of tea down then Lauren nodded.

"I might have felt something when we both hugged after we made our Science project. But that feeling suddenly went gone, and we both know that I like someone else." Juliet sighed.

"Right, but based on the way he spoke to you during our lunch break, he seems pretty genuine with his words." Lauren said.

"I know and now I feel bad, especially when he finds out that the guy I like is his friend." Juliet said then Lauren gasped.

"Wh-Which is?" Lauren asked as her eyes were wide open.

"R-Romeo.." Juliet replied then Lauren gasped more than awhile ago.

"Th-The shy one? The one who fainted yesterday?!" Lauren panickedly asked.

"Y-Yes, why?" Juliet asked in confusion.

Flashback 3 days ago at school

"Hi L-Lauren, can we talk?" Romeo asked as Lauren and him walked past from each other and they both stopped from walking.

"Oh hello Romeo, s-sure. Where do you want to talk?" Lauren asked as they both looked at each other.

"At the library." Romeo said then Lauren nodded and they went to the library.

"What do you want to talk about?" Lauren asked as they both arrived at the library.

"Look, please hear me out first, okay?" Romeo said then Lauren slowly nodded.

"I'm sorry for all the mistakes I did, especially the time when I left you without you knowing. Things has been tough between my family, so I had to let go of some things." Romeo apologized and sighed.

"It was our first year anniversary together and you left me nothing, but a piece of letter of you breaking up with me. You could've just approached to me, before you immediately do this." Lauren replied.

"I know, I know it's a mistake for me to do so. Please forgive me, i-it's my family we are talking about here." Romeo said as he started tearing up.

"I understand your family situation, Romeo. But do you actually think that I would just forgive you after dumping me over a stupid letter?" Lauren asked as she started crying.

"Which is why I am trying to do the right thing now and find a way to give our 'us' a shot again." Romeo said as he started crying and slowly went close to Lauren for a hug.

"This is not the only time you made a mistake, Romeo. There were multiple times before, especially last Friday when you ditched me because you have someone to meet with which I have no idea who." Lauren said in anger as she cried.

"But, I just didn't thought of it very well, and didn't tell you because I love you and I don't want anything to destroy our relationship." Lauren said as she wiped her tears and walked backwards as Romeo tried to hug her.

"Honey, I'm so sorry. Please, give me another chance to love you again and I promise I will be the best man for you." Romeo said as he cried and slowly backed away.

"You said that before when we had this kind of argument and I gave you the chance, please stop thinking of me as an advantage to give you alot of chances because I am a person too and I have problems of my own as well." Lauren said as she started sobbing.

"So, I guess th-that's a no?" Romeo sighed.

"You know how much I love you and that's how much the pain you gave towards me, so it's a clearly a no." Lauren sighed as she turned around from Romeo.

"Before I leave, I just want to say the things I haven't said before." Lauren continued as she let out a big sigh.

"I-I'm listening." Romeo said as he stuttered while looking at Lauren.

"I hope that one day your family problems will be solved anytime soon. I know it will, just trust the process." Lauren sobbed.

"Just so you know, you made me one of the happiest persons on earth. But after this conversation, I don't want to speak to you ever again. If only we aren't studying in the same school, I wouldn't want to see you ever again, so I have no choice but to avoid you at all times."

"Lastly, the next time you are in a relationship, please treat her right and not the way you treat me like the way you used to. Keep her happy, protected and of course, loved. I love you my Romeo, you are now free." Lauren said as she looked back at Romeo and forced a smile then she left.

Romeo continued to cry so hard as he watches Lauren walking out from him. He knew he made a mistake, but realized she has a point. Lauren, in the other hand, felt relieved, but continued to cry. She never knew that the love of her life would do such a thing towards her.

Present

"Lauren? Lauren, are you okay?" Juliet asked as she waved her hand infront of Lauren's face.

"Oh, yes I am." Lauren sighed as she zoned out from the flashback.

"Wait, if you like Romeo, does this mean that the guy you were with last week Friday is him?" Lauren slowly asked as she frowned.

"S-Sort of? Okay, can you please give me a straight explanation for i-?" Juliet asked in confusion then Lauren cutted her off.

"You're one of the reasons why Romeo and I broke up." Lauren said then Juliet gasped.

"Y-You and Romeo?" Juliet asked in confusion with a soft tone voice.

"Yes, w-we were once together, but suddenly everything w-went.." Lauren said then she didn't continued her sentence because of the pain she still feels.

"L-Look you don't have to continue, but I am truly sorry, I have no idea I swear." Juliet apologized as she looked and comforted at Lauren.

"Typically, I would be mad at you but you are my friend and I know that you have no idea about it which I completely understand, because we had a very private relationship." Lauren sighed.

"No, you have the right to be mad. Which is why if it's okay for you, I will leave you alone and give you peace of m-" Juliet said as she slowly stood up then Lauren cutted her off.

"Please, stay. I really need someone to be with right now." Lauren sighed as she stopped Juliet from standing up.

"If you refuse." Juliet said as she pouted and sat down.

"May I ask on what happened between you and R-Romeo last week Friday?" Lauren asked as she stuttered and looked down.

"You see, I saw him bringing one of my favorite books of all time when we walked past each other then we planned on reading the book in the library." Juliet said.

"But when we met up at the library, a couple minutes later, something happened to him."

"The book fell and we both went down to grab it, apparently I accidentally touched his wrist which made him had a headache. But it was gone after a few minutes, and when we started reading I accidentally touched his wrist again then his headache happened again."

"D-Did you know that?" Juliet asked as she frowned then Lauren sighed.

"No, I might touched his wrist before but nothing happened. I-I did notice that he always wear some kind of bracelet, he says it is very unique, I even wore it o-once." Lauren explained.

"Oh, th-that's weird. Look, I am not an expert of this kind of things, but I know one day you will overcome the pain you feel right now. I know it is not easy to move on from someone you've loved ever since, but always trust the process." Juliet comforted Lauren as Lauren smiled.

"And again, I apologize for ruining your relationship with him. But, to pay you back after what happened, I'm here for you no matter what."

"It's not a problem at all, you see you are not seriously one of the main reasons but I know you and we are friends as well so we are good. Also, thank you for the kind words, you don't know how much I've needed it." Lauren replied as she sighed then Juliet smiled.
