chapter 14: his bracelet

ROMEO'S POINT OF VIEW

"W-Wait really?" I asked as I frowned.

Maybe he is right, I am the one who is not listening in between the two of us. He cared so much of Lauren and I, and I didn't even knew about it.

"Yes! But because of your selfishness, you broke up with Lauren through a stupid letter. Lauren is one of the sweetest and most kind-hearted people I know, and you destroyed her like that." Travis scolded as I looked down.

"You see Romeo, I love Juliet with all my heart, and if you really know me I don't settle bets just like tha-" He said as I cutted him off.

"I'm adopted, okay!" I shouted then he gasped.

"I just found out that I was adopted all along last week and it hurted me the most, I had to end Lauren and I's relationship because I've become weaker and didn't knew what to do in my life. I had to let go of some things, but that didn't stopped me from loving her." I continued as I started to tear up.

"You're right, I'm selfish just because I didn't think of what would happen to her once I end things up. I made a mistake and I know I did, but like what you said she only gives out one chance and I cannot forgive myself because of it."

"R-Romeo, I'm sorry I had no idea." He sighed as he comforted me.

"No, it's okay I accept that you are mad at me. But I just want you to not do the same mistakes I did to Lauren, I may not know Juliet very well but she deserves so much love, and not because of a bet you settled with." I said.

"I thought of the same thing, but thank you Romeo. I'm sorry for the words I said to you, I become so mad and didn't knew what I was saying." He sighed.

"I should be the one who must apologize, please tell your sister that I love her so much and one day if the right time will come, I would ask her out to be mine again." I said as I smiled.

"Sure, no problem. Come here, man." He said then we hugged.

After that, Travis and I went to class. Most students were looking right at us after argument, but we decided to ignore it. We arrived to our classroom then we saw Juliet. Travis waved at her then she waved back, I smiled at her to show my respect and she smiled back.

Suddenly, I felt something inside of me, but I just forget about it. Travis decided that we will sit beside Juliet, since basically he is courting Juliet.

"Good morning, M'lady." Travis greeted her as I rolled my eyes and scoffed.

"Good morning too, even though we literally just passed by each other 10 minutes ago." Juliet said then they chuckled.

"I would want to say good morning as well, but maybe Travis right here will be mad at me." I chuckled then she chuckled back.

"I would be mad if she's already my girlfriend." Travis said then Juliet playfully rolled her eyes.

"Okay, okay stop it." Juliet said as she chuckled.

"By the way Romeo, Lauren wanted to give you this. She said it accidentally slipped into her bag, and told me that I will give it to you." Juliet said as she bring out a bracelet from her bag.

"Oh yeah, that's my bracelet. Please send my thank you's to Lauren from me." I said as I nodded and Travis grabbed his book from his bag then I reached out my hand.

As Juliet reached her hand with my bracelet, I slowly grabbed my bracelet then the two of us stopped. Everything in our surroundings paused, no one is moving or talking at all.

"R-Romeo?" Juliet said.

"Did you see the surroundings too?" I asked then she slowly nodded.

"What is going on?" She worriedly asked.

The bracelet started glowing into gold then suddenly we heard a voice.

"Close your eyes to see the puzzle." A familiar voice of a woman said.

Juliet and I looked at each other, then closed our eyes. At first, all I see is darkness but suddenly a glowing white appeared with jumbled words.

"Have you seen the jumbled words, Romeo?" Juliet asked.

"Yes, I did. What does this mean?" I asked in confusion.

"I don't know, I am not very good at these kind of stuffs." She replied with a sigh.

The jumbled words were "member who upcoming puzzles must choose the a of trust you unlock two to the"

"You have two days to solve this puzzle, for the two of you will stop on being a fuzzle." The woman with a familiar voice said.

"I will send a paper from the boy's bracelet,

to discuss with beginners like you who are sophisticated."

"Did she just called us sophisticated?" Juliet asked as we slowly opened our eyes.

"I guess we are." I scoffed then she glared.

A paper went out from my bracelet then I grabbed and placed it into my pocket.

"Okay, but how do we stopped the pause?" I asked in confusion.

"I guess we can try and remove our fingers from your bracelet." Juliet replied then I nodded.

As we removed our fingers, everything immediately went back to normal. Everyone are unpause unlike before, Juliet and I were so confused which made Travis confused to the both of us as well.

"What happened to you two?" Travis asked as Juliet and I looked at him.

"N-Nothing?" Juliet replied then we tried to act normal and Travis sighed.

After class, I secretly followed Juliet to talk about what happened. Luckily, she's alone and Travis is not with us.

"Juliet?" I said then she turned around.

"Yes Romeo?" Juliet asked as she frowned.

"Please tell me you saw that too." I panickedly said.

"Don't worry, I did, that's why I'm trying to find the answer." She said as she slowly walked towards me.

"Shouldn't be the two of us answer the puzzle?" I asked.

"I know, but I'm talking about why did that happened and how did that happened." She said.

"Do you know where that bracelet is from?" She asked.

"I-I don't know, but I'm guessing it's a gift?" I said in confusion.

As she reached out her hand to touched the bracelet, I accidentally moved my arm which made one of her fingers touched to my wrist. We looked at each other's eyes then a blurry memory flashed on her eyes. As I blinked, the memory faded away.

"R-Romeo? Are you okay?" Juliet worriedly asked.

"Y-Yes, I am, don't worry." I replied.

"But the headache didn't happened, it's weird." I continued then she did her confused face.

"Oh yes about the headache, do you think it's because of me?" She asked as she looked down.

"No, no, it's not. But, I might have noticed that everytime we accidentally touched each others' wrist, the headache happens." I said as she frowned.

"Isn't it normal to touch people's wrist?" She asked.

"Well for my wrist, it's not." I said then she sighed.

"Anyways, enough about the wrist. Should we tell Travis or Lauren about it?" I asked.

"I would love to tell them as well, but I think it's best to wait for the woman to respond to that question." She said.

"You're right, so when do we start solving the puzzle?" I asked.

"I guess we should start later after school, since we are only given two days to solve." She replied.

"Alright then, is it okay if we will solve it in your house?" I asked then she started getting nervous.

"Uhh s-sure, that's no problem at all." She nervously said then I slowly nodded.

"Okay, see you later after school Juliet." I said then she smiled.

"See you too!" She said then we went to separate ways.

After school at Juliet's house

"Is this your house? It's very unique." I said as I admired the inside and outside of their house.

"Yes, it belongs to my great grandparents several decades ago." Juliet said as she chuckled.

"Oh, here is my mother." She said as she walked towards the kitchen then I followed her.

"Mother, meet my f-friend Romeo. Romeo, this is my mother." She introduced as I smiled and nodded.

"Nice to meet you young man, welcome to our household." Her mother said as she nodded.

"Nice to meet you too, Mrs. Fitzroy." I said as I smiled.

"Romeo and I will just be upstairs, Mother." Juliet said then her mother nodded.

"Sure, sweetie." Mrs. Fitzroy said then we went upstairs.

As we arrived to her room, I looked around and admire her room.

"I must say that your house and your room is one of the most unique things I've ever seen." I said as I chuckled.

"Thank you, Romeo." Juliet said as she chuckled back.

"Come on, sit down." She said then we sat down onto her floor.

"Did you bring your bracelet?" She asked.

"Sure did." I replied then I handed it over to Juliet.

We hold the bracelet together with our fingers, then the room was surrounded by gold and a few sparkles.

"It's nice to communicate from you two again. I forgot to introduce my name, my name is Celestia. I am the guardian of the Magicias-" The woman said then Juliet cutted her off.

"Aunt Tia?" Juliet asked then I looked at her with my confuse face.

"J-Juliet?" Celestia said.

"You're the woman who spoke to us through Romeo's bracelet?" Juliet asked.
