CHAPTER 2: Willingness

(COMPLETED)

Furthermore, Aurora and Gregory set out to hunt that same day. Before they arrived to the bush, it was late, yet they continued. Gregory caught a big meat, he hung it over his shoulder and went to Aurora who was spaced out. "Hey," he said, "Are you okay?" He asked. Aurora put on a fake smile, "I'm good," she answered.

"Sorry I was rude to you yesterday," she apologized, still, her mind wasn't at rest. "Nah, it's cool," he assured her. Aurora began to sob, saying, "I'm really scared at the same time I wish it's real. Greg, what if I'm going crazy?"

Gregory squat down in front of her, "Don't say that. Look, I don't know you that well but I know whatever you've gone through wasn't your fault at all." He said. She sighed again, "Yeah you're right. But it's my fault he died. Really I'm the one who's supposed to be dead not him. I mean.... he died saving me," she whimpers and sobs.

Gregory felt sad, he tried to make her laugh but couldn't. Then he asked, "Am I your friend now?" Aurora wiped away her tears and looked at him, "Yeah. Why?" Gregory smiled at her, "Will you tell me all that happened?" He asked. She nodded in agreement. "Okay, when we get home," she replied. Gregory stood up and stretched his hand out for her to hold. She held it and he raised her up. "Let's go," he said.

Later that night, they went back to her apartment, Gregory prepared the meat and they both began to eat. As they were eating, Gregory choked and began to cough. Aurora hurriedly brought him a cup of water. "Thank you," he said and gulps in the water.

Aurora finished eating and thanked him, "Uhm... Where do you live?" She asked him curiously. "I live near the market. I was coming out from my house when I met you again today," he answered, "Oh," said Aurora. "I see," she added. "So.... you were gonna tell me what happened, hope you don't mind?" He asked, "Yeah, it's fine," she smiled as she assured him.

She sat down on her bed and sighed out loud and began...

(Flashback of August 4th, 2007)

It all started when Malachi the king of Ugah refused to sign a handover paper to Zayn, an evil man who would go the extra mile just to get what he wants. He arrived in the kingdom of Ugah many times giving warning to Malachi, yet, he refused to comply with it. After a week, a bomb exploded at the king's farm, close to his palace. At that very moment, king Malachi knew there was nothing he could do. His bodyguards ran to him for a formation, although he tried his best, he chose his best soldiers to prepare for war.

The next day, news got to the kingdom, one of his guard was killed and his head was cut off. When Malachi heard this, he tried to run away with his people but was already too late. That night, he took Aurora and Lucas in a Chariot, as soon as they arrived the gate, there, he met Zayn and thousands of his worriors. Fear gripped him, he turned back quickly in search of place to hide his two kids.

Aurora hid in a cage, while Lucas refused to hide, he ran quickly to join Malachi in the battle field. Immediately he got out, Aurora followed him, unfortunately her leg got stuck and couldn't go out easily. Luca's saw what was going on with Aurora, he saw one of their enemies approaching her with his gun, quickly he ran to defend her even though he wasn't as tough as he thought. He tried his best to slow down the enemy by hitting him with a stick on his head, with the little chance he had, he began pulling Aurora's leg out of the rock.

As he did so for a while, he managed to pull it out, but unluckily for him, he was shot twice on his chest. Malachi who was in the battle field saw this, as he turned back, Zayn tore his clothe open with his sword, lucky for him the sword didn't get his flesh. Aurora, ran away for her dear life, she wanted to say some goodbye words to Lucas but didn't have the chance to as the enemy was getting close.

Lucas, still on the ground, in the pool of his own blood, looked at her direction. "Aurora... I'll find you..." He said before giving up his spirit.

Malachi succeeded in taking Aurora to a safe place. Months later, Zayn and his soldiers were defeated, and there was peace again. But not for Aurora. After the war was over, Lucas body was found and buried, yet she wasn't given the chance to say goodbye.

(Flashback ends)

Gregory looked at her with a sad deep eyes, "That's what happened, huh..." He said. "Yeah," she answered and sniffs, tears rolled down her cheeks and she sobs.

"You know I really missed him," she continued, "And if what I saw last night is true, I'll be the happiest person in the world, but..." She paused and added, "What will people think of me as?" Gregory sighs at the thought of it, "Even I too will think something's wrong." He answered. She chuckled and sniffs, "I know right. Maybe I'll give it a try," she replied.

After a little chitchat, the weather became cloudy and windy. "May I leave now?" Asked Gregory. "Yeah, you may," she answered and walked him outside. "Thanks for staying," she added and smiled at him.

Gregory looked at her deeply, he couldn't take his eyes off her eyes. Her glowing blue eyes that has a lot of misery and mystery unsolved. Right from that moment, he fell in love with her. Gregory lost his EGO and words to say, he continued starring at her.

She cleared her throat, "Aren't you leaving?" Gregory came back to his senses, "Oh. Uhm... I am. Sorry." He chuckled nervously. "I'll leave now. See ya!" He took his leave.

That same night, as Aurora fell asleep, Lucas appeared to her again but didn't reveal himself, he was like an air. You could only feel his presence but can't see anything unless you look at the mirror. He sat down beside her, Aurora, still in deep sleep turned to her left and the duvet fell on the floor. Lucas picked it up and wrapped it back on her. He smiled sadly and wished he was still alive.

The next morning, in the land of Ghoria, Lucas went to meet god Zira, the god of Ghoria. He bowed at him when he got nearer to him. "Tell me your problem," said Zira. "I need a request," Lucas replied, "I need you to increase my ability of being seen by Aurora," he concluded. Zira on hearing this, he stood up from his throne. "Your ability?" He asked.

Lucas frowned and looked downward, "Yes, my ability. And.... Ron... I want him out of here!" He answered with a loud voice. This made Zira surprised, "This is all of a sudden. You're so young for such request," said Zira. "Don't underestimate my age. I died early, it's not my fault. If I was alive, I would have been twenty seven by now," Lucas replied.

He folded his fist. "I can't bare to see her suffer everyday." He grunts angrily. Zira looked at how determined he was, "I see... But, are you saying you want to fight Ron?" He asked. "No, I want him out!" Answered Lucas, "He scares everyone including Janet. I don't want that anymore," he added. "Okay," said Zira. "But..." He continued, "If you don't complete your task in 3 months, you'll never see her again."

Lucas, looked up at him, "Yeah, I know. Even after I complete my mission I'll be gone forever so what's the difference with the condition you're giving me?" He asked.

Zira smiled at his boldness and sat on his throne. "I like you," he said and laughs. "Come have a drink with me," he added. His maid poured the drink in two cups.

"That's not why I came here. Please..." He said and fell to his knees, "Please, I ask for this with all due respect," he concluded. Zira, kept the cup of wine on a table and walked down to him.

"You really think you'll be alive if I showed you my true self?" Lucas, paused for a while, he answered, "I know I wouldn't. If that's the task, I'm willing to do it once and for all!" The maid gasps on hearing his answer.

"Your wish is granted," said Zira and smiled, "You're so brave, I like that," he concluded. "So... Is that it?" Asked Lucas. "Yes, it is it," Zira replied. Lucas became excited, he thanked god Zira for granting his wish.

At Luca's palace, Pluto and his brother, Lingo, saw Lucas, they both flapped their wings as a sign of a welcome greeting. "How was it, how was it?" Pluto asked excitedly. "It went well!" Lucas answered, jubilating. "This calls for a celebration," said Lingo. "Hell yeah!" Pluto replied.

(Like I said in the previous chapter, in Ghoria, they have 3 rules; 1) A person must be 18 before they can carry out their mission if any. If there isn't any reasonable mission to be carried out, a final death will occur. 2) No spirit guard can leave for simple things all in the name of protecting their loved ones. As we have God on Earth, Zira has his own ways of performing miracles. 3) Anyone who breaks any of the law will die the final death with/without protecting their loved ones.
