Lucinda's POV
After the events of the previous night I decided a quiet day in would suffice for my current situation... Although it will have to wait since I have to go buy some stuff for Evgeny.
I showered, had breakfast and prep'ed Evgeny to go and then we left the house. While I was driving Evgeny seemed to enjoy exploring every inch of my car climbing and jumping of just about everything before he came back to the passenger seat and sat down to take a nap.
Once I got to Pet's Ahoi! , the pet store, I put Evgeny in my purse since he was small enough to fit in the and entered the store. He looked around curiously at all different types of things in the store. I got a trolley and placed him inside.
I grabbed a bag of cat food, two silver bowls I will get customized later, a black diamond encrusted leash and collar with a silver name tag.
Only the best for my baby... He is a noble aristocrat after all.
After getting a bed, a scratching post and a bunch of other pet necessities I paid for them and proceeded towards my car.
I passed by the grocery store and bought a bunch of ingredients to make lasagna. Once I got home I got started on my lunch and Evgeny found a good spot on the couch to nap on.
After two hours I was done and made some food for Evgeny and placed it in his food bowl. After making a nice cup of iced coffee I put some lasagna on a plate and watched some TV while I ate.
After lunch I felt like indulging in a good romance so I got Evgeny's leash and walked all the way to the library.
Not that it was far... I just felt like getting some fresh air.
Once I entered the library I saw Melissa at her usual spot at the reception but this time she wasn't lost in book but was instead focusing on her phone.
"What'cha looking at?" I teased.
She turned bright pink as she slammed her phone down on the table.
"N-nothing..." she stuttered.
I giggled as she blushed even more in embarrassment. I picked Evgeny up from the floor and put him on her desk.
"Can you watch him for me while I go get a book?"
"For this little cutie of course!"
I rolled my eyes and took him off his leash and clipped it to my pants while I walked into the romance section which was also filled with all kinds of sub-sections like fantasy, crime etc.
My finger ran along the spines of multiple book looking for something with murder mystery and romance, maybe a bit of comedy.
When I was just about to give up something caught my eye and I took it out of the shelf and read the blurb out loud to no one in particular.
"Clairvoyance is last surviving witch of her coven, which was well know for possessing dark magic. After her parents where murdered in front of her eyes a dark plague spread over the land as the power of the ancestors searched for its last vessel... Her.
Once she absorbed it found her, almost half of the population had been killed, but so much dark magic of an entire coven inside one girl is bound to cause some problems. That's is until she found her safety pin... Caspian the fourth son of the King.
'How can you help me if your own family is keeping secrets from you?' she said with a cold calm voice.
'Because I can't leave you when I know you need me most' he said with a much warmer tone. "
With a smile on my face I walked with my prized gem to the reception to check out my book to indulge.
Melissa was playing with Evgeny so much she didn't even notice me standing there until I cleared my throat and she looked at me like a deer caught in headlights.
"What'cha got there?" she asked trying to change the subject.
"This amazing gem of a book I just found! I can't wait to read it if the blurb is that interesting"
"Can I see-"
"No!"
I quickly interrupted. She looked at me all shocked.
"I mean it's just so great that i don't even know if you've read it yet and you like to spoil things and you practically live here so I have to be careful."
"Oh c'mon I would never do that! And I have to check it out for you..."
I huffed and gave her the book while I put the leash back on Evgeny.
"Oh this book! I did read it and it was awe-"
While she was still talking I snatched the book from her hands, grabbed Evgeny and ran out of the library.
That was close!
Figuring I was a good distance away I stopped running, put Evgeny on the floor and began walking.
On my way I picked up some coffee and a cappuccino muffin at Tia's Café and got a can of tuna for Evgeny at the grocery store then headed home.
Once I got there I snuggled up in my reading chair, put my glasses on while Evgeny slept on my lap I began to read the book.
At some point I had began to eat my muffin while sipping a few times on my coffee before it was finished.
I got up a few times to go to the bathroom only to see it was dark outside and checked my phone to see that I have been reading for 3 hours straight.
I got Evgeny's litter box from outside and put it near the bathroom in the hallway then returned to my chair to continue my book. At some point in the book I passed out only to wake up to the sound of my phone ringing the next morning with my book still in my hands.
