Chapter 3: Living in the body of a human

I heard the sound of a chuckle as I looked up. Loki smiled gently as he wrapped a lock of my red hair around his white-gloved finger.

"You're still as stubborn and clever as before my dear."

Loki then bent so that his face was closer to mine once more.

"It must be eating you in the inside that your cleverness and stubbornness were easily broken by me with that foolish decision of yours. After all, you might have been able to kill me at the time."

I pushed his face away as his smirk extended to be from one ear to the other. My blood resembled the heart of Loge(*the fire god) as it boiled, willing to spill out at any time. I then took a deep breath. Now is not the time to be so reckless. I need to form an army similar to the one that I had before in terms of loyalty and strength. Based on Loki's words and the way that everyone is treating me, I must be of some importance in the hierarchy of this world. For now I will deescalate the situation as I gain a better understanding of the world which I have been born in once more. I have always trusted Odin's(ruler of the Norse gods) judgement in the decisions that he makes.

After all he was the only god to take care of me in the case of when my own father banished me from Asgard. I looked at Loki who watched me silently. Those eyes of his scare me the most about him. Not only are they as deep as the ocean, but they seem to hide his trickery quite well. I frowned. My foolish behavior in the past will no longer be present. I was created for the role of defending humans after all. And with this goal I shall accomplish it no matter what time period it is.

"I will now retire back to my chambers. I apologize for my immature behavior this morning. I hope that you could pardon this one selfish request of mine to make this knight my attendant. If so instructed I will allow him to be in another chamber."

Loki walked back and sat in his throne. He looked down at me as he rested his chin on his left hand. HIs fingers drumming the arm of the chair as he feigned consideration.

"Well then, I can not possibly go against my dear wife's request. I shall grant it, but only after he carries out my order."

I looked at the woman Jaina, whose eyes burned with contempt. I glared back at her. If Loki wasn't going to rip off her limb I would not have quieted to her triad of insults either. I have always admired humans, but there have been some whose fickle words and ways left a bad taste in my mouth. Regardless I have vowed to protect them, in their worst or best. After all it wouldn't be fair to those humans who are actually good to not be protected.

I waved my hand flippantly.

"Do as you please, I am tired and will retire. Have a good day your majesty."

Loki smiled once more as he glared at Jaina. I watched her tremble as she bit her lip to not let her cries come out. For a human I admired her gall and strength. Loki then kneeled next to her and said.

"I will pardon your behavior only this once. I have been quite lenient to you in the past, but your cockiness has gone out of control. After all, the only reason that you are here, is that your cockiness allowed you to jump in my-"

"Enough."

Everyone in the room looked at me as I seethed. I have always known Loki's behavior to be quite disrespectful to the tools whom have no worth to him. But this woman, though cocky does not deserve to have her pride be trampled on in front of the knights. I sighed.

"If I may be so blunt Loki, but as a ruler you seem to be directing your attention to affairs of no particular importance. Why not ignore the wench and punish her with a simple imprisonment? That would teach her to not do the same action twice."

Loki frowned but nodded his head. He then looked at Jaina with a closed-eye smile.

"Looks like the empress is quite merciful. I believe that the least you could do is kneel to her."

Jaina's face turned as white as a sheet as she trembled. I clicked my tongue in annoyance once more. This bastard was quite the jerk. It appears as this woman herself puts herself on a pedestal higher than that of mine despite the fact that I appear to be the official wife. This is the first time that I agreed with Loki's judgement. With this action I could further present my position so that these women would not be obstacles to my future plan. They do seem to be quite loyal to Loki after all. I looked at the trembling woman and said.

"Well, I don't have all the time in the world. Get to kneeling."

Loki looked at me in shock and amusement as Jaina glared at me. I smirked as I watched her slowly crawl over and slightly bow her head.

The memories of the previous owned of this body seemed to suddenly flood my brain. Images of this woman Jaina, pouring red wine over my dresses in the midst of others. Her smirking face as she brought her hand to slap me across the face. And her terrible words which exited from that disgusting mouth of hers.

I clenched my breast as my heart beat with the intention of crying. How merciless. I smirked. I am half god after all, and as a god it is my duty to enact punishment on humans when they misbehave. I then raised my foot and brought it on her head. I heard her cry out as I kicked her head to the ground. My voice thundered as that of my father, the Norse war god.

"Who was the one to teach you how to kneel? A simple bow of your head will not suffice. Now as I have shown you, properly kneel to me wench."
