(Chapter sixty one.)

They had arrived at Starkiller Base just a few hours later after leaving Jakku, and Sara managed to catch just about as much sleep. Supreme Leader Snoke had determined that overseeing the last bits of construction on Starkiller Base would be a better use for their time than chasing their tails, waiting for someone to spot the Millennium Falcon. This time he had ordered a bounty to be put out, instead of using spies, and now it was just a waiting game until someone managed to bring them in.

Sara didn't want to consider the embarrassment she'd feel if the bounty hunters managed to bring in the pilot and droid when she and Kylo Ren couldn't. Hux would never let them live it down. And Phasma would certainly never again take orders from her without having- admittedly justified- objections.

Sara hadn't seen her partner since they returned to the Finalizer. He had barely looked at her after that, instead taking his work to the bridge, Sara got the impression he was distancing himself so he wouldn't snap and start an argument. He had even been absent while Sara was interrogated by Supreme Leader Snoke, which had never happened before. Even at their lowest moment's, he had always been there to intercede when Supreme Leader Snoke went too far and patched her up afterwards with bandage's and encouraging words when Supreme Leader Snoke's deprecating declarations of her own worthlessness stung deeper than the torture.
