I squeezed my eyes shut, this it I'm gonna die.
A cold hand was felt around my ankle and my foot was later freed from the crack it fell victim to. I opened my eyes in shock as I stared at the beautiful young man before me.
His emerald eyes scanned my face and a slight smile played on his plump, pink lips. I blinked a few times and shook my head to release myself from the trance I was put in by his somewhat feminine face.
A frown formed on my lips, "Who are you and why were you chasing us?"
He did some gestures with his hands. I tilted my head to the side. Confusion was written in bold on my face. He then placed his finger on his lips and shook his head. I'm not sure how but I got even more confused.
"You're...hungry?"
He shook his head.
"Thirsty?"
He shook his head again.
"Why don't you just say something?"
He facepalmed.
A light bulb appeared in my head, "You can't speak?" A smile re-appeared on his small lips and he nodded. I nodded, "That makes sense." I internally facepalmed, I'm so stupid. If he could speak he would've called out to us instead of chasing us.
"Katie!" I turned to where the voice came from.
Cloey stopped at my feet with her hands on her knees gasping for air, "What the hell Katie? One moment you were there and the next you were gone. I thought the beast caught you." I chuckled, "What beast? Anyway, as you can see, I'm completely fine."
"But why did you stop?"
"My foot got stuck in a crack in the road-" I pointed behind me, "He helped me." Cloey looked behind me, "Who?" I scrunched my eyebrows and turned around, "The guy that was chasing...us."
There was no one there.
Cloey's eyes widened and she quickly covered her mouth, "Oh my God, you saw a ghost!" I rolled my eyes, "He wasn't a ghost."
She trembled, "How can you be so sure?" I walked ahead of Cloey in the direction of the bar, "He touched me and it felt pretty human." She ran up beside me, "Many ghosts can touch people you know." She grabbed my arm, "We need to get you to an exorcist right away!"
"I'm not possessed though."
"We don't know that!" I stared at her face, she was dead serious and was seriously panicking. I sighed, "Cloey you're being a bit too extreme, I'm not possessed and the guy I saw wasn't a ghost." She disregarded what I said and started mumbling to herself, "Simone won't be open today, we'll have to go see her next week Tuesday. But that's too far away the ghost would take full control of her body by then."
I rose a brow, "Who's Simone?"
"My exorcist friend." How in the world did she even get an exorcist friend? I knew Cloey was weird and believed in all kinds of strange things but this is just too much.
I breathed a sigh of relief as the old bar came in sight. I wonder what time it is now, everyone was probably sleeping by now. Cloey chatted away about the process of exorcism as we walked the dark, silent streets.
But then something caught my eye. I stopped and quickly turned my head to the side of an old apartment complex. Cloey saw that I stopped moving and latched onto my arm, "What is it?"
I shook my head and continued walking, "Nothing." I thought I saw someone beside the apartment complex but I guess my mind was playing tricks again.
My house was finally in sight.
My grandmother was curled up on the couch with a photo of Hannah and I hugged closely to her chest. I stooped down and stared at her sleeping face that was stained with her tears. I made her worry so much. I was too inconsiderate when I ran out without even consulting with her first.
I pulled the quilt over her tired body and planted a kiss on her shriveled cheek, "Lo siento, abuela."
I went up to my room to see Cloey sprawled off on my small bed already asleep. She groaned as I nudged her over, "Make room you fatty." I sighed as I stared up at the ceiling, "It has been such a long day."
I closed my eyes and immediately re-opened them upon seeing his face suddenly pop up in my mind.
Since he was dressed in a hoodie I could barely make out some of his features but I remembered that he was very tall and slender. Slim to a point that he almost looked malnourished but not sick looking. His skin was so pale and white it could be compared to snow. Just like snow his touch was cold but his eyes held a certain warmth to them that could easily pull you in.
What stood out to me the most was his small, feminine looking face. I wonder where he went so sudden, I had so many questions to ask him. I sighed and closed my eyes.
That guy.
Maybe he really was a ghost.

Morning came even faster than I thought it would. I groaned as the light from the window attacked my eyes. I stretched and looked at the spot beside me, "I guess Cloey already left." I yawned and groggily dragged myself downstairs to the kitchen.
I tilted my head to the side as I stared at the back of an unfamiliar person by the stove, "Who are you?" The person turned around with a bright smile. His mouth moved but I didn't hear a word of what he was saying.
My eyes widened when I recognized him, "You...how did you get in here?!"
I jumped up out of bed breathing heavily. Cloey quickly sat up, "What happened?" I laid back down and turned away from her, "It's nothing. Just a dream, go back to sleep." She didn't question me further and went back to sleep.
Why did I just dream about him?
I presumed that it was because I was thinking about him that I dreamt about him. I held my BT21 RJ plush close to my chest, I won't think about him anymore.
