"Do you trust me?"

I smirked as I latched onto a branch, "Not today bitch, you can't get rid of me that easily."

I looked down at a very panicked Dylan. "Shit, are you okay?"

I strengthened my grip on the twig like branch that was keeping me from falling to my death, " Am I okay? Let's see, I'm holding onto a twig that can barely support my body weight, so basically I'm on the verge of falling to my death."

I took a breath, "Taking all that into consideration it's safe to say that I'm great, absolutely great."

The twig like branch gave up on me and started to break away from the tree, "Umm Dylan?" He continuously walked around the tree looking up, "Yea?" The branch broke some more, "Whatever you're doing please hurry it up." I took a glance of the head of the branch, "This branch won't hold me for much longer."

Dylan stopped in a huge pool of mud and water, "Found it." I furrowed my brows, "Found what?" He looked up at me and stretched his arms out, "Do you trust me?" I frowned, "Not really, but what other choice do I have."

I took a deep breath, "If I fall and die I'm gonna haunt you for the rest of your life." He smiled, "I'll catch you, don't worry." I looked down at him once more, "Not very encouraging but okay."

I said a small prayer before clenching my eyes shut.

I released my grip from the branch and started to fall. At that moment it felt like everything slowed down, it's like even the previous raging wind slowed down to see if he'll really catch me from such a height.

Just like all the other times I almost died, my past flashed before my eyes and I glimpsed a fragment of my forgotten childhood. This time it was a man with a doll and a little girl running up to meet him. I couldn't see their faces but just like all the other times, I knew the small child was me but the man I could always just assume his identity to be that of a relative or a family friend.

I landed in a cheerleader's cradle in Dylan's large, muscular arms. I opened one eye and took a peek at his smiling face, "I told you I'd catch you." I closed my eyes again, "Whatever, just get me out of this mud."

"As you wish your highness."

My eyes went wide open when I felt myself falling again. Dylan slipped and the both of us went face down in the mud. I lifted my face from the mud and spat out the bits that got into my mouth.

Ew.

Hope I didn't get any worms in there, I'd just die on the spot.

I looked over at Dylan that came out pretty much unscathed. Excluding his feet and the left arm he used to prevent his entire body from falling victim to the mud, he was very clean compared to me.

I flashed the mud off my hands and tried my best to wipe the mud off my face. I glared at him, "Thanks a lot Dylan." He held up his hands in surrender, "Why are you so angry? I caught you didn't I?"

I folded my arms, "You caught me then dropped me." I widened my arms, "Look at me, I'm completely covered in mud!" He shrugged, "It's not like I'm not muddy too."

I hmphed, "Well at least your face is clean." He smirked and used his clean hand to massage his chin, "I can't afford to soil the lady magnet."

A ball of mud landed perfectly on his left cheek. I laughed uncontrollably as he looked at me in horror and disbelief. My laughter was later replaced by his when a ball of mud landed firmly on my forehead.

I glared at him and he chuckled, "Why are you angry? You're the one that started it."

My glare metamorphized into a devious smile and I scooped up a ball of mud, "You asked for it Mr. Faux."

We started a full on mud war on the side of the road. After a while we got tired and sat on the side of the road attempting to remove at least some of the mud from our bodies using the gigantic leaves from the tree.

It was easier said than done, we were completely covered with mud after our little war. The leaves struggled against the quickly drying combination of dirt and water.

It was getting darker as the evening started getting very late. Less cars were on the road now and the wind calmed down. The place was now very cold as a result of the wind blowing against our wet bodies and quiet with the exception of the small noises of the night insects.

I looked over at Dylan, "Do you still think Hayley and Sebastian are searching for us?" Dylan disposed of the large leaves and got up, "Probably not but we need to keep going."

I accepted his outstretched hand and got up, "Hopefully we pass them on the way." Just as I said that a car came speeding down the road, flashing it's lights in our direction. The black, dark tinted Mercedes stopped at our feet.

The back door opened and a man in a very sharp dark blue suit and dark shades came out. Dylan tensed up beside me as the man walked towards us.

It's night time, what's with the shades?

He pulled off his shades and I silently gasped. He looked like a slightly more mature version of Dylan. Confidence radiated off the cocky smile he sported as he stood directly in front of Dylan.

"Son, what are you doing out here?"

My eyes widened, Son??

I looked at the handsome, clearly older man. This guy is Dylan's father?

I always read about him in business magazines and stuff but I've never seen his face before.

He looked us up and down, "And why are you so filthy?"

I was suddenly pulled forward by Dylan and pushed into the car. I furrowed my brows, "You're not coming?" He shook his head, "I'm not going anywhere with that douche." I tried forcing past him to get out, "I'm not leaving without you. I got us into this mess after all."

He chuckled and patted my damp head as if I was a child, "It's not your fault, stop blaming yourself for everything. He'll call a car to pick me up, don't worry about me." He turned to his father that just silently stood there watching us, "Take her home."

Dylan stepped away from the vehicle as it started, "I'll call you tomorrow."

The car sped away before I could ask him how's he going to call me since he broke my phone. I sighed and leaned back into the comfortable, plush cream seats.

I tried not to look to my right but I could feel his stare burning through my cheek.

He cleared his throat, forcing me to look at him. He smiled and extended his hand, "My sincerest apologies for not introducing myself earlier. Damion Faux, nice to meet you."
