Chapter 2: Blood pond

After entering the new space, Edwin woke up to the sound of whistling and rushing wind.

Opening his eyes, he saw a massive Brown and Blue planet. The crystal clear great blue oceans surrounding the gigantic continents.

The oceans with waves hundreds of feet tall had not a single fish in them. No, it had no life at all, the same with the continents.

Edwin, while marveling at the sight, continued to fall at an increasing speed. With the wind howling becoming louder and louder with greater ferocity.

Edwin's eyesight becomes blurry, shutting his eyes as he was trying; his best to recall the YouTube survival tips.

"Shit shit shit, what did they say? Spread out to slow down right and look for trees." Edwin said, struggling to open his mouth.

Falling even faster than ever, the clothes he used to be so proud of now started to feel hotter.

The heat rapidly grew so much that it was no longer a question whether they would catch on fire.

Edwin realizing his terrible situation panicked and tried to take off his clothes. Now completely naked, he thought of his most brilliant plan to help him survive.

' I should use my clothes as a makeshift parachute to slow down and guide myself to the ocean.' After thinking this, he immediately tried to put it into practice. However, the combination of the wild things wind, blurry eyesight, and his trembling body made it nearly impossible to achieve.

As the ground rapidly approached, he accidentally let go of his clothes; seeing them fly into the sky, he knew that he was not surviving this fall.

' No no no no!'

Edwin tried to scream and let out his despair. But he couldn't longer speak without air rushing into his mouth and forcing him to cough.

After 5 minutes of free fall, Edwin could see where he was going to land. It was barren land.

There was a colossal pitch-black cliff located at the edge of the barren land. Unfortunately, he was falling straight to land at a center that was too far away to give him any sense of hope.

Shutting his eyes to try to prevent himself from seeing the ground that continued to grow larger as if it wanted to swallow him alive.

Just before Edwin was about to smash into the hard ground as an unknown determination appeared in his heart. His eyes opened wide as he looked directly at the land that no longer seemed to have any borders.

" If I survive this, then I'll use any means to live as long as I can!"

The moment Edwin hit the ground, his entire being was crushed in pure crimson blood. That was the end of Edwin Murray's story. However, this story had only just begun.

....

After an unknown amount of time passed.

Returning to the location of Edwin's passing, there was a small puddle of crimson blood that looked as fresh as if it just been created. However, there were some changes inside the puddle of blood.

To be able to witness these changes, we have to zoom in to the microscopic level to see them. Tiny single-celled organisms were swimming inside the puddle.

Whether these organisms were formed from Edwin's cells or the environment's materials was unknown. However, this could be said to be the first sign of indigenous life in this world.

Countless years later, the puddle of blood had become much bigger as it was no longer suitable to be called a puddle but a pool of blood.

It was unknown where this additional source of blood was coming from as there was no other creature alive at the moment that possessed the ability to create blood yet.

The tiny organisms inside the blood, at some point, had evolved into the beginnings of multicellular organisms. Though still at the microscopic level.

Something new regarding the blood was that they were feeding themselves with some unknown materials that couldn't be seen.

The ever still pool of blood had let out a single ripple. Soon more and more ripples appeared in the blood as time passed on.

The previous still world of multicellular organisms shook and changed. Countless organisms were crushed due to the strong currents.

For the ones that survived, the world was no longer peaceful but chaotic that only the strong and the ones that could adapt could survive.

....

Countless more time passed. The blood pool had once again enlarged, reaching the size of a great lake. The original species in the blood had once again evolved and mutated as the years passed on.

Small worm-like creatures floated in the blood allowing the currents to guide them to their new location.

There were bacteria-like creatures at the surface of the blood absorbing sunlight.

There were even creatures that prayed upon the defenselessness of the worm-like creatures.

However, today was going to be another massive change for these creatures' lives as the world shook. Unlike the previous times, it was not only the blood that shook but the entire world moved.

The giant continents had moved from the previous locations; several of them had come together.

Earthquakes were happening across the planet as the ground broke apart. The seas experienced turbulence creating tsunamis that could swallow all of Japan.

Meanwhile, all this was happening: the blood lake also experienced these changes. Cracks appeared all around the lake, leading streams of blood away.

Some of the blood was led: to the oceans, where the small organisms that lived in the blood entered a strange new world. One that was blue and clear, unlike the eternal red sea that they had previously lived.

One with endless space and resources that they live and prosper. Though this drastic change in the environment had caused many of them to die. Unable to survive in this world of no blood.

The other streams of blood were drawn towards unknown areas. If the blood lake could be looked from up above; it would seem like the tentacles of the lake were stretching their grasps across the world.
