Divya's POV.
Every now and then my heart skipped a beat when my eyes met with his. I blushed and looked away. Did he noticed me? Am I looking weird? Oh god.
He was sitting in the cabin right across the waiting room, where there were few other interns too. The interior was dazzling to the eye. But what I really like about this room was the mighty huge windows. I was nervous and also I was really hoping that he would select me. I desperately need this job. I've got to pay the bills, the rent! And also the membership from the gym, which I never go to .
The clock ticking, the time was passing so slow! The room was so perfectly furnished. Grey walls with white couches and sofas complementing the show plants kept at the corner.
Every one were dressed properly. I looked down at my shirt and fiddled with the buttons.
I was wearing a white shirt and grey trouser pant and black stilettos. My hair tied in a proper ponytail which ended right below my shoulder.
I sighed and turned my gaze back towards his direction. He was tapping his pen in the table with his legs crossed and was reading the file. His jaw clenched and eyes focused on that lucky piece of paper.
I looked away as soon as he caught me staring at his charming face. God! Please! Again?
Suddenly he got up and so did the guy who was giving the interview. He nodded and stepped out of the glass cabin. I realized this, when he pushed open the door, it was so transparent as if no walls in between but yet we were sitting distant apart. Then without even saying a word he walked out from there.
Great! My confidence is now lowered to the limit that tells whether I'm gonna puke or either fall down and make a fool out of myself.
All the heads turned as he stepped out from the cabin adjusting his cuffs. Oh my god! He is just so....Shut up! Stop!
Then he walked away after instructing his manager. My gaze followed the direction as he stepped into the elevator and turned to look right at me. Oh shit! He caught me. AGAIN!
"The interview is over. Mr. Singh have decided to hire Amit Dikshit." You know that moment, when your heart is being ripped out and churned into a mixer/grinder, that was exactly how I was feeling.
What!? No way!
We all moaned in disappointment and made our way out from the room in a line. I was the last to leave. Suddenly I felt that someone called out my name, I turned as the manager stopped me as saying.
"Mr. Singh will interview you tomorrow. At 8:00 am sharp" he said as he glanced through his cell phone then looked at me.
"But the internship.....is already over? There was just one place left?" I asked him. He nodded and replied.
"Mr. Singh will talk about that too." And then he left. What the hell?
I dragged myself out from the building and walked to the fast food shop across the street. The thought of him hiring me though he has already selected his intern kept ringing like an old telephone in my mind. That ring.... Tring Tring....
I mean why would he do that?
I ordered one chicken roll and a cheesy mayo sauce to compliment it. I looked around and saw the other interns chit chatting.
"Divya?" I turned my head to look in the direction of the voice
A guy of about my age popped his hand from across the counter. I smiled and concentrated at my roll.
"Divya Rathode?" He stepped in front and then walked beside me. That's when I finally acknowledged his physic. Tall, lean, Tan and army cut hair, dressed in casual T-shirt and jeans.
"Sorry I don't remember you?" I said as he stood next to my table.
"Oh! I'm Manish! Manish Chandra? Your classmate.....?" He took a long pause and stared at me blankly while I was trying to remember him.
"Oh hi! Manish! How are you?" I faked.
He scoffed and sat opposite to me.
"Its ok! Don't pretend that you remember, I know you don't remember me" he looked away. I felt guilty.
"So.....how are you?" He added as he tapped a rhythm with his fingers on the table.
"I'm good" I said dapping the edge of my chin with the tissue.
"Was here for a job interview, more like an internship....." I chuckled.
"Oh....so how was it?" He asked looking right at me.
"Umm, not that good, But yeah! He decided to call me tomorrow! " I smirked pointing towards the huge building of Singh industry. He turned his gaze towards the building and nodded.
"Great! So now you will get to meet me every day!" He teased. I wore my glasses back so now his face was visible.
"What?" I said all confused. I missed his last words, or sentence to be more precise.
He shook his head and got up.
"Nothing, anyways nice meeting you!" He said and raised his palm towards me. I smiled instead and got back to my food.
I seriously don't remember that guy! Ramesh, whatever. Or! Was it Amit? Who cares.
As soon as I reached home I was interrupted by Mr. Kamble my land lord.
"I promise I'll pay you by the month end!" I snapped before he could question me about anything.
He nodded and walked away. I sighed and got back into my apartment. It was just five in the evening, to early to go to bed.
Then I decided to go through more advertisements or at least talk to my agent about it.
As soon as I changed into my comfortable PJs and a white tank top I opened the refrigerator and grabbed the juice jar. Then I poured myself a glass full of sweet lime juice and walked towards the couch.
I placed my laptop over the table and sipped from the glass.
Hmm, hotel management courses.
The advertisement popped open as soon as I clicked on the link.
The Singh enterprises.
Recently, Mr. Abhinav Singh has established The Singh industry of Hotel management in the city. His son Karan Singh being the CEO, has a huge contribution for the establishment of this firm...
I don't know why I was still blushing. Yes I know I have an interview tomorrow but what if I loose it? And I have no where else to go!
Plus Mr. Kamble is always angry with me for not paying the rent on time. And I cannot ask Nidhi to pay it again for the third time. She is really very kind and amazing friend slash roommate to be with, but still, she won't tell it on my face.
I was really hoping that he would select me for the job.
Argh! That terribly amazing features of his Greek God's body. I feel sometimes I am about to faint.
Scrolling down the screen, the way he posed in every picture. Just amazing. Oh no wait! Who is she now? This picture was the ugliest! He was in his swimming suit while his arms wrapped around some other girl's waist. While she was wearing a black bikini and kissing his right cheek.
I hate her. For no reason. I slammed the desktop screen and stood up just when my phone buzzed.
I answered the phone call.
"Hey Di!" She screamed.
"Hey Nidhi!" I softly replied. She sounded really excited about something.
"I can't wait to come home! Got a great news!" She beamed with full of energy.
"Oh that's great! I'll wait then!" I said.
"Oh no! There is a teeny tiny problem, I'm in Kolkata right now-"
"What!?" I almost yelled.
"Yeah, I'll be back by tomorrow. Look I'm sorry Di! But I'll explain everything later promise!" She assured me.
"Okay! Anyways fly safe!" I said and hung up.
The rest of the evening passed in the news paper adds, and some advice from my agent.
After graduation, I had to move out from my parents house. My father worked in navy so we had to shift every year from one place to another. I am the only child. So most of the time I used to spend with my friends.
My best friend Trisha, she never called me after the huge fight. I also stayed firm on my decision. I have an ego taller than Burj Khalifa.
After the dinner I went straight to bed. Tomorrow was a big day. And I really don't want to mess up.
