Two Years

In one of the highest rooms in a lavish mansion, a girl with caramel brown hair sat on a comfortable armchair.

The decoration in the room was in total contrast to the vibe that the old mansion had.

The room was big and not in the usual rectangular shape. It was hexagonal, with three of the six walls occupied by floor-to-ceiling windows.

The wall adjacent to the door had a messy queen-sized bed, while the wall opposite had a bookshelf that extended till the ceiling. It was full of different leather bound books as well as paperback books.

A dark brown fur rug carpeted the floor, except for the area near the windows.

Presently, a girl almost nine years old was sitting comfortably in a swing chair near the windows.

Staring at the beautiful forest view. Her expression was not showing any signs of surprise at the unusual things happening in the room.

The white quilt on the bed was straightening itself. The books on the bookshelf were arranging themselves in alphabetical and subject-wise order at the same time.

It was almost 10 pm.

That day the sky was covered in a blanket of stars. Truly a masterpiece. It always brought her peace, the quiet of the night.

Sierra loved this place.

After her sister went to Hogwarts, she was mostly left alone at home.

Her parents did not have a 9 to 5 job. So many times, she was alone at home with Peach, their house elf.

She had not even been able to go out as the house was in the heart of London. It had a muggle repelling charm so, if she went out constantly, she would attract a lot of unwanted attention.

Therefore, three months after Karalyn left, they had moved to one of the White mansions in galloway forest, Scotland.

Her father and Uncle managed the family business as a side profession, which was of great profit. And this money was all used for maintaining the many mansions that their past generations had bought.

Sia could move freely in the woods near the mansion, as her family owned it.

It had become her routine now. Wake up at six and go for a run, then freshen up.

In the afternoon, she had etiquette and occlumency classes.

She would then spend the time before dinner reading in the library about different subjects satisfying her curiosity about magic.

Before sleeping, she would read any muggle novel (how normal it sounds now to call them a MUGGLE novel), and then she would spend her magic entirely.

By 10:30 pm, she would be in bed.

Now, after almost four years of wandless magic practice, Sierra was able to use magic with just one thought. It was like a part of her body.

Finally, looking away from the forest, Sierra observes the room, trying to find if she missed anything. After being satisfied with her work, she stands up from the swing chair and gets ready for bed.

As soon as her head touches the pillow, her exhaustion takes over, and she falls asleep.

Tomorrow was going to be a busy day...

.....

As the first rays of the sun fell on the messy yet cozy bed through the east-facing windows, Sierra woke from her peaceful sleep.

She stretched like a lazy kitten and yawned loudly. The quilt on the bed started folding itself.

She picked up the milk mug placed on her bedside table by Peach (Peach did not allow her to have coffee, saying something about how she was just 9).

Getting up from the bed, she moves towards the spiral stairs installed in the room to go on the floor above.

The White mansion had a total of three towers. And as soon as they moved in, one of the towers was taken by Sierra.

Knowing that their elder daughter would also wish to have a tower to herself, the White couple decided to leave the second tower for Karalyn.

Lastly, the third tower had a library full of books on different subjects.

Changing into comfortable sweatpants and a T-shirt, Sierra went out for her daily run.

After an hour of running and stretching, she returned, took a bath, and went to the dining room to have breakfast with her parents.

That was the only time when all three were present. Sometimes the family did have dinners together, but that was rare.

"Good morning Mom. Good morning Dad." She wished them.

"Good morning, sweetheart." Valarie wished, kissing her daughter on the cheek.

"Good morning, princess" Michael too kissed her on the forehead.

After few minutes of eating in silence, Valarie asked, "Sia, you are coming with me today, right?"

"Yeah~"

Today there was a birthday party at the Macmillan family.

Since that night three years ago, when Kar and Sia had met Draco and Theo, Sierra has been attending these pureblood parties more frequently.

Because of this, an unusual friendship formed between the three children. Theo and Draco had come to see Sia as a little sister they never had.

"Alright then, we'll leave at seven." Her mother said.

.....

After wishing the host with her mother, Sierra left Valarie with the other ladies.

Going to the corner of the ballroom, she started searching for platinum blond hair.

It did not take her long to find her friends leaning against the wall. She walked toward them and took her place beside them.

"You are quite late," Theo said.

"Yeah, I was reading a fun book," Sia answered.

"By the way, Draco, did you hear about the Wolfsbane Potion?" She asked after a short break.

"Yes. I don't see the use of that. Though honestly speaking, Belby is a genius. Even uncle Severus said so." Malfoy answered.

"Yeah. But I can say that there could be potential in this discovery if we use it well," Theodore too gave his thoughts on the topic.

A few of the things that Sierra had come to understand about these two was that they were academically strong and liked to acquire knowledge that could benefit them.

Both of them were cunning like a true Slytherin.

She hummed.

They spent the next few minutes in comfortable silence, observing the people around them.

Suddenly Draco laughed lightly. The other two stared at him."?"

"The boy on 2 o'clock." He said shortly.

And soon, the other two were also laughing, having seen a boy literally gobbling up everything on the table as if he had not eaten in a century.

It took them quite a while before they calmed.

"See the woman at 11 o'clock," Sierra said after that.

The two young boys peeked. They found a woman dressed in a luxurious blood-red dress, with a deep neck and almost no back. She was covered head to toe in jewels.

Soon the three kids were laughing once again, seeing how the people were avoiding the extravagant woman.

Sierra looked at the other two boys after she stopped laughing.

In these three years, they had become closer.

At every party, the three would finish wishing the distinguished guests and then sit in a corner. They would then spend the rest of the party talking about recent news or go around finding weird people around the ballroom.

After about three hours, Sia bid the boys farewell and went to her mother to return home.
