The sun was about to set.
"Prepare the men, in group of four spread them across the village", yelled Nord.
"Yes sir," replied Mat, and off he went to carry on Nord's orders.
The village was in a roughly circular shape, spreading across a radius of twenty-seven kilometers from the heart of the village. In the center lied the capital building of the village which was made of toughest material that even the beasts couldn't break. Approximately 40 meters in height the capital of zigaan spread across two kilometers.
There was ruckus in the whole village, people went inside their houses locked their doors. In an instant the road filled with people was completely empty, the wind whistled through the trees, Rein was still sitting on the boulder unbothered looking at the sun setting behind the mountains. The only people who could be seen on the road were the people capable of fighting or at least they looked that way with the armor and the weapons they equipped.
Within the recent years it was observed that the appearance of the gigantic beasts was limited within few hours of the night and if killed their bodies wouldn't disappear. Their appearance could be predicted with the sudden change in topography i.e. either thunder, bend in space, sudden explosion and much more. The flashier the entry the deadlier the beast.
[Current situation]
As the troops in the group of four rushed to their respective checkpoints, the ten elders out of which five were capable of fighting while the rest were just possessed extraordinary knowledge, the one who could fight went across in different direction to prepare for the worst scenario.
[In the midst of this scenario]
[conversation between Heath and Rein]
"The widest road leads to the capital, you can find shelter there while we keep the beasts at bay." said Heath.
[The last ray from the sun faded as Heath uttered these words]
"I'll need my sword", murmured rein to himself.
"Didn't you hear what I just sa--"
Boom fell the lightning just behind Heath.
As the dust faded there stood creature about ten feet tall, 7 feet wide. It stood on its two hinge legs. It had horns rounded in a circle, eyes darker than night and pupils redder than blood, jaw as large as a shark, teeth sharper than the finest sword, its skin was coarser than shredded iron, a single pat would rip apart human flesh, it had two hands one of which held an axe, lightening sparks travelled all over its body as if it was one with thunder. Its ominous presence sent shivers down Heath's spine.
Without even turning back Heath knew that it was the anomality that had previously, single handedly ripped the village apart.
