How it becomes like this 9

"Let's surrender ourselves. It may bring no good result if we continue this fight longer," LTC Harrington directs.

Without further wait, they fire up their surrender signal. Their ship gets confiscated by their enemy. The HRA has no idea if it's another colony that makes them losing one of their precious assets. They can't accuse the other party without having any valid proof because it may cause another long war between them.

Not even in his wildest dream LTC Harrington and his crews ever imagined that they become prisoners of war of unnamed mercenaries. No one on Revolt-1 has ever heard their mercenary name, Wolf Rider. They don't even have any animosity which makes them have notoriety somewhere in space. It truly ashamed the HRA's army presents there.

Before long they meet the person who leads the entire enemy mercenary, Wolf Rider, CAPT Lavard. Once LTC Harrington recognizes his identity, he widens his eyes in shock then asks him, "Lt. Rover, what are you doing here? Release me this instant."

Lt. Rover, CAPT Lavard's alternative identity on the HRA army, doesn't give him any kind of response but continues to stare at him. LTC Harrington yells at him, "This is an order. Are you trying to defy your superior's order?"

CAPT Lavard replies, "Unfortunately you have no right to order me on this place." Then he signals his aide to detain them in temporary prison inside their base before transporting them to HSU nearest Galaxy from their hideout. "You traitor!" LTC Harrington yells at him. CAPT Lavard only grins a bit because of that event.

"Let's check out our main objective. We need to make sure they're safe and sound," CAPT Lavard commands.

"Sir, we received a signal from the special squad you assigned to secure our target. They request permission to dock on mother ship a while ago when we're still fighting HRA's pursuing army," one of his subordinates explains.

"Very well. Direct them to return to our hideout then and meet us there," CAPT Lavard delegates.

"Sir, they're near our current location right now. Isn't it better for them to rejoin us at the moment?" that guy suggests.

"If that's their details, it's indeed better for them to regroup with us soon. It brings more comfort to put them in a secured environment rather than let them go on their own to our hideout," CAPT Lavard agrees with his idea.

About an hour after they got their approval to dock on their mother ship, they finally arrive back on that battleship hangar. CAPT Lavard waits on his ship's hangar after he received a transmission that states his special squad is about to dock. He can't wait to receive the research team's arrival onboard.

"Greeting, Sir. I'm Ernest Brendan on your service," Dr. Ernest Brendan formally introduces himself.

"We meet again, Dr. Brendan. What's your situation right now?" CAPT Lavard inquires.

"We lose quite a lot of types of equipment and prototypes. We may need to make new ones soon," Dr. Ernest explains.

"Very well then. How about your research data? As long as you don't lose much of your data you can remake anything you lost there anyway," CAPT Lavard argues.

"You're indeed an observant guy, Captain. Can you introduce yourself before we continue our discussion further? I know you're not an ordinary mercenary," Dr. Ernest says.

"Looks like it's impossible to hide it from you, huh?" CAPT Lavard says and grins a bit then continues, "My name is CAPT Lavard Keynes. HSU special force."

"That makes sense then. Without that authority, you may not be able to command this number of troops. I need your help to ask your superior for funds to help my team resume our research?" Dr. Ernest demands.

"It's one part of my report anyway. I will try to ask for their help but I can't say will it work or not," CAPT Lavard states.

"That's good enough for me at the moment," Dr. Ernest adds.

CAPT Lavard stays behind to observe whether those scientists luggage to make sure that they don't bring anything odd aboard. As far as he looks around, he finds nothing kind of illegal thing getting smuggled into his ship. Then he locates the unconscious guy on the surgery board being moved into his ship. Unsure how to respond to that occasion, he asks Dr. Ernest, "What's his status in this experiment?"

"He is our chosen test subject. It's to find one like him so I need you to keep his identity confidential," Dr. Ernest explains.

"Honestly, it'll be as you said without you requesting it anyway. May I inquires something about him?" CAPT Lavard demands an explanation as it's strange for his client to ask about keeping their subject a secret.

"Even though we didn't secure him through legal means, we saved him when he's about to die on the previous incident on Revolt-1. We also have something to request you to help us with," Dr. Ernest states while looking at Seth getting moved on the board.

Dr. Ernest explains his needs to CAPT Lavard while both of them moving into CAPT Lavard battleship lounge. CAPT Lavard isn't sure if he is capable of fulfilling Dr. Ernest's request at the moment. He believes he has no equipment to finish Ernest's request.

He gives him apologetic looks then simply replies, "I'll see what I can do for it when we arrive at our main base. It isn't possible for me to do it right now."

"No worry about it. As long as your base has the necessary equipment for it, we'll do it ourselves. We lost it on Revolt base when we escaped. There's no way to carry it with us without an adequate transport vessel to use," Dr. Ernest states.

"If there's nothing else to negotiate, we shall proceed as fast as we can before the HRA sends another soldier to attack us," CAPT Lavard tells.

They both move into the battleship and part ways. CAPT Lavard resumes his duty to navigate his ship back to HSU territory. On the other hand, Dr. Ernest rests in his assigned room for this trip. Fortunately, they manage to pass this ordeal safely.
