CH 5: HORRIBLE NIGHT

LAURA knew the meaning behind the gazes of MAX AND ALEX. The disaster that happened here a few minutes ago definitely left a scar on both of their minds. But she was a mother and her son was the most dearest person to her.

"get up!"

She said in a calm tone while she patted KAYDEN's back. KAYDEN understood and got up with much difficulty. His legs almost gave up. He walked out of the kitchen with his mother's support.

It was not like that the old butler was just a servant in the house. He had spent his 70% life in Smith's Mansion. He knew about each and every person and matter related to the mansion and it's people. Old Butler was one of the trustworthy persons that remained by Mr. Smith's side. It was a blow to Laura when she suddenly faced the old butler's bloody body. When she got married into smith family, he was one of the few persons who let know the good and bad deeds of people around them. He warned her time to time if she was about to trust a wrong person. Whenever she felt lonely she would refer him as big brother to soothe the emptiness in her life. His sudden death caused her heart to be clenched but the murderer was her very own son. She just couldn't bring herself to do anything to him.

Not to mention his psychological condition that was hugely affected by his friends deaths. She let him sit on the sofa where he curled himself and his his face in his knees. Laura took a deep sigh and took over her emotions, after all she was a Businesswoman who had mastered to control over her emotions and expressions. She came back to the kitchen and saw the two lonely figuers sitting at each side of the Butler's lifeless body. She didn't glance over the body again because she knew if she did, she may lose her composure. She went to MAX'S side and put her hand on his head and ruffled his hair a bit then he patted his shoulders while saying...

"Handle big brother's funeral and other arrangements for now. He needs to be in peace."

That's correct. Since he's gone 'He needs to be in peace'. After dying this she went to the liv8ng room and took KAYDEN with her towards his room.

Among both Alex and and Max, Alex was the nearest and dearest to the old butler. They both were adopted from different orphanages. Max was a normal kid but he had the aura of intelligence and coldness around him. Even as a kid he was quite aloof to others. On the very opposite side Alex was put into the orphanage because after his mother's death he was abused by his step-father. There wasn't any day when he didn't get any new bruises on his delicate skin. He was only 9 years old at that time. Somehow there neighbours got hold of the situation and called the police. His step-father was arrested for a Child Abuse case and after that he never saw him again. He was only 6 years old when his mother died and soon after his step-father started to get drunk on daily bases. It was not long after he started abusing him. It wouldn't be wrong to say he lived in a HELL for whole 3 years. After that he got different traumas. He would get scared if he see any man near him. He couldn't stay in close places for long. He was afraid of darkness. He was afraid to call anyone 'DAD'. This is the reason he always called old butler uncle while Mr. Smith as 'Sir'. He hated the word father. It was the old butler who helped him a lot so he could overcome his fears and become a normal person.

Max knew ALEX'S condition so he never said any word like father in front of him and soon it became his habit to call old butler as Uncle and Mr. Smith as Sir. It was Mr. Smith who adopted both of them but he's let the old butler raise them properly. They were provided with proper education, food and daily life necessities. In return they both were grateful to Mr. Smith and never asked for any unreasonable thing. In fact after graduation they offered themselves to work there in order to help him lessen his burden.

Mr. Smith was happy with there attitude and gratefulness that he let them see the dark side of the world and handled many dirty affairs for them to clean up. They were trained with great quality and were no lesser than any special force officer. Alex and Max both took their time to handle old butler's funeral secretly. No other person knew that what calamity this house and it's people has face within this one horrible night.
