Bryan Mendelton

A hug startled me the moment I open my eyes. When I look at the person who almost choke me, it's Calissa.

"I'm so sorry, Ami" her eyes starts to water as she hold my hands. "I just kept on bl—"

I hush her which made her stopped.

"It's not your fault"

I roam my eyes around and stop at the person who is sitting at the couch.

"Alpha" I address him and slightly bow my head.

He stand up and walk to our direction. "Are you feeling good now?" he asked worriedly.

"I'm already fine, Alpha" I answered then smile. "Ahm..where am I?"

Calissa answer. "You're in the academy's clinic"

My eyes widened in shock. I'm already inside the academy? Who brought me here, then?

"May I ask how I get here?" I asked shyly.

"It's me" I look at Alpha Rider when he answered. Heat rush in my face and I could already vision myself as red as a tomato.

Oh my God!

"Good thing I decided to fetch you two. It was a great timing that I was there when you fainted in the ground"

I lost for words. I am thankful that Alpha Rider saw me fainted but the thought that he carry me, makes me blush. I won't deny that I have this little thing called crush for him. Who wouldn't? He's kind and a very great leader. He rules his pack properly. Plus, he's also hot.

Alpha Rider look at his watch before he bid his goodbye. He smile at me and asked me again for the last time about how I feel which made my heart sank.

I wanted to tell him that my heart is beating erratically right now but I stop. Of course that would confuse him and ask me again about it until I will lead to confession. No way.

"My brother is really concern of you" Calissa stated when her brother already walk out of the room.

I blushed which I immediately hide. "It's because I am also part of your pack" I answered.

Her right eyebrow raised. "Yeah, but it's different"

"You're just seeing things differently, Cal. That is not what you think the way it is." I said shutting her and she just shrugged her shoulders. I don't want her to know that I have a crush to her brother.. that's embarrassing.

"What happened?" Calissa asked pertaining to where I fainted.

"I don't know. Maybe because I'm still not eating my breakfast that's why I fainted" I answered. Of course that was a lie. I have a feeling that this has something to do with the wolfsbane my brother injected to me. I couldn't tell Calissa nor Alpha Rider about it. All they knew is that my past pack, which is the Riverside Pack, was attack by the rouges. Nothing more. Besides, I wanted to forget everything what happened in the Riverside Pack. Though, scars of whip in my back are still present, I'm trying to ignore it and think of it as nothing but a normal scars.

"Oh my god! Why you didn't tell me?"

"We're on a hurry"

I dismount in the bed. She look at me worriedly.

"Are you really now okay? You can stay here and just rest"

"No. Did you forgot that I'm a werewolf? We have a higher stamina compare to a normal human." I said while fixing myself. " And it's my first day. I don't want to missed school"

She nod.

When we got out of the clinic, a wide open area welcome us. Around it are the five-storey buildings. The academy is in a circle form and at the center of it is an open ground with a fountain at the center. The water from the fountain sparkles because of the sunlight.

"Wow" I uttered.

The Academy is so huge and beautiful. It really looks like a prestigious school.

"The Academy is so fascinating isn't it? Don't worry, I'm gonna tour you around the campus so that you'll gonna be familiarize with the buildings"

I just nodded at her for response. I am still amaze of the Academy. I cannot believe I will be going to study here.

"Here" I look at the energy bar in her hand. "Nana Amelia put that in my bag so I just let her. I didn't know that it would come into useful today. Atleast, that could somehow sate your hunger"

I accept it. Even though it's unnecessary to have this since I have my breakfast very well this morning. I'm not even hungry right now but if I won't accept it, that would arise some suspicion to her.

I open the chocolate and start eating it while roaming my eyes in the buildings.

'We're studying to this prestige school, Almira. One of our dreams' I mind link my wolf but still no response.

I sigh in defeat. It was already two months passed since I was injected with the wolfsbane but still no response to Almira. I know she's still not dead because if she is, then I wouldn't be able to survive for this long.

'I'll gonna wait you, Almira. Hope you'll come back soon. I already miss you' I said in my mind.

Calissa was leading the way while I was just following her. We have the same section and schedule for almost of our classes, except the History. Good thing my first class isn't history, atleast I am relieved to have her since I still didn't know the rooms here.

"We're so late" Calissa stated.

"Are we going to be punish?" I asked her.

She chuckled. "No. Well, thanks for this" she raised her hand and I saw a piece of paper tuck in between her fingers. I reach it.

The paper was a slip, proving that we just came out in the clinic and that gives us a valid reason to be late. Geez.

"How did you get this? Did you just wrote this by yourself?"

She glance at me. "Silly. Of course I didn't. That slip was given to us by the school nurse. You just didn't saw her when you woke up because she went somewhere, important" she explained.

She stop in front of a room with a label 'Wolf 3-A'. I guess this is our room for the first subject.

Calissa knocks in the door three times before it is open by a petite woman wearing glasses.

"Yes?" the woman asked. "What can I do with you, Miss Monroe?"

"Good morning, Miss. We are from this class" Calissa answered and show her the slip.

The woman read the paper before she look at us and let us in. She order me to introduce myself which I did. As a new student, I think that's natural.

"I am Amiya Patterson from Black Moon Pack" I introduced. I choose to used my mother's maiden surname instead of my real surname which is Wintershaw cause that could give them doubts. Wintershaw clan are from Riverside Pack.

Some girls look at me with hated eyes while boys just smile at me. Others just give me a bored look like I am a very uninteresting person.

I saw Calissa waved her hand gesturing to sit beside her. I could feel the stares and glares of them while I was walking to Calissa's direction. She's sitting in the back which is a good thing though.

"I don't like her"

"So do I"

"She's weird. Wearing some gloves?"

"What a weakling"

I heard some girls murmur. I frown. First day of school, I was already hated.

"What a bitches" Calissa uttered after I sit besides her. She's throwing a dagger stares at the girls.

"Stop that. Do you want to have a fight with them? The Alpha's gonna mad" I said reminding her.

She look at me and sigh.

"I really hate girls like them" she uttered in a low voice and just focus her eyes to the teacher in front.

I also did the same and throughout the class, all I did was to take down notes. I could still feel the glares but I just shrugged it off and just listen to the teacher.

Words and glares can't move me anyway. That's nothing compared to the tortures I have experienced in the dungeon.

"Second class. I hope we won't be classmates with those girls" Calissa said while putting her notebook in her bag. Some of the werewolves look at us but instantly ignore us. We've just ended our first subject.

I look at my subject list. The next class is Sense 101. It says that the room number is in the Wolf 6-B. I really have to memorize each of these rooms. Having Calissa in my side is good but that doesn't mean I should always stick by her side. Not at all.

"Our next room is Wolf 6-B. That's on the second floor" Calissa said while looking at her subject list.

We were walking side by side as we made our way to the second floor. The school has it's own elevators but unfortunately, it was fully loaded right now that is why we're both taking the stairs.

"Gosh! I'm not really into stairs!" Calissa exclaimed when we already reach the second floor. I rolled my eyes at her reaction. She's acting like a normal human not a werewolf.

"Shut it, Lady Calissa Monroe"

Some werewolves are already looking at us because of her sudden outburst.

"Fine! I just really hate stairs. They're time consuming and energy draining" she reasoned out which made my eyes rolled again.

"As if that really drained your energy. If I know, your energy was drained because of your shout"

"Your so mean to me A—" she suddenly stop in her track which made me confused.

She's looking in front which made me also look at it and saw two girls flirtatiously smiling with a guy. The boy is both holding the waist of the girls while enjoying the two girls company. Their chuckles and giggles are reverberating in the hall way while they are walking to our direction.

When they already passed us, that's when I look at Calissa again. I was shock to saw her with teary eyes. She's holding her chest.

"Hey what's wrong?" I asked her. I know that something is off the way she reacts now.

She look away before she wipe her tears.

"He's Bryan Mendelton" she said which made me confuse even more.

"And? What's with him?"

She look at me eye to eye. Sadness and hurt are visible in her eyes. Something is really off and that involves with the guy she called Bryan.

"He's my mate"

I get blank for awhile, still processing her words.

"You're what?" I asked her again.

"My mate"

I gasped. I look at her unbelievably.

Her mate?!
