“Hello?” Mimi waved her hand in front of her face as she drawled out the words, “Earth to Alexcyn? Is anyone home?”
Jake’s eyes became focused on his surroundings again, and he saw the image of Mimi’s bright eyes staring at him in amusement. He groaned and shook his head with an apology.
“Don’t apologise to me, you almost walked right into that cabbage vendor,” Mimi steered him away from the vendors with their fruits and vegetables as she linked their arms together. “You’ve been out of it since I met up with you this morning; I’m not that boring am I?”
“No, no Mimi, you’re definitely fine. I’m sorry I just,” Jake wondered if he should tell her what had been plaguing his thoughts since the meeting in the woods with Amoux. Could he trust her? Quickly shaking his head of the negative thoughts he offered her a reassuring smile.
