Chapter 38: The Secrets of Moonflower Part One

Jake had walked back to the town alone. Palis left not long after their encounter with the kroaten and the unveiling of the truth about Alexcyn’s parentage, but Jake wasn’t ready to go back to the manor yet. Did it hurt him as much as it hurt Jake, for whatever strange reason?

Jake was sure now, more than ever, that he truly was living a life that belonged to someone else. And a sense of dysphoria settled within him.
