141. The Advice

A hard slap hit Rissa's cheek. She fell to the floor with a gasp.

Rissa touched her cheek, which was sore and hot. She couldn't believe her mother had the heart to slap her. It hurt her.

Rissa glanced at her mother, whose hands were shaking. Regret was in her mother's eyes.

"Don't ever talk like that again!" Her mother's voice trembled. "Remember! You are the one who doesn't want to move to Batam with me. How dare you blame me for all this.There is no mother in the world who would abandon her child just for the sake of luxury. You should know that!"

Her mother then turned and walked towards her room. She closed the door so hard that the stuffed chicken hanger attached to the door swung hard. Her father then approached Rissa and helped her to stand.

"Are you all right, Rissa?"
