142. A Mother's Blessing

Rissa's mother sobbed as she let go of the pillow and then hugged Rissa.

"I'm sorry too. I slapped you really hard. I didn't mean to put you down. You're a good and independent girl. I'm so sorry."

They hugged for a long time. Even when Rissa's mother came to Bandung because of Rissa's kidnapping and torture case, they didn't hug like this.

Rissa let go first. She wiped her face from the tears, and her mother also did the same. They looked at each other then laughed. It felt weird laughing after crying.

"Doesn't it hurt?" Her mother touched Rissa's cheek.

"It's okay, Mom. It doesn't hurt anymore."

Her mother stroked Rissa's head affectionately, looking at her with a look of regret. Rissa smiled.

"So are you really in love with Charlos?"

"Yes, Mom." Rissa nodded.

"Then how about Charlos? Does he also love you or not? Don't let your love be unrequited!" Her mother's eyes bulged again as if she was angry.
