Chapter 17: Evelyn, Part 5
“Evelyn,” said a softer tone this time and much closer to me. Now my eyes opened to see William and Alice sitting over me in the living room, worry painted all over their faces. I gave a slight smile to ease their concern, though I knew it wouldn't erase it. Slowly and cautiously I struggled to sit up on the couch, grabbing and checking my head. Remarkably the headache was gone, and I hadn't hurt myself when I blacked out. Thinking of what happened before the blackout, I felt my cheeks warm, and instinctively I checked out the window behind me. He wasn't there. Delling, he had said.
"Are you gonna be all right?" Alice's sing-song voice turned me back around. The two of them exchanged a look with each other before she moved to sit next to me.
“Yeah, it's just . . . my head.” Should I tell them?
