Chapter 47: Evelyn, Part 4
During the concert, between moments of relishing the music, I paid close attention to Marian playing among the many other musicians. I smiled at her even though she didn't see me. She was focused and had a glow about her that outshone the others while she beautifully played her violin. As I continued playing, I closed my eyes and briefly thought about my first vision of Delling. Then breathing deeply, I reveled in all the familiar scents of the stage, and the excited energy took off as we played. I opened my eyes to the grand piano with its slick blackness reflecting the stage lights. I took everything in, trying to make sure I captured it forever. I realized, as sure as I was about my choice, I was also quite terrified of the unknown. Was I brave enough to do this? My fears melted as Delling's warmth came to mind.
