Khan found himself in a barren mountain area far away from anything alive or that could even attempt to breathe.

The ground around Khan was a mess of cracks, broken boulders, and gorges, but he didn't look at it, even if his eyes were fixed on it. Two wet trails slowly dried up from under them while memories played in his vision.

Khan understood why Monica had done what she had done and for what purposes. She had always looked out for him, and breaking up with him was her way of pushing him forward. Without Monica, Khan could truly be unbound, pursuing his goal without needing to look back or slow down for the sake of others.

However, it hurt like hell.

Khan and Monica had been together for years, and she had long since become a core aspect of his life. He had built part of it around her, and the thought of losing her didn't feel real. Khan could barely come to terms with the fact that he was alone again.
