Am I really swinging this way?

"That's insane! I'm sorry for telling this but, their faces were as thick as this book!" Tanya told as she pointed down the book—which has 1000 pages—that she was studying for an assignment.

(If you're asking why she has an assignment. Just think of her as a really loving sister, answering her younger brother's activity while he was... Well. Sleeping.)

They were currently at Tanya's place. Although it wasn't Summer's day off, her manager still grant her a free day since it was understandable that today is her father's death anniversary.

"Thicker than that, actually" Summer corrected Tanya's statement and rested down her arms on the table. She then put her chin on top of her crossed arms.

"Yah. Yah. That was more precise. But, you know, I couldn't imagine how shameless they were to drive you out. Compared to you, they were awfully unworthy of your parents' legacy"

"I know. But, Nah... Let them be. Aside from avoiding severe headaches, I also think of Amber... They are her family... She'll be affected if I will take this matter seriously and I don't want that. Besides, I'm not living in the streets. I do have two houses, a small business, plentiful table and my career was still in its excellency. As long as the mansion is still standing, I'm fine with it."

Tanya paused at Summer's reply.

"Wow... What a caring step-sister... I respect your decision, just don't forget your rights and it's not bad to fight for it. I'm sure, Amber will understand that."

"Mhm. Just they shouldn't dare to change anything at home or else I'll drag them out for real."

"Serves them right" Tanya agreed, then she returned her focus to the assignments.

Summer stared at Tanya intensely. She bit her lower lip as she felt a sudden shyness. "Tanya"

"Mhm?"

Summer sat properly.

"Uhm. What do you think... About... L-Liking... Your t-the same... Gender?"

Tanya jolted her head up, confusedly staring at Summer. "Huh?"

"Do you think... They are... D-Disgusting?" Summer's head was lowered while fidgeting her thumbs.

"Of course, not. Why do you ask?"

"Ahm. J-Just asking"

Tanya stared at Summer. The way Summer averted her gaze, Tanya knew right away that there was something that she couldn't express properly and was too embarrassed to talk about it. Her question was a given.

Tanya slightly smiled at Summer's expression. She then returned her attention to what she was doing and pretended she didn't notice anything yet.

"Everyone has different perceptions about that. But In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with liking your the same gender. It might be weird to some people, but it was still an emotion that everyone could have. Liking your opposite sex or not, the feeling is still the same. It's not disgusting... Those who humiliated and labeled them as 'freak' were."

Summer paused at what Tanya said. A glimpse of relief and happiness was shown in her eyes. Although she didn't completely understand why she was glad to hear about Tanya's perspective, still it lit her heart up.

'Am I really swinging this way?' she questioned herself.

"By the way." Summer lifted her head as Tanya spoke.

"Why you're asking me that? Shouldn't you ask Heidi about that matter? She was way more reliable than me, didn't she? And also, she surely has some pieces of advice, if that's what you're looking for" Tanya winked.

Summer blushed, Tanya got her again. She really couldn't lie to Tanya, can she? Or she just failed to hide the real reason for her sudden question?

However, Tanya was right. No one could actually satisfy her befuddlement but Heidi.

Summer rested down her head on the table again while her thoughts were still drifted. After a few minutes of staring at nowhere, she felt her eyelids gradually became heavy.

Summer was trying to keep herself awake but she couldn't prevent her eyes from closing... And then... she gave up... She fell deeply asleep.

.

.

.

"Summer... Summer" A gentle shook on her left shoulder woke Summer up.

She lifted her head and stretched her arms then looked at the figure beside her with her half-closed eyes.

"You're awake"

"Yeah. Where is Tany—" Summer almost fell on the chair as she realized who had woken her up and was now slightly bent while staring straight at her.

She rubbed her eyes and stared back at him... But yeah, it was really Tristan. "T-Trish"

"Sorry. Did I surprise you?" Tristan asked her with a worried look on his face.

"Uh. N-No... No... It's fine" Summer awkwardly smiled.

She roamed her eyes around the place. It was a bit different but she knew she was still at Tanya's place.

She noticed the dark surroundings outside through the glass windows. "How long did I sleep?"

"Not sure... You're already sleeping when I got here."

"Ah..." Summer lowered her head and started to fidget her thumbs.

"I... uh... I want to ask you something"

Tristan pulled the chair beside Summer and sat there. "What is it?"

"Is... Is there a chance... T-That... That... You will have i-interest with your t-the same gender?"

"You mean... I'll be interested in you?" Summer snapped her head up and unbelievably looked at Tristan.

"W-What?"

Tristan just chuckled. "If that's what you're asking."

"I... I don't understand you, Trish"

Tristan seriously stared into her eyes.

"I like you... Summer."

Summer was stunned at his confession, she couldn't utter a word. Her chest tightened and her heart started to beat faster.

She was so mixed up that she couldn't even discern the sensation within her. Summer trembled even more as Tristan slowly leaning towards her.

She gripped onto the table and was gradually soften while staring at his subtle lips. She was subconsciously wanting it too... She wanted to meet his lips with her's.

Summer closed her eyes and after a moment, she felt the cold and soft flesh pressed on her lips, butterflies were occupying her tummy... It feels different yet, good.

Summer opened her eyes to see his beautiful face but to her surprise, it was an undesirable creature kissing her.

With her eyes dilated, she shoved the creature in panic, and then she fell hard to the floor.

"Jesus! Summer!" Tanya stood up as she heard a thud and saw Summer slumped on the floor beside the fallen chair.

Summer looked around. The room was too bright and the afternoon sun rays entered through the windows. She jerked her head to look at Tanya who was now staring at her with a pen in her hand.

Then... A realization hits her... It was all just a dream. A naughty dream of her.

'Damn. What have I dreamt?!' She thought as she stood and brought the chair back in place.

She dazedly sat and asked Tanya.

"How long did I sleep?"

Tanya sighed and also perched back.

"An hour, I guess."

'Oh, ghad! Why did I dream of kissing Trish?! Have I gone mad?!... W-Wait... Was it my... H-Hidden desire? F*ckkkk!'

Summer messed her hair then flumped her head on the table, whining.

"I... Am... So... STUPID! Even in my dreams!" Summer loudly bleated while scratching her hair and making herself like a bombed witch.

Tanya was bewildered at her. She was hilariously miserable!

"Oh, dear. Forget what I said. You shouldn't go to Heidi. See a psychiatrist, instead"

Summer glared at Tanya's uncertain mockery or serious advice. "You go first"

Summer reached for her bag, then fixed her things and stood up.

"I gotta go" Summer told then went towards the door, she was about to leave when Tanya called her again.

"I was just joking... Uhm... But half-serious, I think? hehe" Tanya tee-heed.

Summer just rolled her eyes at her then left.

'Dammit! Haysst! I'm getting weirder and... Scarier! Tsk! I probably should eat Ice cream... And... Fries! Yeah. Yeah. And potato chips!'

Summer crazily argued with herself while driving her way home. She thought food might wipe off her stress. Well, we do all think that way, didn't we?

(It's really frustrating and confusing when you started liking someone)

.

.

.

The clock is ticking, its hands were pointing at 11 and 10... Yes, it was already 11:50 pm, but Summer's thoughts were still on the clouds.

Summer was in her living room, watching a commercial with a huge bowl of chips and fries in her hands.

She was just stressedly eating when her phone tinged. Summer immediately picked it up and looked who texted her.

And yeah, it was Tristan asking if she was mad at him... Guess what Summer did.

Yes! Dear people... As expected from a late bloomer in love and confused with her sexual preference, she ignored the text.

But just a second she put down her phone, a call was followed after.

Summer panic a bit. Should she answer it? Or not?

If she does, what will she say? How should she explain her insane and creepy reason?

But If she'll not, what if her best friend will be upset, and their relationship will start to fall apart?

'DAMMIIIIT!' Summer messed her hair again then slouched on the floor. The call was missed but Tristan called her back again.

"Please. Not now... I'm still having a crisis here!"

The call has ended. She waited for another ring but there's nothing.

'Thank goodness, she stopped calling'

She was about to drop her phone but a message popped up on the screen that jolted her up.

Messaged received from Tristan (Which Summer still think he was Trish):

'What's wrong? What I've done that make you mad? Let's talk. I'm outside'
