Apologize

Noisy crowds were heard at the construction site which they chose to shoot the scenes.

Melissa almost emptied her cup, but Summer didn't even take a sip of her drink. They were currently in a tent as the director gave them an hour break.

Melissa was just staring at Summer, wondering at her dumbfounded face.

"Uh. Miss, Summer?" She called but Summer didn't respond. Melissa raised her hand and tapped her shoulder. "Miss, Summer"

Summer came back to her senses and confusedly looked at Melissa. "Huh?"

"Are you alright? You're spacing out for almost 30 minutes now. I also called you twice"

"Oh. I-I didn't hear you, I'm sorry... I'm so focused on reading the script"

Melissa looked at the script in her hands.

"Ahm... You're reading it upside down, Miss Summer"

"Oh.." Summer looked down at the script. It was indeed inverted. Obviously, she's not reading it.

"Right! I... I'm experimenting... Just trying if I can read it faster this way... Hehe"

Melissa was uncertain and still bothered by her behavior.

"I don't think you're fine... What's wrong?"

"I'm okay. I'm okay... Don't worry" Summer smiled.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes... Uhm. Maybe a bit tired."

"Take a rest for a while. I'll wake you up after the break" Melissa told then went out of the tent. "Rest, okay?"

Summer just nodded then Melissa closed the tent. There was a comforter and a chargeable fan inside the tent to make her comfortable.

Summer flopped and rested down her arm on her forehead. She took a deep sigh and stared at the ceiling.

It's been a week but still, Tristan was avoiding her... How many times did she call him? She could no longer count. As well as her texts to him, probably reached about a hundred. He couldn't even glance at her every time she's going to him...

Summer felt frustrated. There wasn't a second that she did not regret her confession. No one should be blamed but herself...

"Damn it!" She messed her hair and growled, rolling from side to side.

Melissa glanced at the tent as she heard her rumbling, she immediately opened the tent.

"Miss, Summer? What's happening?"

Summer looked at Melissa's confused face.

"Nothing... Ah, Melissa... After the shoot... We're going somewhere."

"Finally!" Tristan was startled as Trish suddenly spoke behind him.

He stopped fixing his stuff for a while then looked over his shoulder to view his sister at his room's doorstep. "What?"

"I want to talk to you"

Tristan continued to do what he was doing.

"About what?"

"Summer" Tristan paused at Trish's answer.

"I heard everything from Whifler... Tristan, you shouldn't prolong t—"

"I can't face her yet... I'm sorry"

Trish sighed. "I understand... But Tristan, you're making the situation worse."

Tristan turned to look at Trish. She flinched as she saw how serious her brother was.

"Will you reciprocate how she feels?"

"Hah? No... I mean... I don't swing that way"

"Exactly. That's why I can't talk to her yet. I don't know how to explain things." Tristan went out of his room and headed to the kitchen. Trish also followed him.

"Just turn her down nicely... I know she will understand... Summer is not—"

"I can't!" Trish was shut at his sudden shout. Tristan was also surprised at what he did. He lowered his gaze and calmed himself.

"I'm sorry... I... I can't bear to see her hurt."

"You really like her that much, don't you?"

Tristan was just silent at her question. Trish took a deep breath and sighed... She understood her brother's feelings and she knew he was struggling with it... But the longer it takes, the more the situation will get complicated. She also didn't want to ruin her relationship with Summer, even to make a gap between them.

"Tristan... Do you think she's not hurt right now? You don't want to hurt her but you are already hurting her with what you're doing... Isn't it unfair?"

"You're tormenting her Tristan."

Tristan recoiled. He was enlightened at her last sentence.

'I'm tormenting her?', he thought while reflecting on the decision he did...

Why he didn't realize it sooner? They were right... If she was turned down, the possibility of her moving on is high and everything might fall into places...

Come to think of it, just how stupid he was?

"Still... I can't do it." Tristan lifted his gaze and softly stared at his sister's eyes.

"But, you can"

"What?"

"You can talk to her and reject her."

"Are you crazy?! We'll be caught!"

"No, if I will stay here"

"What about mom? What if she'll suddenly come here?"

"No, she will not... I can take care of that"

Trish messed her hair out of frustration.

"Oh, ghad! This is not a good idea, Tristan!"

"It is, Trish... She likes you, so you must reject her yourself" Tristan seriously remarked which made her sigh.

"Dang it... You're really good at driving people crazy"

"Am I?"

"Huh? Where is she?" They both looked at the maid as she arrived at the living room. It was just ten paces distance from the kitchen they were currently standing at.

"Who?" Trish asked her. The maid looked at them and was startled as she saw Tristan.

"S-Sir, Tristan?... H-How long have you been here?"

"A while ago... Why?"

The maid immediately walked towards them and worriedly bowed.

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'm so reckless! Sorry! Please, forgive me! Forgive me!"

"Wait. Wait... Why are you apologizing? What happened?" Trish asked in confusion, Tristan was also befuddled at the maid's sudden apology.

"Miss Summer came here earlier... I didn't know that sir Tristan had arrived, so I let her in... I told her to wait in the living room because I thought you were still inside your room, Miss Trish... I'm sorry! I know that I should maintain the confidentiality of the situation of your family... But, then..." The maid started to cry, her guilt was clearly seen on her face.

"It's okay... It's okay... Don't worry... I'm sure she didn't see us" Trish reassured, but her forehead was knitted in worry...

Did she really not see them?

Tristan instantly ran out of the house and checked if Summer was still around... But only the silence of the surroundings greeted him, she was no longer there...

He was about to go back inside when a car stopped in front of him. He looked at Whifler as he got out of the car.

"Why are you here outside?" Whifler asked.

"I'm looking for Summer"

"Hah?! Why would she come here?!"

"I don't know..." Tristan weakly responded with those dejected eyes.

Whifler walked towards him.

"Where's Trish?"

"Inside."

"Did Summer see you together?"

"We're not sure" Whifler just nodded at his answer.

"Let's get inside" Whifler told then headed first. Tristan also followed him.

Whifler saw Trish, tapping the back of the maid who was now crying. The other maids were also there.

"What's going on?"

Trish lifted her gaze to look at Whifler. She glanced at the maids and politely told them to leave.

"Summer came here. The maid let her in... I didn't know she was here... We didn't notice her"

"Did you come out of your room?" Trish averted her gaze at his question.

"W-We we're actually talking here in the kitchen"

Whifler was stupefied as he heard what she said. He then massaged the bridge of his nose.

"We know, Summer won't leave without talking to you... That's just how she is... But now, you literally didn't know she's here, even when she left."

Trish bit her lower lip.

"D-Do you think... She saw us?"

"I'm not sure... Let's just wait until tomorrow... You know Summer... She will annoy you until you'll tell her everything... If she really saw you, I guess she's a bit shocked right now." Whifler responded.

All of them looked down, thinking about the situation.

"Damn... Everything is piling up"

They all fell silent. Trish smiled and looked at them enthusiastically.

"I have a feeling she didn't see anything... Trust it."

"Mhm... There's the only way to assure that" Whifler looked at Tristan.

"Talk to her"

"What?!"

"You were avoiding her for too long. If she didn't see you... She would definitely be glad about it... But if she did, I don't know how would she react but I'm sure she won't stop questioning until she got answers..." Whifler explained. Tristan was about to object but Trish held his hand.

"I agree... Just simply apologize to her first... I promise I'll talk to her, too... But for now, we need to be certain..." Trish said that put him into deep thought.

Trish was right... He also might be the reason why Summer suddenly visited. Whether she saw something or not, It wouldn't change the fact that he hurt her and confused her.

He should indeed apologize for his stupidity.

Tristan closed his eyes and let out a heavy sigh. 'I should be brave'

After a moment, he lifted his head and looked at them seriously. "Alright."
