White Tulips 2

Tanya's brows furrowed while watching Summer walk back and forth in front of her, anxiously practicing the explanation she will tell Tristan.

They were currently waiting for Tristan's meeting to end at the leisure room of Fuenta Glamouroza. And every tick of the clock, Summer's nervousness rises.

Tanya sighed. "Hey. Relax! Why are you so worried?"

"Why do you think? After you sent me those messages?" Summer glared, still restlessly walking.

Tanya just raised one of her brows.

"Both of you were overreacting to little things. Is that what happens to those who are in love? Was it really that distressing?"

Summer's eyes narrowed. "Why don't you fall in love first then answer your own question?"

"No thanks. I don't need a headache."

Summer instantly turned around and started wiping the dispenser with the tip of her sleeve as the door opened, then Whifler and Tristan came in.

Summer was too ashamed to face him and she wasn't prepared to talk to him yet. She didn't even know how to start a conversation.

Meanwhile, Tanya pursed her lips to prevent her laughter. Tristan and Whifler also stopped and stared at Summer, wondering why on Earth she was cleaning the dispenser.

"What are you doing?" Tristan asked which made her flinch. Summer slowly turned around to look at them then averted her eyes a second after she locked her gaze to Tristan.

"U-Uhm... I-I noticed it was so dusty. Hehe." Summer awkwardly told, then she quickly blew the dispenser as if there was actually dust left.

Tristan just nodded with a confused look on his face when he sat down on the couch.

"Ah! Right!" Tanya immediately pulled Whifler's hand, dragging him outside the room before he could complain.

Now, Tristan was more confused at their sudden leave. "Do their screws loosen up again?"

"Uh. T-Trish" Tristan glanced at Summer―who was now fidgeting her thumbs―when she called him. "I... I... Uhm."

Summer took the bouquet then handed it to him without looking. "I-I'm sorry!"

"Thank you?" Tristan confusedly accepted the bouquet and stared at her. "But... What for? Uh. Did your screw loosen, too? All of you are acting strange today. What's going on?"

"I just wanted to apologize. For... For... For last night? I did not fulfill my promise. I failed in—"

"I understand." Summer jolted at what Tristan said. She saw him slightly smile and his eyes were sparkling while staring at the white tulips she gave. "You have another promise. You said you'll make up, right?"

Tristan softly turned his gaze to Summer which made her blush. Again, that crazy rampage of her chest deafened her. And strangely, Tristan was beaming more than usual in her eyes. Uncertain whether she was imagining it or there are literally petals flying around him.

"Ah. Yeah." She blankly responded, completely lost at the feeling of butterflies in her stomach.

"So. What about... Lunch?" Tristan suggested.

Summer peeked on her watch then she sweetly smiled at Tristan. "Sure."

.

.

Summer was astonished as they arrived at the place where Tristan chose to eat lunch. She looked around and noticed the bunch of lively customers. "Wow. This crowd..."

"This store is quite popular I think. Their dumplings are delicious. If I'm not mistaken, Amber was their regular." Tristan told while glancing from side to side, looking for a table that's not too conspicuous.

"What? Amber?"

"Yes... Ah. There. Let's sit there." Tristan walked towards the table at the right corner. Summer also followed.

"How did you know?"

"Because she was boasting about this store last night."

Summer's forehead wrinkled. "Last night? You were together... Last night?"

"Yes. Well, it's just a coincidence." Tristan calmly stated as he took off his mask and waved at the waitress standing near them.

The waitress immediately went towards them and tried not to be obvious that she was heading to the celebrities. "Good noon, Ma'am"

"Good noon. Uh. May I have one serving of beef dumplings, please"

"Sure. What about you, ma'am?" the waitress smiled at Summer, waiting for her order.

"One serving of chicken dumplings, please." Summer answered, then the waitress left politely.

Summer lowered her head. Although she was aware that Amber was straight and also didn't know anything about Tristan, she was still overthinking.

'When did they become close? Wait... Are they really close? But.. How?', she thought with a worried look on her face.

"What's wrong?" Tristan asked. Summer bit her lower lip and started to fidget her thumbs.

"Uh, nothing... Uhm. W-What did you do l-last night?"

"We went to the beach and just drank a bit."

"Drank?! We-Wait! Was she drunk? Did she do something weird again?!" Summer's worried or let's just say 'a little jealousy' turned into irritation when she heard they drank.

She knew Amber like the back of her hand when drunk. She will definitely cause a huge mess or worst. Not that she was afraid she might do something terrible around Tristan, but she would be really embarrassed on her behalf if she did.

Tristan blinked in stupefaction. "Ah. No, not really... She just vomited on my jacket. That's all."

Summer was speechless and just sighed. 'As expected. At least it wasn't that bad compared to what she usually does when drunk.'

"I apologize." Summer told. Tristan just nodded then they started eating after the waitress served their food.

[TV News Report: The well-known actress, Heidi Alvarez was brought to the police station early this morning. It was said that the actress was a person of interest for the murder of Dr. Janrei Monigan.]

Summer halted. She lifted her gaze to where the television was playing. Her eyes widened and her sweat suddenly felt cold as she watched Heidi being escorted by the two officers.

"What, Heidi? Was she really involved?" Tristan unbelievably asked Summer. He peeked at her pale face, dumbstruck at the news. "A-Are you okay?"

Summer just nodded and slightly smile to sweep off his worry. "I-I'm fine... Let's just focus on the food."

'Heidi... It's happening. I wonder what are you thinking right now... Do you feel any regrets, now?' Summer thought while eating.

'Well. Hopefully, you did.'
