Unique Ability

"Aza, thank you so much. Your breakfast made me feel like I am on cloud nine. It made me forget everything else and the only thing that I have in my head, heart and tongue right now is the taste of your delicious breakfast." Diana really felt short on words. She couldn't express her feelings.

Aza came back after putting the dirty dishes back to their place; dishwasher into the kitchen. She sat beside Livia on the double seater couch.

Livia asked, "We should always be angry with you Aza. If you're gonna pacify us with your delicious hand cooked food. Guys, how's my idea?" Her face had a cheeky grin and her eyes showed her hunger. The hunger for Aza's food.

Immediately they heard a stern 'no' by Aza.

"I'm not going to cook for you all whenever you guys get angry or are upset with me. I cooked today because I had something important to do later. Therefore I didn't use my other ideas to make you forget about last night." She explained her reasons behind taking charge of the breakfast today.

Her remark made Livia, Diana and Serene's faces fall. They lost the cheeky grins and their eyes looked downcasted.

Ines didn't show the same reactions as her three friends. Although her eyes also looked dejected.

She kept the ice pack and moved it in a circular motion around her bump.

Serene saw Ines with the ice pack and asked, "What happened to your head? Why does it look red?"

Xavier finished first and went inside the kitchen, a few seconds later Rev came to see his friend Xavier, washing the dishes.

Rev put on the gloves just as Xavier and began to help him. With the two of them working together, they completed their task in less time.

Both of them dried their hands.

"Why did you stop?" Xavier glanced at Rev who was standing at the third step of the stairs. He looked at him, "Xavier, I found something strange today."

"What did you find?" Xavier had to ask him when Rev didn't conclude his words.

Putting one hand inside his pockets, he took the key that he found in the fountain.

"Do I look like a psychic who was gifted with the power of seeing through eyes? I can't see through things or hands. You should open up your fist for me to find out about this 'strange thing'. If you do not want to tell me then I'll just go and get freshen up."

He slowly unclasped his hands.

Xavier had to squint his eyes when he caught the glimpse of a shining and shimmering object in his friend's hands.

Then he frowned, not liking the way the light entered his eyes. He felt a different type of energy radiation.

Rev twirled the key in his hands and Xavier's eyes followed the key's movement.

Xavier forwarded his hand towards Rev, quietly asking him to put that glass key in his hands yet Rev didn't accomply to his demands.

"I don't want to risk giving it to you. You are the most intelligent scientist however your hands are more famous for having the unique ability to break things." Rev held the key, positioning it to his middle finger of left hand and the lower part of the key got attached to the index finger.

"..."

Xavier's face contorted. His pupil shrunk, "I don't break things on intention. It just happens sometimes." His face got a flush as he muttered.

Even though he knew how his hands never worked in coordination with his brain, it didn't mean that he ALWAYS broke or destroyed things.

It was only that he and his hands had a record of breaking or destroying any object.

Rev raised his left eyebrows when he heard Xavier. Feeling a cynical stare, Xavier rubbed the back of his neck.

"Haaa… Since you don't trust me and my hands. Then come into my laboratory on the weekend, I can check what's so fascinating in this glass key that makes you feel so protective of the glass key. " He told Rev when he saw how tightly yet carefully held the key in his fist.

Xavier gave a bro pat on Rev's back before going towards his room to get changed.

Rev looked down at his fist where he had the key secured. Opening it, he tried to study it again yet he didn't find anything more than what he got in his previous attempt. He got the same result; zero clue.

'I don't think I can resolve the mystery behind this glass key by myself. I have to wait for the weekend to know what's the purpose of this key…' He kept walking, with his mind surrounded by the thoughts of the key only.

He went inside and locked the door. He surveyed his room to find a place where he can keep the key without worrying about it.

He glanced everywhere and his eyes got stuck on the cabinet of his bedside table lamp post.

He kept the key inside and locked it through the other key.
