Irregular Attacks

'Focus.' Ja Feng thought to himself as he immediately began gaining distance. He tried to process Xin Lun's attack just now, but no matter how he looked at it, the spear suddenly changing locations.

'How did he change the location so drastically? It's impossible to withdraw the force in your weapon so quickly and then follow up with another attack in just short of a second!' Ja Feng was dumbfounded and under extreme pressure.

Whenever he thought about the scene, he would have a headache and became gradually frustrated. He wanted to know how Xin Lun managed to pull something like that off even though they've only been training for a week.

'What did he do to accomplish such a feat...' Ja Feng thought as he hastily approached Xin Lun with his sword in hand. He knew he could no longer fight in his composed and calculative way against his polar opposite and basically nemesis.

His attacks were refined while his opponent's attacks were nothing short of wild. It was rather easy to predict Xin Lun's attacks at first because he had seen all such attacks before.

But now, it was different.

The moment he approached Xin Lun, he didn't give him any time to attack and instead slashed his sword, unlike last time. As his sword slammed down on Xin Lun, his face suddenly scrunched up as he saw the spear coming full force at his left ribcage.

'Damn!'

Ja Feng was sent flying a few meters across the stage as he grunted and clenched his teeth. Thankfully, no major injuries were caused and no bones were broken. He was still in near-peak condition.

The left side of the crowd suddenly became worried as they saw Ja Feng's predicament.

"He's become frustrated and unfocused because of Xin Lun's sudden change in attack style. I don't blame him, it's like XIn Lun's a magical beast. Nobody would want to fight him." One person said in a worried tone.

"Yeah, I don't know how Ja Feng will pull through this..." Someone else muttered while staring intently at Ja Feng who had just got up.

Ja Feng's expression became firm again as he took in two deep breaths and attacked Xin Lun again. He used the exact same attack again, but when he saw the spear that was originally aiming for his face suddenly aim for his stomach, he dodged it immediately.

The spear missed its target and Ja Feng didn't hesitate to counterattack with another fierce slash. His sword was quick and powerful, slashing diagonally at Xin Lun, who was slightly surprised to see Ja Feng dodge the attack.

'Did he catch on already? Impossible.' Xin Lun attacked again, swinging his spear as if its entire body was a blade. Ja Feng attempted to block the attack, and noticed it vanish again.

He looked down, finding the spear piercing upward towards his pelvis and he immediately curved his sword to meet the spear. He grunted as pain assaulted his arm.

Fortunately, he still blocked the attack at the cost of quickly maneuvering his force, muscle, and weapon to counter the spear attack.

'Is that how he's doing this? But we haven't been given enough time to build up much strength...' Ja Feng attacked again, hoping for Xin Lun to execute his mysterious attack again so that he could observe it.

Xin Lun's arms originally were swinging to the left as his spear aimed for Ja Feng's ribcage again, but his left arm pulled back on the spear without stopping its force, and his right arm pushed forward, adding additional force to the attack.

And in such a small amount of time, the spear that was originally aiming for Ja Feng's ribcage had tried to pierce his chest again. Ja Feng was trying to observe Xin Lun's movements so he was a bit late in dodging the attack, resulting in a large but shallow cut across the left side of his chest.

A small smirk appeared on Ja Feng's face as he finally realized what Xin Lun did to change his attack trajectories. Though it required precise calculation and thorough knowledge of your own attacks, it was nevertheless an unparalleled fighting skill.

'He doesn't need that much strength, if the force and trajectory of his weapon just so happens to align even a little bit with his new attacking position, then he can change it. Which means as long as the position isn't too irregular or unusual, he can pull off that mirage-like attack!'

Ja Feng successfully deduced Xin Lun's unusual but amazing fighting skill and tried to use it against him. Xin Lun pierced towards his face and Ja Feng immediately calculated all possible and available attack positions and deduced the greatest possible choice.

That was, of course, his right arm. Not because it was the closest, but because Xin Lun knew Ja Feng would expect a chest attack and decided to aim for the arm to confuse him.

Also because it was the next closest target.

Ja Feng smirked and watched as his predictions came true. The spear suddenly appeared in front of his right arm, but his sword was already there, ready to block the incoming attack.

It was like Xin Lun mastered the art of fake-outs. His first attack was always the fake-out, giving the opponent the impression that they didn't need to worry about the first attack.

The spear blade clashed with the sword as sparks flew again and the crowd roared in awe.

"Amazing!"

"How are they even doing that?! It's practically inhuman and shouldn't be possible!!"

"It's terrifying!"

Xin Lun was greatly surprised at this and quickly attacked again. He didn't want Ja Feng to get too cocky and aimed for his right shoulder again. He knew Ja Feng was right-handed and decided to make a reasonable choice.

Disable the good arm.

Ja Feng kept the smirk on his face as he didn't even observe the spear and waited for the fake-out to happen, but to his surprise, he didn't notice the trajectory change.

Ja Feng felt a searing pain in his shoulder as cold air entered a fresh wound. Warm blood quickly leaked out as his face turned pale.

Huh?
