Chapter 15

'This was going to be fun', she thought, staring at the man before her. Who would've thought two days ago she would entertain the idea of fooling around with Eli King or that she would even step foot in his home? Certainly not her or possibly anyone who was paying attention to the pair.

"Is this the room?" She pointed to a room with a white door they stopped beside. Helen enjoyed the amused look on Eli's face as if he was silently trying to figure her out. Good luck with that. She liked to think of herself as a fun party bag. You never know what you'll get.

"Yes. This is where we'll be having our first date," Eli answered, kind of letting the moment die down because he didn't want to rush things. He opened the door to his theater room which had a large projector screen, bar, and snack area plus long comfy chairs to relax on. "I prepared a movie night for our first date. Thought we could chat and watch the movie at the same time."

Although he met Helen in one of her past lives, the current Helen and the past Helen were still two separate people. With reincarnations, the appearances were what remained the same and on rare occasions, the reincarnation would look identical to their previous life but there could be a whole personality change. Reincarnations sometimes only shared small similar habits. For Helen, it was her personality but her appearance was slightly different. When Eli went home two days ago he couldn't understand the feeling like he had met her before but later on he pieced it together she might have been a reincarnation. It was that familiar feeling of meeting a reincarnated human. He didn't know why he didn't immediately pick up the fact that she was the village girl just from her features alone.

Eli hadn't actually spoken to Helen's past life, he had just spent a week observing her when he escaped his home in the old days to look at the villagers his kind were closed off from. In the past, vampires lived hidden away from the outside world in what was called a dark forest. There were a select few who would kidnap humans to bring back a blood supply for the others. It took thousands of years for the vampires to decide to blend in amongst humans like the other creatures after a Goddess retaliated against the rules for supernatural creatures staying hidden. Eventually, vampires rose to the top of the social chain in villages. Humans were clueless about the monsters they praised and vampires basked in their ignorance.

The last day he came to finally talk to Helen, she had been killed by another villager. Luckily, he got a second chance to talk to her even if it was many years later and he had to admit the current Helen was even more interesting than the past one.

"A movie date," Helen commented, seeing the room set up with popcorn, snacks, drinks, and more. This truly wasn't what she was expecting but she wasn't upset by it at all. This was what she would normally do by herself or with a couple of friends but now it was with a man. "Funny enough I have never been on a movie date with a guy," She admitted now thinking about her dating history. A majority of her dates were mostly restaurants, bars, or maybe an event for wherever the person worked.

"It would be a first for me too," Eli admitted looking for the controls for the big screen.

He normally wouldn't have anyone in his home besides Noah and a few other friends but he had no intentions of sitting down and watching a movie with any of them. He wouldn't do it with his mother either. Eli hid the location of his home from his mother since she would probably send some random woman by his doorstep. His mother was trying to set him up on dates so it could lead to marriage. She made it her job to find him a wife so he could create his own family and live happily unlike her who was stuck with a person she hated.

His mother was so blinded by wanting to set him up with someone who she thought might make him happy that she completely ignored the fact, her ways were not how he planned to settle down. She was trying to push him into a relationship just like someone else had done to her with his father. Eli loved his mother but there was only so much he could take.

"Really?" Helen doubted it to be true but then again she remembered this man was not normal so normal dates wouldn't exist in his world.

"I normally have my movie dates at the premiere," Eli replied, finding the remote which controlled the projector. The reason being that he would have been dating someone involved in the making of the movie or Kevin would beg him to take along an actress which Eli knew was a plan concocted by his mother.

Helen felt like he was flaunting how extravagant his dating life was and responded, "Well excuse me. I'll let you enjoy the flex. Did you have a one-eighty moment and decide to switch up your dates starting with me? I'm on a thin line between being happy I'm your first for this kind of date and sad that I don't get to be pampered."

"There are still two promised dates. I wouldn't feel sad about it right now," Eli assured her. Truly, he was also hiding from his mother's spies who might spot him in public and start to question him about Helen. People couldn't help but mind their own business and most of them were just looking to run back news to his mother to get on her good side. He didn't need those people around them for the first date.

He would inform his mother about Helen when he wanted to and if the woman wanted to stick around. Thanks to her earlier confession he at least knew she was being charmed even if it was just for a small moment. All he needed was that one moment to squirm his way into her life. Now he knew how the people who tried to do the same to him felt.

"Hmm…" Helen said, taking a seat in one of the comfy chairs. His house just screamed what she planned to build as her future home. If she had a theater room she would never leave her home. The goal of her dream home was to have everything she needed so she wouldn't have to leave. Goodbye humanity.

"If you're unsatisfied I can arrange this movie date at a theater right away. I would rent it out for just the two of us," He proposed having no issue with moving the location of the date.

Helen smiled, wondering how much she had charmed the man. Had she underestimated herself? She felt like she had this man slowly wrapping around her finger. As he should, she was a total catch. "I prefer to be here in your wonderful home seeing as I strangely feel comfortable. Let's get this movie started!"
