Chapter 46

"Now that I'm in a better mood, how about we have a nice little chat?" Inquired Eli, placing the bat on one side so he talk with the bruised man.

Vincent's body slumped to the side, filled with fresh open wounds and tears on his head down to his chest. He could barely hold himself up because of the damage Eli inflicted on his body.

"You're a vampire, you'll heal. Eventually," Stated Eli, taking a seat in a chair provided by one of his men. He was almost giving the man a bit of reassurance about his state.

Vincent groaned attempting to speak but the pain was too much to bear. His body was healing but there were too many wounds for the healing to finish quickly.

"How about a drink while we wait for him to gather himself?" Noah suggested giving Eli a glass of normal alcohol to drink.

Eli took the drink having nothing better to do but wait for Vincent to be in a better condition to speak. "Nice weather we're having today Vincent. Sunshine, birds singing, and you bleeding out. A beautiful day in my eyes."

"Fuck...you," Vincent managed to mumble soft enough for everyone in the warehouse to hear thanks to their good hearing ability. He swore if he could get out of this for just two seconds he would without a doubt kill Eli even if he was a royal.

"Tsk tsk tsk. Don't you know in this situation you're supposed to be begging me? Or has the gravity of this situation not register in your mind?" Eli questioned glaring at the mess of the man in front of him. "Since you're able to curse me, tell me this. Who sent you to spy on the woman who visits my home?"

Eli knew all sorts of men like Vincent who did the dirty work for people who didn't want to get their hands dirty. The downside for Vincent was when he got caught, he was left out for dead by the people who hired them.

Vincent spat out a mouthful of blood from his mouth in Eli's direction. It dripped onto the floor centimeters away from Eli's shoes. "I-I'm not telling you anything."

Instead of using the bat again, Eli chose a small knife this time. "Acting tough won't save you, Vincent. I can smell your cowardness radiating off your skin and it's stinking up my fucking warehouse. Answer the damn question or I'll peel you like an apple."

Vincent still refused to answer even though he knew it was his only option for survival. He did not want to go through another torture round with Eli again. If not for his bruises, Vincent would be laughing at the mere fact that Eli had found himself tangled up with a human. It was almost comical just to think about it.

Seeing Vincent smiling for no reason Noah commented, "I think he's finally lost it."

Finding strength in his body thanks to the healing process, Vincent sat upright as much as he could, taking quick breathes in the process, and said, "Have you finally lost your mind? I always knew there was something wrong with you. Distancing yourself from the rest of us for years. Are you with a human because you want to be one?"

Eli stood up and ordered his men, "Hold him down."

Two men approached Vincent and held each side of his body as Eli stood up drinking the content in the glass Noah gave him. One man forced Vincent to look up at Eli who swirled the knife around his fingers.

"What do you want to lose first? Eyes or fangs? Personally, I prefer to hear you scream while I pull out your fangs but I should get your opinion seeing as it is your body. I'm quite the generous man to hear your opinion."

The chair vincent sat in shook in a failed attempt to escape the grasps of the men holding him down. There was no way on this earth he could just sit by and let Eli pull out his fangs. It would take forever for his fangs to grow back and even if Eli didn't kill him, he would become a laughing stock and a disgrace.

What was a vampire without his prized fangs? Nothing.

"Speak Vincent. I don't have all day for you to make up your mind," Eli said urging the man to answer his previous question about who hired him to take photos of Helen. It was idiotic the man didn't realize this wasn't a game for Eli and the more he prolonged the situation, the more Eli would add to his torture.

"It's a pity how you're running around with some human. Does she know what you are? Even you can't break the rules to expose yourself to her. The moment you leave her, those women will hunt her down and kill her to satisfy their jealousy. Do you want to know who hired me? Fine," Vincent dramatically spat out more blood which landed on one of the men holding him down, making the man growl showing his red eyes.

Vincent flashed a smile with a mouthful of blood-covered teeth to the man who wanted nothing more than to smash Vincent in the face for getting blood on his clothes. "Sorry man but I can't be the only one covered in blood."

Vincent looked to Eli who appeared annoyed and said. "The person who hired me was Charles King, your father. Tell me, Eli, were you expecting someone else? Even Charles knows it's stupid for you to be hiding a human. If it wasn't serious you would have no problem showing that woman's face. You're a disgrace."

"I can live with that. We're done here," Eli responded not caring to entertain Vincent after this. He got what he came for after all.

Eli didn't feel shocked hearing his father's name. He expected it to be one of his parents but he would've cared less if his mother's name was called. His father was probably up to no good digging around in Eli's life now.

Eli looked down at Vincent who thought he got the best of him.

"Tear him limb from limb and bury him somewhere."

Vincent shook the chair once more trying to fight the men off of him but it was pointless. His current state didn't leave him strong enough to put up much of a fight. "Why are you taking it this far? I'm just the worker for your father. The royals should be kind enough to show mercy."

"Mercy?" Eli dryly spoke watching the man continue to put up a losing fight. "That is mercy. I originally planned to feed you to the dogs before tearing you apart. Isn't that merciful enough?"
