Chapter 51

Meanwhile, on the other side of Harlow city, Helen sat on the second floor of her restaurant, looking down at the busy floor below. In six months, her restaurant had become popular amongst the customers in the surrounding shopping area. Their social media page had also gained a lot of buzz after many people who visited started to share the pictures and their experience online.

Essence had gained the success goal she set for it in the six-month period but there was still a long way to go before it can become well known in other parts of the city. Helen also considered starting another one of her business ventures ideas after bringing in some money from an investment thanks to Eli.

It was helpful when your boyfriend was a money-making machine who could offer some tips.

"If only bills didn't exist," Helen said to herself taking a look at her financial statements. She believed the world would be a better place if bills for rent and utilities just disappeared for her. It was a monthly nightmare showing up in her mailbox. "I should hire someone to do this, bills depress me."

She sighed, placing the paper calculating all her bills on one side, and placed a new sheet with new menu ideas Saha had prepared in its place. The plan was to keep the menu fresh by adding a few special items once in a while. They didn't want customers becoming bored from eating the same food items every time they visit.

"Ugh, boss. Some women wish to speak with you," Noah informed Helen, showing to two brunettes who were looking up at Helen from the bottom floor.

They didn't seem like happy customers who wanted to meet the boss. More like they had a problem with the boss and Helen picked up on this right away.

"What exactly do they want to speak with me about?" She questioned wanting to know whether this would be a friendly conversation or her hunch of underline animosity from their expressions was right.

"They say it's about Eli King. Should I send them away?" Noah suggested as he didn't like the looks the women were giving his boss. He knew that Eli would only get Helen in trouble one day. Something must be happening for two vampires to come to see Helen.

Helen started piling back all her papers in a folder and replied, "No. Send them up."

Noah reluctantly left the second floor to bring the two women upstairs.

Helen watched the two women, who appeared to be sisters because of the facial similarities, speak with Noah who returned to them. They started to follow him upstairs and in the meantime, Helen took a look at their appearance.

Judging from their overuse of brand names and jewelry, Helen figured the duo had some sort of wealth. Their outfit just screamed look at me, I have money and I can afford brand-name clothes. Nothing about the duo's outfits was cohesive, just expensive.

The big question was, why did they want to talk to Helen about Eli?

Were they family, friends, fans, or perhaps lovers of Eli? They better not be the last two options.

The clicking of high heels on the marble floor stopped when the two women stood in front of Helen. Helen allowed Noah to go back to her job while she could speak with her new guests.

But seeing as they were just going to glare at her even though they were the ones who asked to speak with her, Helen decided to start off the conversation. "Hello. You two caught me on a good day. What can I do for the two of you?"

Helen wanted to have a positive mindset that maybe, just maybe, Eli recommended her restaurant for a lunch party or something. He did it for one of his guy friends three months ago. This might be the same situation-

"How did someone like you manage to trap Eli?"

-or not.

Helen tapped her fingers on the table and pursed her lips knowing where this conversation was heading right now. She took a deep breath then wore her fakest smile showing her pearly white teeth. First Eli wanted her to meet his mother and now this. Great!

"I love to break it to you ladies but he trapped me. Do you know how annoying it is that everyone only sees him as the prize? I'm a great person. He should be glad he's dating me," Helen said, finding herself in a little rant. The women, who hadn't introduced themselves, looked a little taken back by her words. "You know what, just continue."

"She's not even that pretty Tara."

"Of course she's not Clara, her kind is never pretty."

Helen felt as if little knives were being thrown into her heart from the "insults". To say she trapped Eli was one thing but to say she wasn't pretty was another.

"Hey! You don't have to lie when you don't like someone. I think you're both pretty with the tacky clothes you have on. We can both be honest. See?" Helen motioned her hands in a there you go fashion. "Now try it."

Tara, who was the older sister, slammed her hand down on the table, startling a few nearby customers below. She wasn't going to let some human tell her about being honest. "Stay away from Eli King or you'll regret it."

"Hmm, I don't think I will. I'm really enjoying my relationship, so run along. Time is money and chatting with you about my boyfriend isn't earning me anything but a headache."

"You better take our threats seriously," Clara sneered, raising her hand to slap Helen who fortunately caught it before it could connect to her face.

While holding onto Clara's hand, Helen stood up completely fed up with what this situation became. "Don't try to hit me in my own business or I'll show you how a real threat works. I won't be talked down to in a place I built up. Understood?"
