enduring the pain

ONCE THE GIRL IS OUT OF SIGHT, Aubrey bursts out laughing with her hands going to hold her belly.

"Gosh what was that? Did she give you a love potion or what? That was too clingy, gross."

Brady stares absentmindedly at Daisy's retreating back, "She is beautiful, isn't she?"

Aubrey tries to stifle down her laughter while squinting at her brother's lovestruck expression, "Uh huh."

He snaps his head to her, "And what do you mean clingy? I wasn't being clingy."

She mocks, "Yes, you were. I almost barfed. I think I need to scrub my eyes when we get home."

He fakes a laugh at her, "Yeah, really funny." He drags her along so they can both continue their journey down the school's hallway.

"Don't you know girls don't like clingy boys? I won't be surprised if she doesn't call you tonight."

He clenches his fist, "I am not clingy. I really am not."
