Though the gods

AUBREY SITS AT THE LOCAL PARK, STARING SERIOUSLY AT HER PHONE WHILE SHE EXPECTS A CALL FROM HARPER. The sounds of children playing around seems to make it bearable to wait for the talkative of the school. The girl had begged Aubrey to wait at the park until her pottery class ended and it apparently had ended 30 minutes ago, so Aubrey has no idea why Harper isn't on her way to the park yet.

Aubrey exhales, raising the volume of the phone to hear it clearly when it rings before she lifts her head to stare at the children laughing as they run around, chasing each other.
