In attempt to get her toaster after it has been stolen, Aubrey accidentally entangles herself with the highest supernatural beings ever existed~ gods. 

These gods are dangerous, irrational beings, who have been banished for their sinful and diabolical acts. And they still remain atrocious in their actions when they find out the "missing piece" is hidden inside the body of a 19-year-old college student, Aubrey. This "missing piece" belongs to Kai— the highest god, the pure representation of evil who is incapable of emotions other than anger and grief. He wants to get reunited with his missing piece, which means he'll do anything to get closer to the girl. But his brothers and sisters are determined to hide Aubrey from him, so as to keep the missing piece safe, before Kai gets his hands on her.

Things start to go sideways as affection, greed and lust arises among the gods, especially when Kai's half-brother starts to fall in love with Aubrey.

The Great and Lonely: Kai

Aubrey's eyes widen in pain and she tries to spit it out but it is as though something is keeping her from doing it. Rhea's eyes close up and whispers start to leave her lips, making more glowing marbles to circulate round Aubrey. Aubrey's hold on Connor tightens as she lets out a piercing scream, feeling as if her heart is being ripped out of her ribcage with each syllable that comes out of the purple haired.

Seconds pass by in unbearable pain and Aubrey begins to plead for them to stop, unable to withstand the heat being pushed vigorously into her soul. Her eyes begin to turn red and veins pop out from the intense pain and screaming. "Please stop! I can't do this anymore!"

Connor also senses Aubrey's pain and speaks up, whilst gripping her hand to absorb as much pain as he can, "Rhea what is going on? Why is she still in so much pain?"

Gemma quickly answers, "You can't interrupt her; you would slow down the ritual."
