Chapter X - Starlit Sky

"There is an ancient Japanese legend, about a monstrous serpent. It had a total of eight heads and eight tails, it was a powerful creature, it devastated entire villages for nothing. This being was called: Yamata no Orochi, in his Japanese tale his life is taken by a man, or rather a smug god who never cared about human life, his name... Susanoo"

Takayama, Japan

One week ago

It was night, the sky was in a unique composition, its darkness was synonymous with mystery, along with the accent of stars that became something dazzling by itself, but the big main "star" shines more than anything, the moon. The beautiful, resplendent lunar light has enchanted mankind for as long as it has existed, its brilliance may only be a reflection of the great sun, yet it is still magnificent.

At the N.O.T Human headquarters silence dominated the place internally, outside there were a few security guards and cameras assisting them. On the roof there was a boy nonchalantly admiring the starry sky, but he did not have the best expression, according to the expressiveness of his eyes, the focus of his pupils was not the moon and its intense brightness, something in his thoughts bothered him.

- So you are here! How predictable you are. - From far away a female voice had approached, with a slight difficulty climbing onto the roof.

- Emi? - The boy's expression didn't change.

The roof had the traditional slope of a Japanese castle, its coloring between sapphire and navy blue, some cherry petals brought by regular breezes were scattered on the tiles because of the season, the dispersion of the petals all over the place was comparable to the stars, but obviously, they would be pink stars. The slope meant that the petals were slowly falling, leaving the sky and becoming shooting stars.

Kushinada approached the boy, immediately noticing his dry expression.

- I told you, girls your age are complicated, don't get all worked up just because you got dumped. - Kushinada tries to make a joke to cheer the boy up, but fails miserably and is completely ignored.

Trying again, Kushinada sits down next to him, but now her words are serious while still maintaining a smile:

- Have I told you the story behind your name? - With a docile expression she watches the moon.

The boy's attention is caught by Kushinada's phrase, who then responds with a "no" by nodding.

A few moments after his conversation with Kushinada on the roof, the boy headed to his room in the headquarters, reflecting on what he had been told and why she had said it. Strangely enough Kushinada was attentive to the boy, it was never in her nature to do this, at least with others, this must be because she is like a kind of older sister to him, or at least she sees it that way, since when they brought this boy to the N.O.T. Human.

Amidst his thoughts the boy enters his room, slowly opening the Japanese rolling door, but that's when his attention is diverted, he felt something strange, and indeed he had, eyes, red eyes that were like blood lurking him in the darkness of his own room:

- Shh - From reddish eyes a mouth appeared just below, making a sound that indicated for the boy to be silent, this sound was followed by a gesture with his fingers, the index finger positioned in the middle of his lips.

Before the boy could take any action, he found himself paralyzed, his body simply wouldn't obey him.

- This belongs to you. - Said the strange figure, with a hoarse and imposing voice, with an arm emerging from the darkness the strange being seemed to hold a sword in a sheath, to the eyes of the boy it was not possible to see the sword in detail. - Accept it as a gift, I really owed you.

The figure places the sword on top of the bed that was between him and the boy, with a quick movement of transition between darkness and clarity, in this short space of time it was possible to see his hand quickly, it was male, had small scars scattered and still had a rough appearance, its color was not normal, it was between gray and pale. Now it was possible to see the sword better, its sheath was in a dark green tone, almost black, there were two golden snakes that wrapped themselves around the sheath, the body of the two snakes met exactly three times never by the sides, unlike the head of both snakes, they started on the sides of the sheath plating one on the left and the other on the right, and their long body ended in the mortise, both were made of gold also (plating and mortise). The hilt which was the only exposed part of the sword, was traditionally made up of: hand guard, handle, and pommel. Its hand guard was totally made of metallic glass (a micro-alloy made of palladium) possessing a great resistance, but the greatest attraction was that its transparency really resembles a kind of glass, in the front part there was a precious stone lodged in the center of the hand guard, a small sphere that looked like an alexandrite, exhibiting diverse and mixed colors but following the same tone, these vivid colors danced internally throughout the hand guard and thanks to its transparency it was possible to contemplate everything. Finally there is the handle followed by the hand-guard, its color was green, like the scales of a reptile, specifically a snake, which was there again, the pommel was the head of a snake with rubies in place of eyes.

The strange figure after leaving the sword on the bed disappeared, it was only at this moment that the boy could move freely again, his expression was one of fear, he did not understand what had just happened, but this sense was swallowed by another, a sudden desire, the sword left there, called him, whispered in his mind.

The next day Kushinada hummed through the halls of the headquarters, she possessed a good morning mood, she headed for her "little brother's" boy in order to wake him up. When she arrived at the place she noticed that he was no longer there, to her surprise, his bed was made, this causes her some surprise, because he didn't really have this habit, only after a scolding he would do his duty, Kushinada worries about the boy, but ends up not being able to go look for him, she was busy with the daily work of her own organization "yesterday he was a little distressed, I have to do something for him, I feel bad for his past" thought Kushinada while leaving the boy's room. Later that same day Noah suddenly arrived at the headquarters.

Noah was being carried out on a stretcher unconscious, when the boy who had disappeared earlier, sees him, it causes him something strange, at least that was his last memory, before he took over.
