Lost Art of Doom

While walking through the forest Jacob got a habit of continuously inspecting every shrub he came across. He would inspect them with the new function from his system.

He was looking for something that he could use to wrap his bandages. He was sure there was a chance to be able to harvest something to dress his wounds with. Soon he scanned a plant that fit the description.

This seems like something they used back in the day. Technology seemed to have rendered it almost useless. "I guess this is what they mean by someone trash being someone else's treasure" Jacob found something that he would be good enough.

He cut the aloe and a thick liquid slowly flowed out from the flesh. He applied it to his cuts and bruises which were all over his body. After he made sure each cut was properly dressed he harvested long enough leaves and enough length to wrap around his body.

He was properly bandaged and he stopped taking further damage.

Jacob continued to eat the remaining ant eggs every time she had enough room in his stomach. While he was eating he decided to study the Sutra he received from the system while he allowed for his wounds to heal a little more.

As he sat in a clearing, he read the sutra intently to understand the true meaning behind it.

"Doom brings devastation, destroys worlds and ends all lives. Doom is inevitable, all things must fall to doom". Jacob read the text with understanding.

Jacob read further into the beginning of the sutra that described a move. It was a melee type move that focused on destruction along with a linear pattern. It was called 'Fist of Doom'.

"This sounds like something a 3-year-old would write," Jacob mocked. Although he said this he never wrote of the skill. He still studied the move earnestly. The sutra was sometimes mixed in with anomalous attainments such as splitting planets.

Jacob thought it was foolish. Blowing up a planet wasn't impossible for some early-stage xiantian stage experts. Even the peak stage could create massive ravines spanning kilometres on larger planets. It was more likely for the planet to be blown up.

Splitting a planet was simply unimaginable. There was a diminutive chance that a blow from a fist could split a moon in half, but that was as far as he was willing to believe. The core of a planet was simply too dense, not to mention the sheer density of the centre of the planet is 12 times that of the crust.

The surface area of Planet Crenos is 1.42 billion km² and has a width of 25,843km, breaking a planet of that size in two was where Jacob drew the line. Planet Crenos was the second smallest planet in the Solar System making it even more unlikely.

Lucky for Jacob, he never wanted it to break the planet. He just needed his fist to kill anything that might threaten his life. Jacob memorized the full sutra then closed the book.

He understood the text meaning and with a punch, he activated the sutra and released a powerful right-handed strike toward a large tree. As Jacob's hand connected to the tree, a bright light shone along a linear path on the tree and burned within the grooves of the tree.

Jacob looked at the tree and was still dazed in a sort of stupor. He looked at the path of the line that was seared into the tree. The line followed a vein that ran throughout the whole tree. Jacob underestimated the sutra greatly.

"This is crazy, It doesn't just break anything in half, but breaks anything along any linear paths", The move would break anything cleanly through its centre or the most susceptible part of their existence.

It was like punching a heart and rupturing the coronary artery, Or in this case a deep burn through the grooves of the dead bark. The power of the sutra was scary. Different from anything Jacob had ever seen.

Other sutras involve limit breaker sutra's or elements that grant powers contrasting toward your practice of said sutra. It was a way to build your body further beyond the limit of early-stage xiantian.

Some sutras could weaken your body in exchange for destructive attack power. While some would make your body well-balanced in strength, not all sutra's had a drawback.

"This really is surreal! The power in this sutra is out of this world" Jacob still felt the sutra was far fetched with being able to split planets. Though that never meant it was weak.

He continued to train as he practised the lost art of doom. He activated the sutra and struck the tree but he was met with the same result. The strike only left a burn running along the old grooves of the tree.

He was not breaking it, but he produced deeper grooves each time. Jacob would exhaust the little energy he had to practice his sutra enough so he would be able to use it in battle. Suddenly Jacob was stumped by the perplexity of the sutra.

"My understanding is shallow, but I don't understand" Jacob revised the sutra in its entirety. The sutra described doom as a force that must make all things succumb to inevitable. When he fired up the sutra and fired a punch the doom power never came with linear destruction as it said.

"Why is it not breaking, I should have been able to break this tree on the first strike." Jacob thought he understood the sutra enough to execute it properly, but he needed a lot more practice to have any success.

He couldn't even perceive the true power that it could have.
