Chapter 10

I was shocked when I look at the door where the speaker's voice came from.

"Clash?" I said and immediately turned around, then I saw him.

"Tss,"this grassy man whispered softly which I ignored.

I adjusted my clothes for me to breath with the situation and then looked at Clash.

"I'm sorry if I didn't answer your calls, why--," I whispered, looking for something sensible to say.

"It's okay, I won't mind," he looked straight at me when he said that.

"Looks like you're still not eating." he looked at the food served on my small table.

"I'm going now, I won't bother you anymore." he added, didn't wait for me to answer and he completely turned his back on me.

What? What happened? Ria chase him!

No, I won't chase him. I don't think I can face him right now.

What just happened and why the situation became like this? What would that person think of me, then?

I am so unlucky. He might think that I am such kind of woman.

The time I dreamed of being close to Clash again, I shouldn't have wasted it but what did I do?

I wiped the tears from my cheeks. It might be over acting to say but because I worked hard to end up like this.

"Wife... I'm sorry." I felt someone hug me from behind.

I firmly removed his grip on me before facing him.

I intentionally looked straight into his eyes before speaking, "Let's eat, first. And after this, I don't want to see your face again." I said seriously and turned my back on him completely.

We ate quietly. It was fast but it also seemed like a very long time because of the extreme silence. But it's a bit refreshing that he's quiet.

Did I overreact to him? But maybe it'll be good for him to let go of me, I got various headaches because of him.

After eating, he offered to wash the dishes but I did not agree. I just arranged everything so that he could leave as well.

"Do you want to come with me? I'll take you to your university and so you don't have to commute," I heard him said that.

It’s calm and you notice the embarrassment in his voice.

I didn't bother to look back at him because I was washing the dishes.

"No, I can do that alone." I whispered while still focusing on what was being washed.

"It's okay with me if I come with y--,"

I didn’t let him finish saying, “You should go,” I said seriously.

I didn't want to look bad but I just said that on purpose.

"All right," I felt sad when he said that.

I heard the door open.

"Wait." I said before turning to him.

He, on the other hand, seemed to be looking at me in astonishment, I could also see the slight hope on his face in case I changed my mind and agreed to go with him.

"Leave my ID with me," I said simply.

He averted his eyes before digging into his pocket.

"I don't have it anymore, haven't I given it to you yet?" he asked, looking in every corner of his pocket.

"What? It's not on you? Have you lost it?" I'm starting to get bored again.

He knows that that was the reason why I am after him and then he just loses it? Oh sheep! What kind of thing is that!

"I thought, I already gave it to you." he bowed in guilt when he said that.

I, on the other hand, had a bad opinion of him, trying to calm myself down by scratching my head slightly and rubbing my sinuses.

What a misfortune you have been through, Maria! How is that? Will I request a new temporary ID or will I just wait for the new ID and ask the guard to forgive me always instead of asking the old woman in the office?

"Alright, you can leave." I said and turned my back on him again.

"Okay. I'm sorry, wife. Take care." after he said that, I heard him step away.

Wife wife! You really have the guts to call me like that?

That grassy looking man is getting in to my nerves! Wife? Is he Clash to call me by that?

Wait? Clash? I have a practice with him!

I immediately finished my washing, took my cell phone and bag and hurried out. I'm hoping that grassy looking man is still there and maybe he can take me to SCU to speed me up.

I looked at the time, it was 8:21! I'm 21 minutes late and I haven't boarded yet. It's a 30 minute drive from the apartment I'm staying in to the university. 30 minutes if no traffic and it will take an hour more if traffic.

Dead! I am so dead.

It took me more than forty minutes to get in. It's 9:08 in the morning and I'm really late. I ran out of the jeep and hurried to enter the university, fortunately the guard didn't notice me so I kept running to the gymnasium.

I was lucky that I even got to practice where a variety of students from different departments was there. I looked for Clash but I didn't see even his shadow.

"Ms. Pulutan, are you just gonna stand there? Come here," I stopped in my tracks when our Engineering Economics professor who chose Clash and me to be candidates for the upcoming Foundation Day spoke.

I approached him, he was on the side of the stage here inside the gymnasium.

"And where is Mr. Perez?" she added when I could get close to him.

What? Clash? Clash is not here? I though he rushed here after he came from my house.

"Yes? Clash? I thought he was here before," I explained.

She looked at me, eyebrows raised and forehead furrowed.

"Earlier before the practice started, he was already here. I told him to contact you because we were about to start, and he said he would just pick you up again," Ma'am explained.

"I'm sorry Ma'am, maybe I got involved on a bit situation," I said.

He went to the house to pick me up before he entered, then he got into such a situation. Then now he went to my house again? What is really going on?

Only one person can be blamed for my misfortune in life is that grassy looking man.

"What are you waiting for there Ms. Pulutan? Go up to the stage, I'll just look for Mr. Perez." she said and turned her back on me.

I immediately went on stage. I was greeted by the rude look of a gay man who I think was organizing the pageant.

Unlucky! I'm really unlucky even then! If only I hadn't met that man I would have had a happy life!

Annoying! He's really annoying.
