Chapter 10: One Last Night

I was staring at the ground for quite a bit of some time, even if the cat that went by the name of Night was talking to me. I knew that she could tell that I was not listening to her hardly if any at all, but she did not seem to care all that much any ways, as it seemed like she just wanted to get all of this over with as soon as possible.

What was the reason that I was staring at the ground, and not paying all that much attention to what it was that she was saying to me in the first place? I was not sure the answer to my own question if I was going to be honest, as I was not quite sure what it was that was going on with me.

I felt a little bit sick, as I felt alone at the same time. I knew that this was what I wanted to do, and it was not that, that had me so in to my head, but what it really was, was the fact that I kind of felt a little bit alone. Even the two legs, it still felt like they were some form of company, but this entire day, it felt like most of my thoughts were sad thoughts on the fact that I was leaving Ben.

I knew that he would not view it that way, as I was sure that it might have been a bit of a struggle for him to have to come and see me every day, due to the fact that he did not want to let his friends down, but it still hurt me to know that I was leaving just about the only friend that I had ever had, it kind of felt like.

I let out a bit of a sigh at the same time too, as I knew that I should not be thinking on those thoughts at all, as it felt like I had a bright future ahead of me, and I should be excited about all of that, as I was getting to do what it was that I had always wanted to do with my life, which was of course, going to go live out in the wild.

I wondered what it was that I would see out there, and the cats that I would meet, as I was bound to come across a few at some point. I knew that I had been told that all of the cats out there were just a bunch of mean rogues that tried to attack you, but the cats that had all told me that were all kitty pets, and I felt like that could not be true for all of the cats.

I smiled a little bit, as I remember some of the stories that Ben used to tell me about going out there. Now that I began to think back on it, like he had said to me before, I do remember him telling me about how beautiful it was out there a lot more than he had told me that it was scary, but my brain seemed to only want to remember the negative parts at that time.

I shook my head, as I felt like I was wasting a lot of time on the thoughts of me going out in to the wild, rather than me actually going out there to see what it was like for my self. I was right up next to it, and I knew it... I blinked at the same time too, as I remembered just where it was that I was even at in the very first place.

I was so close to the wild! That was indeed right! But at the same time too, I also realized that I did not know how to make it out in the wild. There were not going to be any two legs to feed me once I was out there. I was with a cat that was trying to teach me how to hunt in the first place, and I felt a bit guilty at the same time as well, as I had not been listening to a word that she had been saying to me in the first place.

I blinked a few times, as I shook off all of the thoughts that had been going in my head for quite a bit of some time, as I realized that she was speaking to me all this time, and I had not been paying any sort of attention to what it was that she had been saying to me at all, as I had been a bit dumb, and I had been stuck in my head.

I knew that was a bad idea once I got out in to the wild, as it meant that I would be missing out on a lot of things, and I could miss when it was that I was in danger, or when it was that I was any where near prey. Prey... That felt a bit familiar, and a bit important to me at the moment for some odd reason or another.

I looked at Night, the cat that was in front of me for a bit of some time, as I remembered at the same time as well, the reason why the word prey felt to be so important to me, was the fact that I had heard her, though I had not been paying all that much attention to her at all, as I did remember that she had said the word prey a lot, but I had just missed what it was that she was saying to me.

I looked at her, as she had her eyes squinted at me at the same time too, as I remembered at the same time as well, that she was trying to teach me how to hunt for mice, as there was a bunch of mice around the abandoned two leg nest that we were in right now. Before I had got so lost in my head, I did in fact remember at the very least, that she had shown me how to smell out when I mice was nearby, as they had a different smell than all of the other animals that were in the wild.

That was where it was that we had been at, as I was beginning to remember all of it, as I remembered that she was trying to teach me how to hunt the mice at the same time too, before I had got my self stuck in my head, which once again, I knew it was a bad idea to be like that once I was out in the wild.

I shook my head, as I then lifted my head up high in to the air at the same time as well, so that I could sniff out a bunch of the mice that were all around me in the abandoned two leg nest at the same time as well. I stood there for a few seconds, as it all smelt a bit bland to me at first, but after a little while longer though, I realized that I could smell the mice, as they were all around me, and I could also hear them as well.

I blinked a few times, as I gulped at the same time as well. I had to remember that mice were a lot more rare out in the wild compared to a place such as this one how ever. I shook off all of those thoughts, as I shook my head once again, as it felt like I was doing a lot of that at the current moment.

I had to focus on the cat that had been speaking to me for so long right now, and I knew it. I should be grateful that she had been nice enough to teach me how to hunt in the first place. I looked at her for a bit of some time, as my ears seemed to finally focus in on what it was that she was saying to me in the first place as well, as I did in fact listen to what it was that she had to say to me.

"Alright Kettle... What it is that you must do is, you need to, drop into a crouch and take all your weight into your haunches so that your paws have no impact on the forest floor. Pounce and when you are close enough kill it with one swift bite to the neck." She said to me all at once, as it felt like it was a lot for me to take in all at once, especially due to the fact that I had not been paying any sort of attention to what it was that she had been saying to me in the first place.

I blinked a few times, as I did my best to shake off all of the thoughts that felt like they still wanted to swarm in to my head at the same time too, as I knew that I needed to be focused on the she cat that was speaking to me right now. I gulped a little bit, as I was not so sure as to what it was that was going on with me right now.

I knew that my focus needed to be on the cat that was nice enough to teach me how to hunt, rather than be thinking so much in to detail about all of the things that had happened to me in my past, but for some reason, my actual body did not want to focus in on the cat that I was with at this current moment in time.

I shivered a bit, as I had my head a bit low to the ground, as it was a bit hard for me to lock eyes with the cat that was in front of me right now, due to the fact that I knew my self that I had not heard a word that she had said to me, up to this point in the conversation that she had thought that she had been having with me.

I let out a bit of a soft sigh to my self, as I knew that I needed to wake up, both physically, and mentally. I had got plenty of sleep last night, so I knew that the problem was my mental state, rather than it be the fact that I might just so happen to be tired, and not able to focus on any thing right now.

I blinked a few times, as I finally lifted my head up at the she cat, as I felt like now was my time to speak to her. I did not want her to give up on me, as I did in fact remember that she was teaching me how to hunt in the wild, and I needed that for my future. I looked at the old she cat that was in front of me for a little while longer, until I finally nodded in a response to her, and I then began to speak up to her at the exact same time too.

"Sorry... I am just sad that I am leaving so much behind with me..." I admitted to her, as it felt like I was confessing to her at the same time too, that I had not been paying a single lick of attention to what it was that she had been saying to me in the first place. I looked at the cat at the same time too, as I saw that she just had her eyes squinted at me still, as it did not seem to be that she cared at all as to what it was that I had just said to her in the first place. It just seemed like she felt like she was just simply here to teach me how to hunt, and the rest did not matter to her at all. I realized that this cat was not Ben, and I should not be fessing up to her. I let out a bit of a soft sigh, as I did my best to ignore the fact that she was still staring at me with her eyes squinted, as I then began to speak up to her once again, continuing the bit of conversation that she thought she had been having with me. "Why don't you just show me... I can smell a bunch of mice around us, and I am kind of hungry."

I looked at her for a bit of some time, to make sure that she had heard what it was that I had just said to her in the first place, and that she was not acting the way that I had just been, and not paying any sort of attention to me at all. She seemed to just stare at me with her eyes squinted, just as she had been doing before, as it did not seem like she cared what I had just said.

I felt like that perhaps, she had just given up on me, as I was a bit worried about that too, as she was the best source around to teach me how to hunt in the wild, and I was kind of blowing any sort of chance that I had. I did my best to not dip my head to the ground at the same time too, as I knew that this was one of these moments that I needed to stay strong.

I stood there for a bit of some time, as I then finally squinted my eyes right back at the she cat, as it felt like that was just what I had needed to do, to let her know that I was serious about all of this as well, as she then rolled her eyes in a bit of a mental response to me, since we were not speaking out loud to one another at all right now.

After a bit more time had passed as well, she let out quite a loud sigh meant towards me at the same time too I realized, as she then turned her head around, as if she was about to walk away from me, and just leave me hanging, left out to die and rot in this old two leg nest that I was stuck in with her.

I realized that was not the case how ever, as I saw her turn her head a bit towards me, with a grin on her face, as if she was bragging about some thing to me for some odd reason or another, I tilted my head, as I was a little bit confused as to what was going on in the first place, as all of the sudden I saw her dip her body a bit low to the ground.

I realized as to what it was that she was doing, even if I had not ever seen a cat catch prey before, I realized that she was in a hunting stance, as there must be a mouse nearby her, which I could not smell the exact mouse that she was going after right now, due to the fact that there was a smell of so many mice in this place with us.

I shook my head, as I continued to stare at her for a little bit longer, as it did not seem like she was going to look back at me this time, as it was clear that she had her eyes locked on some thing that was in front of her. I shivered a bit, as I kept my eyes on her, as all of the sudden, it just a flash, she made her move.

I blinked a few times, as I had seen her in that same spot for a while, but just in the blink of an eye, she seemed to all of the sudden disappear, as I was looking around the room, a bit lost as to where it was that she had gone off too. I had never seen a cat accelerate on the pedal that fast, ever before in my life!

What made it even more insane to me, was the fact that this was the oldest cat that I think I might have ever met in my life as well. I moved a little bit slowly around the corner, as I was a bit worried that I was scare a bunch of mice away, perhaps even the mouse that she had been going after.

As I peaked around the corner how ever, I saw that there was a cat, that had her head turned from me at the same time as well. I tilted my head, as I was a bit confused as to what it was that she was doing, as she had her head a bit low to the ground, as she just kept her head turned away from me at the exact same time too.

At first I was worried that some thing might have attacked her, but after a little while longer, the she cat turned her head over to me, as I saw a bit of a grin on the face of the cat, as she had her head held up a bit high at the same time as well, as it seemed to be that she was bragging about some thing to me.

I was a bit lost, as I had not a clue as to what it was that it could be, but after a little while longer how ever, I all of the sudden saw what was in her mouth, as I saw that it was a mouse. My jaw dropped to the ground, as I was not sure as to what it was that I should say to the old cat in the very first place.

I was just so amazed, and so lost as to how she had just done that. I had never seen a cat do that in my life, and what surprised me even more, was the fact that it was a very old cat that I had just seen do that. I felt like I would never be able to do that, but this old she cat had shown me some thing that I felt like I would have never seen from any cat, much less this cat.

The she cat began roll her eyes at me at the exact same time too, as it was clear that she had noticed the fact that my jaw had dropped so low to the ground. I then saw her suddenly begin to walk over to me, as I moved back for some reason, a bit scared that she might use her super powers that she had, to attack me, and try to kill me.

I blinked a few times, as the old she cat began to laugh at bit, even with the mouse that she had in her mouth, after what she had just seen me do, an the fact that I had a bit of a look of some fear in my face. She shook her head, as she kept on walking over to me, as it did not seem like she cared all that much in the first place.

I felt like I should act the same as she was, as I regained my self after just a few moments, and I held my self a bit high, as the old cat had a bit of a grin on her face as she then dropped the mouse right beside me. She sniffed at the mouse at the same time too, as I had heard that you should sniff the prey that you had caught in the wild, to make sure that it would not make you sick if you were to eat it.

It was clear that this she cat knew what it was that she had been doing. It made sense as well, though it still was a bit of a shock to me, as to what it was that I had just seen, but I knew that she was an old cat, and she had lived a long life as well. It was clear to me that she knew what it was that she was doing, as she had been doing it for quite a long time if I had to guess.

I shook my head, as I did my best not too look to surprised, and too shocked for all that much longer, as I closed my mouth, and I then nodded back to the she cat. I stared at the mouse that was in front of me at the exact same time too, as I licked my lips as well, as I was so hungry, and the mouse that I was staring at right now, looked quite a bit delicious to me.

Night looked at me for a little while longer, as she let out a heavy sigh at the same time too. I blinked a few times, but I ignored what it was that she had done, as I kept my eyes on the mouse, as I was just about ready to steal the prey that she had just caught, and run off with it, though just based off of how fast I had seen her go, I was not so sure how far I would get with it.

Night shook her head at me, as if she knew what it was that I had been thinking in the first place, and she had told me know. This cat was a bit of a mystery to me as well, as I felt like I should not be surprised if that was the case in the first place, as I shook my head to shake off all of those thoughts, as I looked back at her.

The old she cat had a bit of a slight grin on her face still, as she moved away from the mouse that was in front of me at the same time as well. I tilted my head, as I was a little bit confused as to what it was that she was doing, and if this might be some sort of test, to see if I was going to try to steal the mouse from her.

I blinked a few times, as I shook off those thoughts that I had been thinking about earlier, as I kept my head tilted at her, as I still was a little bit lost as to what it was that she was doing in the very first place. Night shook her head at me, as finally, after it seemed like I might have passed the test that she had pulled on me, she began to speak up to me. I looked at her in her eyes, as I then listened as to what it was that she had to say to me at the same time too.

"Kettle... Go ahead and eat that mouse, I do not mind, there is plenty of others for me to catch... I can tell that you are hungry... Don't worry... I believe that you were paying attention to me..." She said to me, as she kept the grin on her face for a little while longer, as she rolled her eyes at me at the same time as well. I still was a little bit worried, as I still was not sure if this was some sort of test that she was trying to pull on me still, as I stared at the mouse that was in front of me for a bit of some time. I had heard what it was that she had said in fact, but I was not sure how she had done it though. I blinked a few times, as Night began to speak to me once again, and I turned my head over to her, and I listened to what it was that she had to say to me again. "You get some sleep after that... I need you to be ready for the morning... We are going out going out in to the wild a little bit tomorrow, so that I can teach you how to hunt other animals."

I looked at her for a little while longer, as I began to realize that this was not a test at all, and she actually was offering the mouse that she had caught, over to me. I blinked a few times, as I still was a little bit in some shock, as I was not sure what to do still, as I just kept my eyes locked on her, as I kept a blank look on my face at the same time too.

Night rolled her eyes at me, not for the first time either, as I saw her turn her head away from me, and she began to walk out of the room. I was tempted to stop her, and ask if she wanted to share the mouse with me, as the few times that I had eaten fresh prey, I usually had shared it with the cat that had caught it for me.

I then realized that I could smell prey all around me how ever, and I knew that she could easily catch some more for her self, when ever she so pleased. I let out a bit of a soft sigh to my self at the same time as well, as I saw her begin to walk around the same corner that she had flown past when she had caught that mouse.

It was clear that she was going to get some sleep for her self, as I then began to remember what it was that she had just said to me at the same time too. She had told me, that we were going to go out in to the wild. I was so shocked, as I was not sure if I should be scared, or if I should be excited about the fact as to what it was that we were going to be doing tomorrow.

I had never been out in the wild ever before, and the only teams that I could think of what it might look like, were when I thought back on the blurry dreams that I had some nights. But now, this was my chance to see what it was like, and this was when I could make my decision on whether or not I actually wanted to live out there.

I knew that while, I might not be able to find my way back home, which I still was not sure if that was a good 2nd option in the first place, I did have another choice still, as I had remembered as to the fact that Night had offered to give me away to a shelter where I could get some new two leg owners.

I shook my head, as I shook off all of those thoughts at the same time as well, as I knew that my focus needed to be on the fact that I was going to go out in to the wild for the first time tomorrow, and that I was going to learn how to hunt other animals... Nothing after that seemed to matter to me, as I shook my head and began to eat in to the mouse that Night had caught for me.

I wish that I had caught it my self, but now that I knew how to catch mice, I felt a lot more safe, as I knew that I would have plenty of time to hunt tomorrow. I smiled a bit to my self, as all of the sad thoughts of what I was leaving behind, finally seemed to clear my mind, as I was now thinking of happy thoughts, as to what my future had in store for me.

As I finished the last bite of the delicious mouse that I had been tearing apart, I looked around the two leg nest that I was in for just a few moments, until I saw a safe place that I could lay to rest for the night, that no other animal would be able to get near me if they even tried to.

I smiled a bit, as I then hopped up the top of the wall, and caught my self as I got on top of the not so comfortable spot that I decided I was going to sleep in for the night. I was sure that there was plenty of other places for me to sleep, that would be a lot more comfortable for me to sleep in, but it did not matter at all to me.

I was just so excited for tomorrow, as I could not wait to see what it looked like out in the wild, and not just that, but I also could not wait to see what my future had in store for me at the exact same time too. I closed my eyes, as I kept the smile on my face, as I carried all of those thoughts in to my sleep.

I woke up, as I saw that I was not at all in the place that I had slept in last night right now. I tilted my head, as I then began to look around at the same time, as I was a little bit confused as to what was going on around me, and where it was that I was even at in the very first place as well.

I was kind of getting tired of it, as it felt like my head was still trying to convince me that I needed to go out in to the wild, and explore the vast world that was around me, but it did not seem to be that my head realized that I had already made up my mind, and that I was going to go out and see what it was like no matter what.

There was no need for my head to keep trying to convince me of some thing that I had already convinced my self as to what it was that I was going to do in the very first place. I shook my head, as I was tired of having all of these dreams as well, as I just wanted to wake up, and get on with my next day of my life.

I sighed, as I shook off all of those thoughts at the exact same time as well, as I then began to look around, to see all that was around me at the same time too, as I figured that I was in the wild, just based off of the fact that I saw a bunch of trees around me. I looked around for a little bit longer, until I spotted some thing familiar, out in the distance ahead of me.

I squinted my eyes, as I looked at it for a bit of some time, to see just what it was. I stared at it, trying to figure out what it was, and why it seemed so familiar to me, as I then began to draw a little bit closer to it, though it did not seem to feel like I was moving at all, as I got my self closer and closer.

I blinked a few times, as it still felt like I could not figure out as to what it was that was so familiar about the place that I was at right now. Well, that was, until I all of the sudden began to hear a bunch of noise. I looked around, at the direction that I had heard the noise come from in the very first place.

The noise seemed to be a bit familiar to me at the same time too, as it seemed to be that they were yelling some word to me, almost as if they were saying 'moo' which was a bit of a strange word for them to say, as it was a word that I had never heard a cat say to me in my life at all.

It seemed to be the only word that these big strange animals could say to me how ever, as I stared at the animals for quite a bit of some time. I blinked, as I then began to realize as to why those animals were so familiar to me, and why the place that I was at seemed a bit familiar at the exact same time as well.

Its because this was the same place that I had been at, in the last few dreams that I had been having, but I was in a bit of a different place than I had been at before, or at least, I was at a different angle than I had been, as I saw the big red strange looking two leg place in front of me once again.

As I looked in the distance, I realized that I could see the tall hill that the bit of a strange cat that I had met in my dreams a few nights ago, had told me to head over towards. I blinked a few times, as I began to look all around me at the exact same time too, as I looked around to see if I could spot that cat any where.

Sadly, the cat was no where to be seen, and I was a little bit disappointed by it as well, as though the cat was a little bit strange to me, I kind of enjoyed his company, and the happy smile that I saw on his face as well. I sighed, as I stared down at the ground for quite a bit of some time, until I then began to hear a cat mewing from not too far away from me.

I was a bit confused as to where it was coming from in the first place, as I then lifted my head up, to see as to what it was that was making all of that fuss any ways. I blinked a few times, as I looked ahead of me, at the strange red two leg place that I had been looking at a few moments ago, as that was where I had heard the young kit mewing from as well.

I could not see the kit, though I could hear it repeatedly mewing to some one, over and over again. I tilted my head, as the young kit seemed to be yelling for help. I was not sure what to do at first, but I figured that I should help the kit, as I lifted my self up, and began to head over to the two leg nest that was in front of me.

It was a bit big, and a bit scary, and I was a bit afraid to go any where near it, but I went under the fence that was in front of me, and kept of going to where I could hear the young kit repeatedly mewing from, to try and save the kit, as I did my best to ignore the fact that I was afraid of the big place that was ahead of me.

I stopped my self, as I suddenly saw a bigger cat all of the sudden run right past me, as it scared me a bit, as I had not seen in coming at all, as I was a bit worried that the cat was perhaps going to attack me at the same time too. How ever though, that cat did not seem to be paying me much attention at all, as I saw it heading over to where the kit was mewing at.

At first I thought that it was going to attack the kit, and I began to run over to try to save the kits life, but as I got a lot closer to where I had heard the mewing, and where I had seen the big cat run over to, I then saw that the big cat was right beside the young kit that was right in front of me, as he was doing his best to calm the kit down.

I stood there, and I stared at the both of them for a little bit of some time, as I was not so sure as to what it was that I should do. The big cat began to lick the young kit, as I then realized that the big cat was the father of the kit. I also realized at the same time as well, that these were the same 2 cats that I had seen in the dream that I had been in a few nights ago.

I also realized at the same time too, that this was in fact a dream that I was in, and there really was nothing that I needed to be worried about at all, as I calmed my self down a bit, as I just kept on staring at the 2 cats that were ahead of me, as I could not help but smile at the same time too, that it was clear that the father loved his son.

I was a bit sad, due to the fact that I wish that I could have had a parent to raise me, to be my side when I was afraid, such as the kit was, but I was more happy, due to the fact that I had the thought that some day, I would have a kit, and I would raise it up to be a good and a strong kit.

I looked up a bit for a while, as I smiled a bit too, having all of those thoughts in my head. I was not sure who my lucky mate was going to be, but I could not wait to see what my future was going to be like. I shook off all of those thoughts at the same time as well how ever, as I then heard the bigger cat begin to speak to his kit, and I looked at him, as I listened to what it was that he had to say to the kit.

"I know they look scary, but they are just cows! They will not do any thing to you so long as you do not get too close to them!" He said to his kit, licking the fur of the kit over and over again, trying to calm his kit down. The kit looked ahead of him, as I saw what it was that he was looking at, as I realized why he was so afraid.

He was looking at the big animals that I had been looking at earlier, and it made sense as to why he might be afraid of the animals, especially with him being a kit, they would be even bigger to him, than they were to me. I let out a bit of a soft sigh, as I realized that the kit was okay as well, and there had been nothing for me to worry about.

The father had been close by, and he had made sure to calm the kit down, as I was not so sure how much help that I would have been, as I was a complete stranger, and I might only scare the young kit even more. I sighed a bit, as I shook off all of those thoughts, as I was just glad that every thing was okay, and that the kit was safe.

I nodded to my self, as I did in fact remember at the same time too, that I was a complete stranger, and that did not help things one bit at all, as I was a bit worried that not only would I scare the kit, but I might also scare the father of the kit, and the father might get a bit over defensive, in trying to protect his kit if he saw me near their two leg place.

These were kitty pets I had to assume right? They did not look to be all that much, as they did not look to live in the wild, but they also did not look to be in perfect condition either. I blinked a few times, as I was not all too sure, but I shook off those thoughts at the same time too, as I hid back a bit, as I saw the both of the cats begin to head right over towards me.

I did not want them to catch me, as I did not want to get in to a fight with that big cat at all either. I sighed a bit as I watched them walk past me, as after a few moments, I realized that I was safe, as they went right past me, not seeming to realize one bit that there was a cat right beside the both of them.

I nodded to my self, as I kept on staring at both of the cats for a little bit longer, until finally, one of them began to speak to the other, which happened to be the kit speaking up to his father in this case as well, as I then listened as to what it was that the kit had to say to his father in the very first place.

"Thank you... I love you dad!" The kit said to his father. I saw that the older and bigger cat had a bit of a smile on his face, as to what it was that the kit had said to him, as it was clear that it had made him a bit happy, but at the same time too, I also saw a bit of a look of some pain in the face of that cat at the same time too, which confused me as to why the cat seemed to be so sad.

The big cat seemed to have every thing going right for him, as he could go out in to the wild when ever he wanted to do so, clearly, and not just that, but he also had a son that he loved, which was clear to me. Why might he be so sad? I blinked a few times, as the 2 cats then left the spot that I was at, near the strange wheat grass that I was hiding behind.

I blinked a few times, as it then began to hit me at the same time too, that in the dreams that I had been having with these 2 cats in it, the tom cat did not seem to have a mate with him, when ever he was taking care of his young kit. It hit me as to why it might be that the cat could be so sad.

Some thing must have happened to his mate... That must have been it right? I shook my head at the same time too, as I felt like it did not matter, as it was none of my business any ways, as I did not know the cat at all, and this was just a weird reoccurring dream that I kept going in to for some odd reason or another.

As I shook off all of those thoughts, it all of the sudden seemed to be getting quite a bit dark, as I looked around me, a little bit confused as to what might be going on. I stared for a few moments, as I suddenly began to feel some thing poke in to me, as I looked around to see what it was that might be doing so, as I was still a bit confused as to why it was still dark.

As I turned my head over to the thing that was pushing up against me, as it was a bit annoying, rather than it be painful, I then began to hear what ever it was that was doing that, begin to speak up to me. The voice of it seemed to be a bit familiar, as it was the voice of a she cat, as I listened to what it was that she had to say to me in the very first place any ways.

"Come on Kettle... Time to get up! I told you we were getting up early tomorrow!" The voice said to me, as I was a bit confused as to who it was that was speaking to me, and what it was that it was even talking about in the very first place any ways, as I tilted my head in just the slightest, as I all of the sudden then blinked.

As I blinked my eyes open, I then realized that once again, I was not in the same place that I had just been in. I was a bit lost, as well as a bit afraid, as I was not in the same normal place that I usually woke up in, in the morning, as I saw that I did not spot the face of the usual young two leg in front of me, like I usually did when I got up in the morning.

I was a bit higher up from the ground, as I looked around and saw the ground beneath me. I was not on the cat tower that I usually well asleep on most nights how ever, as the place that I was in was a bit dark, as well as the fact that it smelt quite a bit nasty at the same time as well, as I did my best to hide the scent that was all around me at the exact same time too.

I moved around a little bit, as I was lost as to how I had got to this place in the very first place any ways, I kept on looking around to spot any familiar signs that might perhaps tell me as to where it was that I could be at right now. I turned my head right in front of me, to see that there was an ugly she cat right in front of me.

I jumped back wards a bit, as not only did it scare me, due to the fact that it was a very ugly she cat, but it also scared me a bit, due to the fact that I had not noticed that it had been right beside me. I shook my head, as I shook off all of those thoughts at the exact same time as well how ever.

She old she cat had a bit of a grin on her face, as if she was enjoying the fact that she had scared me, as I squinted my eyes at the she cat at the same time too. The she cat looked at me for a little while longer, until she then shook her head at me, as well as the fact that she then began to speak to me at the same time too. I was still a bit freaked out, but I did in fact listen as to what it was that she had to say to me any ways.

"Come on Kettle! Lets go! We do not have all day! You did enough sleeping!" She said to me, as I then began to realize just where it was at, as I realized that I had fallen asleep at an abandoned two leg nest last night. I then began to remember at the exact same time too, as to how it was that I had got to this place in the first place.

My old friend, Ben, had taken me here just last night... But why was that the case again? It all then began to slowly come back to me, as the pieces were now beginning to fall in to place. That was right, he had taken me to this place, as this cat was going to teach me how to hunt, and how to make it once I got out in to the wild.

I shivered at the fact that I remembered that the wild was quite a scary place for me to be living at, but at the same time as well how ever, I also realized that it was what I had come here for. I had made up my mind, that I was going to go and live out there, and there was nothing that could change my mind at this point, not even the fact that I might have any sort of fear.

I let out a bit of a soft sigh, as I was glad that I remembered all of that so quickly, as I then looked at the old she cat, and I then nodded to her at the exact same time as well, as I smiled a little bit too, as I was starting to get quite a bit excited as to the day that I had ahead of me...

I was finally going to really see with my own eyes, as to what it was that the wild actually looked like. I smiled a bit, as I then began to stretch out a little bit at the same time as well, so that I could wake my self up, and get my self at least a little bit ready to the amazing day that I was about to have in store for my self.

I then shook my head, as now that I was done stretching, I then began to remember that she old she cat that went by the name of Night, was right beside me, and it was clear that she was waiting for me to respond to what it was that she had just said to me a few moments before now.

I blinked a few times, as I looked at the old she cat for quite a bit of some time, as at first I was not sure what to say, but then I finally regained my self, as it all came back to me quite a bit fast. I nodded to Night, as she still had a bit of a grin, as she seemed to be quite a bit happy to be teaching me how to hunt, as I then began to speak to her.

"Yes... Of course! You go ahead and take the lead, I do not know where it is that we need to go..." I said, as I had quite a bit of some excitement in my voice at the same time too. It was excitement that I felt like I had never had in my life before, as I was starting to realize more and more, that I had made the right decision in leaving the two leg nest that I had lived in for just about my entire life.

I had never been this happy before in my life, as I smiled right back at Night, as I saw her then nod to me at the exact same time too. I nodded back to her, as she all of the sudden jumped down from the counter, which was the spot that I had slept in just last night as well.

I blinked a few times, as she turned her head back over to me. I stared at her for quite a few moments, as it seemed like she was trying to tell my some thing. I was a bit lost at first, as I saw her all of the sudden squint her eyes at me, as it all of the sudden once again, came back to me, as I remembered what it was that I had been planning on doing with her.

I dipped my head a little bit low to the ground, as I was a bit embarrassed that I had some how forgot all about that, as I then jumped down from to counter, just as I had seen her do, and then I joined her on the floor of the old two leg nest, that it seemed to be that she lived in.

I was not sure how she could live in a place such as this, as it stank quite a bit, as well as the fact that it was a bit musty too. I was not going to say any thing about it to her though, as I did not want to upset her, as I was grateful that she was just teaching me how to hunt in the very first place.

Perhaps she just lived here because it was so easy to catch mice, I thought to my self, as I smelt the smell of mice, as it was a bit enticing, for me to try to catch one and eat it. I was not all that hungry how ever, as I had eaten last night. Plus I also wanted to try to catch some thing else out side, as I knew that mice was not the only prey, but it was the only prey that I had ever eaten.

I shook my head, as I smiled a bit, as I was happy for the day that I had ahead of me, as I continued to follow Night down the hall way of the abandoned two leg nest that we were in right at this moment. I saw some light at the end of the tunnel how ever, as I then began to realize that it was where we were going right now.

I was jumping off of my paws in excitement in my head, but I did my best to control my self physically, as I did not want to be too over to walls to the old she cat that was taking me to this place that we were heading over to in the woods. She had a bit of a smile on her face still, and I wanted to keep it that way, as I remembered what it was that Ben had told me about her.

As we continued down the long hall way, we finally got to the other side, where there was a hole in the wall, where it looked to be that a door had used to be there, but was no longer there how ever. Night turned her head to me, as she then nodded to me at the exact same time as well.

I blinked a few times, as I was a bit lost as to what was going on at the moment, as I was a little bit worried that I might have missed some thing. I looked at her for a little while longer, as I then just nodded right back over to her, as I just pretended to know what was going on at the moment, and what it was that we were doing.

Once she had seen me nod, she then headed right through the hole in the wall that was in front of us, as she then disappeared, due to the fact that I could not see all too well, as the sun was shining right up on me, and it was hard for me too see past the hole that was right in front of me in the very first place.

I blinked a few times, as I did my best to get my eyes adjusted to the sun light, as it was a lot different than the dark light that I had been in, whilst I had been in the abandoned two leg nest with Night. It was a bit hard, as I squinted my eyes a bit at first, but once I got my eyes used to the light, I then saw what was ahead of me.

My jaw dropped in complete shock, as it was the most amazing, and the most beautiful thing that I had ever seen in my entire life, ahead of me. Night was right beside me, as she kept the same smile on her face that she had not too long ago, as she was waiting to see my reaction to all of it.

She had a fairly good reaction, as I felt like I did not have a word to say about all of it. It was amazing... I blinked a few times, as I just looked all around me for quite a bit of some time, as I had a very big smile on my face, as it was the greatest thing that I had ever seen, as it was more amazing than any thing that I had ever imagined it to be.

I was now, insanely happy that I had decided that going to live out in the wild was what I wanted to do with my life, as living in a two leg nest might be safe, but it was nothing compared to the sigh that I saw ahead of me. I gulped a bit, as I was not sure as to what it was that I should do, or where it was that I should start off at.

I looked at it for a little bit longer, as I still was not sure what to say about all of it, as I was not sure how any cat could want to be a kitty pet if they got to see what it looked like out here. I shook my head how ever, as I finally got my self off of all of those thoughts at the same time as well, as I saw Night begin to walk ahead of me.

I looked over at her, as I could see that she was heading right in to the woods that were ahead. I was a bit afraid to follow her, not because I was scared, but more do the fact that I was still in a state of absolute shock, as to what it was that I was looking at, at this current moment in time.

Night kept on going for a bit, as it was clear that she was expecting me to follow her. She went quite a ways ahead, as she then realized at the same time as well, that I was not following her. She turned her head over to me, as I saw her squint her eyes at me at the exact same time as well.

While this was all new and amazing to me, it seemed to be like this was normal to her, and perhaps there was some thing that was better further ahead of me. She let out quite the loud sigh, that I was able to hear from quite some distance away, as she then began to speak to me at the same time as well, and I listened as to what it was that she had to say to me.

"Alright... Come on, lets go! I know it is a lot to take in, but there will be plenty of that going on today, so we might as well get it started..." She said to me, as I stared at her for a little bit more of some time, as if I had not heard a word that she had said to me, as I had quite a blank look on my face.

I looked up at the sky once again, as it was all such a shock for me to see, as it was just so beautiful, as the leaves in my yard never seem to have any sort of different colors besides a dark green tint in all of them. I had quite the smile on my face, as it was the greatest thing that I had ever seen.

I blinked a few times, as I saw from the corner of my eyes, at the exact same time as well, that Night was staring at me with her eyes squinted, as she did not seem to be enjoying this as much as I was for any longer. It came back to me about what it was that Ben had said about not getting her upset, as I realized that I needed to respond to her at the same time as well.

I shook my head, as I shook off all of those thoughts at the exact same time too, as I finally turned my head away from all of the trees that were in front of me, as I then looked over at Night, as she still had her eyes squinted at me, though it was clear that she knew that she had my attention on her.

I blinked a few times, as it then hit me as to what it was that she had just said to me at the exact same time as well, as I then nodded to her, to let her know that I had heard what it was that she had just said to me. She kept her eyes squinted at me for a little bit more time, but finally, she then nodded back to me, as it let me know that it was now okay for me to speak back to her, which I did in fact do so.

"Sorry... Its just all so amazing... You are right though... Lets go ahead and get all of this started..." I said to her, letting her know that she had my full attention on her, which I still felt like that might not be the case, as it was quite a bit for me to take in all at the exact same time as well.

She kept her eyes squinted at me, as if she was reading my mind, which I had thought she might have been doing the day before, as it seemed like she knew that she did not have my full attention, even though I was no longer looking up above me, to see what was ahead of me, and what it was that we were getting in to in the first place.

She looked at me for a little while longer, as I made a smart decision in getting all of this started, just as she had wanted in the first place, as I then squinted my eyes right back at her, as a bit of a sign to let her know that I was going to be paying attention for the entire day, rather than have my eyes all around me.

I knew that I would have plenty of time for that for the rest of my life, and this was a time that I needed for the rest of my life as well, and that I should be paying my full attention to her. She kept on staring at me for a little bit longer, until she finally let out a bit of a sigh at me.

She turned her head a bit around to see what it was that was behind her, and to see what it was that we were about to get our selves in to as well. She then turned her head back over to me after a little while longer, and she then began to speak up to me, as I then listened to what it was that she had to say to me at the exact same time as well.

"Alright... Lets go... We've got a long day ahead of us, for me to be teaching you how to hunt... Don't expect to catch all that I tell you about, I will just show you how to catch them..." She said to me, as I blinked a few times at the exact same time too, as it was quite a bit for me to take in there as well.

I had to figure that it was going to be a hard day how ever, so it came as no sort of surprise to me at all, as to what it was that she had said to me. I saw that she had her eyes squinted at me once again, as it was clear that she wanted to make sure that I had heard what it was that she had just said to me in the first place.

I did what I had done a few moments ago, as I squinted my eyes right back at her, as I then nodded to her at the exact same time too. She looked at me for a few more moments, as I then saw a bit of a smile crack on to her face. I did not smile back at her at all how ever, as I kept a straight look on my face through out all of it.

She rolled her eyes, as if she was telling me that I needed to lighten up a bit, which I was not sure if I could, as I knew that my mind needed to be focused on what it was that she was about to teach me today. This was going to be perhaps one of the most important days of my life, as it would decide what the rest of my life was going to be like.

I knew that I had to be quite a bit serious when it came to this. I looked at Night for a bit longer, as she then turned her head around, and she did not hesitate to begin to walk on to the woods that were ahead of us. I did not hesitate to follow her either, as we then began to tread in to the woods.

I was a bit worn out, as it had been the longest day that I had ever had to experience in my entire life. It was all done how ever, as I saw the sun dipping down low in to the horizon, and I saw a big smile on the face of Night as well, as it seemed to be to her, that she felt like her goal had been achieved for the day.

I wondered how many cats came to her for help such as this, because the smile that I saw on her face did not seem to be all that normal for her at all, as this did not seem to be a normal day for her at all, such as I first might have thought about her. I did have a good mind set though, and a positive attitude as well, so I had to figure that might have had some thing to do with it.

I shivered a bit, as gust of wind blew past us, as I saw that we were on the edge of the woods. In front of us was a flat terrain with not too many trees to be seen, as I saw at the same time as well, that there were a lot of rabbits in the big field. Sadly though, as much as I wanted to catch one, Night had said that she did not want to go out that far. I was not upset at her at all for that either, as I did not blame her for not wanting to go too far from home. Besides, I was not all that hungry any ways, as I was eating a squirrel that I had caught my self at this very moment, which I could not help but be proud of.

It tasted good, but it did not taste nearly as good as the fresh and fat mouse that I had eaten this morning though sadly, as I moved it around a bit, as if I was playing with my prey.

I sighed a bit, as I felt like I was no longer hungry, as I was used to not eating all that much, though I really was by no means a skinny cat at all. I pushed the squirrel back a little bit, as I felt like I was done with it, which seemed to be a bit of a surprise to Night at the same time too, as I all of the sudden, to my surprise, saw her head over to it and begin to finish it off.

I blinked a few times, as I was sure that she was one of those cats that had been taught when she was a lot younger, that you should not waste any food. I shook my head, as after a little while longer as well, Night then lifted her head back up to me, with a bit of a grin as she wiped off the blood with her paw, and then she began to speak to me, and I listened to what it was that she had to say to me at the same time too.

"Well... That is about all... I think we are done with all of this... It is up to you what you do next... You are welcome to stay in my place one last night... It is a bit dangerous out there, and I would enjoy your company one last night as well." She said to me, as I blinked my eyes at the same time too, as it felt like she old she cat was flirting with me.

I felt like there had been some thing that had been a bit off with her around me, but I just was not sure as to what it was that it could be until now. I blinked a few times, as I shook off all of those thoughts, and then I began to think on what it was that she had just said, as I heard coyotes howling out in the distance.

I shivered a bit, as I did not even want to think of what would happen if one of those were to get near me. I turned my head over to Night, as I felt like I should take in the offer that she had just given to me, as I had never spent a night out in the wild up to this point, and I was a little bit worried as to what creatures might come after me.

I looked at the old she cat for a few moments, as I saw her looking right at me, as it was clear that she was hoping that I was going to say yes. I felt like I had no other choice, and I did in fact not want to be alone tonight, as I dipped my head, and I then nodded to Night, as I began to speak to her at the exact same time too.

"Sure... Why not, I don't know where to go out here just yet... Might as well stay one last night..."
