A heart

Elsa and the other servants came to Landon. They pitied him a lot, because being in love with the demon crown prince was a ticket to a front row seat of untold pain and torture.

They got her away from the balcony and helped to him to return to the room. She was still paralyzed, her body shivering at the heartless act that the crown prince had done to those men just because of a lie that he had told.

"Relax my lady, you shouldn't take what the prince did to heart. You should rather be happy that you have a soft spot in his heart, hence he only have such a simple punishment," Elsa said trying to comfort her.

Landon came out of his shock when he heard what she had to say. "Simple punishment? He murdered people in cold blood and you call that simple," she said raising her voice to her.

"Yes my lady, what the prince had done today was simple compared yo what he normally does when he is offended. He only killed 65 men but had it been someone else who wronged him. It would have worse than this," she explained shocking the life out of the male. Landon had never seen so many people get killed in one place. He couldn't get the image out of his head and that according to Elsa was a simple punishment from the prince.

Landon couldn't take it anymore and got up from his seat. He looked at Elsa and spoke."I want to speak to the prince. Take me to him," he instructed her.

"Are you sure my lady, you should think this through. Offending him further would only make him more angry and you won't like what he will do next," Elsa explained trying to talk him against going to see the prince in an angry state.

"I wish to talk to him,"he insisted and Elsa with no other choice decided to oblige to his request. She led Landon to the garden where the prince was practising with his bow and arrow.

The prince stood with Ryker and Zaugustus by his side. They were shooting silver arrows at targets and see who has the best aim. The prince got his bow and arrow, he aimed at the target and went to release the arrow but Landon his hand. He lost control and released the arrow missing the target.

" Who dares?" he asked turning around.

"I do," Landon said confidently looking him in the eyes. The prince calmed down and said nothing more to him. "What happened? Why did you suddenly relax?" she asked in provocation but the prince didn't react.

He picked up another arrow and aimed it at the target his eyes never moving away from Landon's. He shot the arrow and it hit the bullseye, Landon knew that it was a silent threat from the prince. He was sure that he was annoying him but he was pretending to be calm. He didn't back down from the fight, he was done being afraid of the prince and he was going to stand up to him.

"I wanted to speak to you. Earlier when you came to me, you explained and said all that you wanted to say but even I have something to say," he stated in a serious tone and glared at the prince.

He waited for the prince to say something to him but the man just looked at him with no change in his expression. He listened to him and so did the others.

"I will take your silence as permission for me to continue speaking. You know you remind of a queen that I once saw in a movie. The movie was called The never ending story. Do you know what happens in the movie?" he asked but received the same silence.

"I will tell you if you dont know. The thing is that there us this boy named Basti he gets transported into a novel to save it from the wicked ways of the queen. He had a lot of wishes he could make with every memory and the queen tricked him into using close to all his wishes on stupid things. Until he only had one wish left. He had his best friends life on the kingdom to save. So he thought carefully on what to wish for before making a wish. He then made a wish, can you guess what wish he made?" he inquired and the kings adviser thought about but shook his head not find the answer.

The prince on the other hand just stared at him with a bored expression on his face. "He wished for the wicked queen to have a heart, with a heart the wicked queen got to realise the suffering that she was causing to the people. The guilt engulfed her and she made a cried. When her tears hit the ground every spell she had ever cast on the kingdom was lifted. The boy saved everyone and returned home to his family," he said concluding the story.

The prince picked up another arrow unaffected by the story and continue to shoot the target never missing his shot. He paid no attention to him or his story.

"In the same way, I will save Arcadia from your wicked ways. I will give you a heart just like he did the queen and make you feel the pain you inflict on others. You will also cry with regret when all is done and you will understand how wrong what you do is," he vowed. Elsa gasped and the other two men looked at him like they were looking at a ghost.

It surprised them how brave she was to confront the prince like that. When even the late king was too afraid to do it, they prayed for her soul and hoped that she would be spared from the demon's wrath.

Landon was not just hurt by what he did but he was offended. As a human he couldn't stand by and watch the prince continue with his inhumane ways. The prince stopped shooting the arrows and turned to him.

"Good luck," he said and walked away from the garden.
