Chapter 1: were they even worth it?

is space really that big like everyone says it is?

does it really have no end to it?

what if there is an end to it, a wall?

wooyoung had thought about this several times, never really coming to a conclusion if space really had an end or not. he really wanted to know, though. he would definitely travel to space someday, just to experience something not all humans can. that is why he had to study hard so he could achieve his dreams some day.

another thing he had always wondered about, was what if there was life out there. what if there was someone watching humans right at this moment? wouldn't that be cool? at least wooyoung thought it was pretty cool.

no one really understood why wooyoung was so interested in space and science. even his friends cringed when he mentioned how big the sun was or how vast the universe was. he always got a glare from them, and because of that, he stopped telling them all his discoveries about space.

he wanted someone that would understand him and love him as he is. not some fake friends that didn't care about his dreams and interests. and because of this, he decided to end their friendship.

walking to them as they stood in front of the classroom, calling for them, he took a deep breath. "I'm sorry, but if you can't appreciate my interests and ignore me every time I talk about them, I don't think I can be with you guys anymore..." wooyoung said. his friends were obviously pretty shocked, but to be honest, one of them just smirked and whispered something to the other.

"if you think so low of us, get lost." his friend said and left with the rest of them, leaving wooyoung by the door, startled.

"did they just, turn the tables and leave me instead?" he blinked and watched as his ex-friends laughed together, pointing fingers at him and laughing a little more. "they're making fun of me now, huh?" wooyoung sighed and walked away, not bothering to go to class anymore.
