"Yes dear I was but I evolved into the immortal you see before you."

"So if you evolved why where all those bodies still in their pods. and also you haven't told me where we are I don't know why but I'm beginning to get furious!" I said, starting from a low tune to a higher note.

"If evolution were that easy the Androids would be vanquished before you came into existence Aria! Now would you listen to me or keep on whining like the bloody baby you are!!!!!" those words struck me like lightning. I couldn't say anything afterwards. He was saying the truth I was a spoilt brat

"fine go on"

"Okay Aria but promise you won't interrupt me, I hate it as it is one of my petpeeves.

Before I evolved I was a human a normal human. My dad worked for the armed forces while my mom held a high rank in the CIA

The rarely paid attention to their kids. Well that's a story for another day" he paused testing me waiting for me to be aggrieved.

"It seems you learn fast. Good." he concluded that speech with a polite gesture

"The humans in the pod were all in a state of sleep so deep the won't budge even if the world came crumbling to the ground. This was because their mind has been transported to another state of being. A place of momentary relief and a place of Brutality. The Bloody Paradise. Humans where left to strive in a place where food was unnecessary, domain expansion compulsory and evolution absolute. This was TRANCE. The Terrestrial Range Area for New Changes in Evolution.

We were given strange abilities by this new world. We called it indispense. The abilities were chosen by our very own subconscious. Some didn't know what theirs were while some could guess at the very go. The evolutional process was simple. who would reach the Finish Line first. After some years spent in that hell hole trying to get to the Finish Line, humans began forming groups knowing that the won't survive this alone because the humans began turning on each other on their struggle for territory. I happened to join a group. the group of individuals I joined then were promising. We weren't like others who had forgotten their purpose for being there; evolve.

We traveled the world breaking into territories and fighting battles together. I never knew till this moment why we always won. Was it because our indispense were stronger than the opponents? or was it our bond as teammates or were we just made of pure skill? I never knew.

Soon after many years of conquest and accumulation of skill and experience we finally arrived at the Finish Line. All you need do was to cross it and you 'ascend' into the transitional state. It was easy after reading the manuals but on trying it out, the first person crossed the line carelessly out of Joy that his long journey had come to an end. But what happened to him after words was terrifying to us teenagers then; His body was reaped out from the inside out exposing his inner organs and a lot of blood. We couldnt guess where his face was anymore. The guy was dead. We had no idea what was wrong. we were scared as well as terrified. We all had come a long way only to find out the Finish Line was just another name for suicidal landscape. Little by little we all tried thinking something was wrong with the first person or that he didn't cross it properly. The still all died in the same manner as the first. who could blame them the had been wandering aimlessly without a map of any sort creating enemies as the travelled. The just wanted to get out.

It wasn't long until I was next. Others looked at me out of frustration and pity as the knew I was going to die like the rest. But mine was different. I had a twin sister that travelled with me. Her name was Maya. She was always a scaredy cat. She never wanted to take responsibility for anything; even the activation of her indispense.

As soon as I crossed into the Finish Line, the same thing happened to me. The weren't surprised but were filled with the guilt of pushing their friend into an early grave. My sister cried helplessly and wanted me to live and so she subconsciously activated her indispense; immortality and all that came with, intense healing capabilities, eternal youth and the best of the ability, sharing immortality. She subconsciously shared it with me and I got the better half of it, but everything comes with a price. I also lost part of my abilities too to her. She never realized she had unlocked her true potential. This all happened before I died from evolution. I thought I was dead. But then a light shown in my eyes then I awoke, looking straight up to the sky I noticed I wasn't in TRANCE any more. I was finally back on Earth but it wasn't as I had left it. Blood and traces of rusted metal filled my nose. I immediately made my way towards the ground above only to find Sky Camp under attack. It wasn't all that surprising as I had already experienced it at trance; the blood I mean.

" Mark I'm lost"

sighs"where then "

"no not like lost in the story I meant here right now, this woman that wanted kill us why is she here staring at me like I'm the plague."

"oh her she's old news"

"No I'm not!" the woman said angered by his speech.

"Am I permitted to ask your name" I questioned, with caution and politeness.

"Annabelle. Annabelle Scourge"

"Okay can I call you Anna.?"

"Do feel free to. At least you asked for permission" she said glancing at Mark who as polite as he always was , had a little glitch on the inside
