113. War

Alex got to the Barracks as all the soldiers stood up on attention. Their bodies were like taut bows that were ready to wreck the enemy.

There was a temporary raised platform that looked simple and was made of wood. It was put in place to let Alex give a speech before they leave for the attack.

Alex looked at the soldiers that were standing at attention and looking straight at the platform without moving their necks or eyes.

You could see excitement and nervousness in their eyes but they stood firm without letting their emotions affect their performance.

Alex secretly nodded his head as he was pleased with their performance. As they say, A good enemy is better than a dumb ally.

Alex got on the platform as he looked down at the soldiers. The atmosphere was bubbling with tension and anticipation.

"Today, we are gathered here to finally carve our names into the history of this continent. Carve it into this world". Alex started slow as he used his heavy and majestic voice.

"There, behind those walls and past the desert. The enemy awaits our arrival. Ready to plunge their hot bullets and cold weapons into our bodies to turn us to shreds". Alex pointed towards the walls as his voice grew to a higher decibel.

"But we are not fighting for selfishness. We are fighting to provide a better living environment to our fellow living beings and our families and relatives". His voice contained passion in it that started to generate a strange vigour into the soldier's hearts.

"Are you willing to fight for these beliefs!" Alex's voice grew to a loud shout as it reverberated to all corners of the Base City. He was using his powers for this.

"We are!" The soldiers yelled.

"Are you going to fight like this with such low vigour. Answer me like you mean it! Are you willing!" Alex said again with a loud voice.

"We are Willing!" Soldiers yelled with everything they had in them. The generals and the girls couldn't help yelling when they heard Alex's words as well.

"So march on!" Alex said as the whole army started marching from the Castle all the way straight to the outer walls.

The show of strength and vigour made the other's heart tremble as they watched them. People were looking at the army with hope and some with nervousness.

The nervous ones were the relatives of the people in the army. They didn't know if they will see them alive when they come back. So this could the last time. Everyone had their hearts in their throats.

The army marched out of the city as they boarded vehicles and travelled on the desert plains at a fast pace.

In a short amount of time. They were standing in front an army that was about to charge at them.

Alex looked at the army as he saw the magnitude of people approaching. He looked at the general by his side.

"Get the barracks. We need to be on the offensive". Alex said as the army quickly occupied the fort and the barracks in front of them.

After the post was taken over from the previous soldiers. Everything was ready and the enemy would meet them in half an hour at most. Which was more than enough time now.

The enemy generals and leaders marched on as they stopped a distance away from the fort. A general came out of the encirclement and looked at the fort.

"Our leader has a proposal!" The general yelled as his voice reached the fort.

A general from Alex's camp also came forward and looked over at the enemy.

"What proposal?" He asked.

"Our leader suggests that we face off with only the high end power of our armies to make sure that not many people die". The general proposed as he looked at the general on the fort.

"Wait and I will discuss with the leader". The general said as he turned back and walked over to Alex.

After telling him of the enemy's proposal. Alex thought about it deeply and agreed. 'It will be good avoid unnecessary deaths and I don't fear their traps'.

Alex agreed as he relaxed back in the chair. He was waiting for the enemy to give the signal and they would meet in the middle at a certain distance away from the rest of the army.

Their fight could injure their own armies. So it was best tot ale the fight elsewhere rather than just fighting close to their soldiers.

They waited for about ten minutes and a signal was sent like a flare. Alex got up from his seat and started heading outside.

He got on the fort's wall as he looked at the enemy generals and the leader standing in front of him. They were ready to act at any moment.

"Follow us to a different place from the here". The general said as he looked at Alex.

The general standing beside Alex looked at him and after Alex nodded, he spoke. "Lead the way".

Hinata, Astolfo and Saeko followed behind him with Raikou, Albedo, Zest and Hancock were also following to greet the enemy head on.

They rushed for a while and got to a large distance away from their armies. Everything was relatively clean here with an open plain in all directions. It was nothing but sand.

Alex also didn't dawdle as he stepped on the ground hard and dashed at the enemy with Rhitta in his hand raised high.

The enemy leader was also expecting the attack. So he didn't waste time as he used the sword in his hand to clash with Alex head on.

The shockwave of their clash sent the nearby generals flying. There was too much difference between them and they couldn't interfere in this battle at all.

Raikou shielded their side and made sure that none of the generals from their side were hit by the shockwave.

The starting clash was great and the giant pit formed below the two leader's feet spoke volume of their strength.

The battle for hegemony had just begun.
