The logical choice. (Alternative 2)

Finally, I turned to Monoma, who had been watching me this whole time with an ear to ear grin.

"Now as for you, how about you just surrender, Monoma?"

"Why?" He asked, "Your hands are bruised and with than angle, likely broken. Your legs aren't doing much better I presume? I am sure to win this? So tell me, why should I surrender in the face of absolute victory?"

"Because you'll get your ass beat by a guy with broken hands and cramped legs in front of the whole country. That will be humiliating. So I'm giving you the chance to just surrender. Just take it." I advised.

He spread his arms, as sparks began to fly within them.

"How about no?" He said, as he exploded forth with Bakugo's quirk and aimed one at me.

I pivoted on one leg and kicked his hand away, redirecting the explosion, before leaping away and stopping him in place.

He smiled deviously as he switched quirks.

With a swing of his hand he froze my right half in a wall of ice.

In return, I immobilized him and all of his fingers individually just in case.

In the meantime, I kicked at the ice wall with my free leg, breaking away at the cost of my right leg, which was now broken and numb.

As I hobbled on one leg, I gave him one last opportunity to surrender.

"Last warning Monoma. Just forfeit the match before I brutally humiliate you in front of the whole country." I shouted out loud.

"What? Are you delusional? Of course not! I doubt you can continue holding me much longer! In fact, you don't even look like you can stay concious!

I just need to wait you out! Ahahahaha!" He mocked.

Briefly, I considered whipping him with the help of the rebirth seed. But ultimately I decided against it. It's best not reveal all the cards in my hand ahead of time. It was the logical choice.

"Don't say I didn't warn you, Monoma!" I said, climbing up the air to the height of his head, rearing my leg back for a kick.

"Please! Not the face!" He cried.

"Too late." I hit him square in the jaw, knocking him out with a painful concussion.

Swiftly, I dropped to the ground and with a progressive set of kicks, threw him off the stage.

Next, I turned to Shinso, who was still stuck at the edge of the stage.

"Are you going to forfeit or...?" I asked him.

He looked around before sighing in defeat.

"I forfeit." He said.

I undid his bindings as he stepped off the stage with an understanding nod.

I raised my fist in victory to a deafening cheer from the audience.

And with one act, I had cemented myself as a contender for not only the top three of UA but also for the future position of the number one hero.

"Another overwhelming victory for Shikimori Haru! And it was cutting pretty close at some points there. But Haru has been pulling miracles one after the other today!" Mic said.

"Not really." Aizawa-sensei said, "Haru wasn't fighting efficiently. He could have ended the fight far sooner and with fewer injuries. His quirk is especially built for that. And yet he gave in to emotions mid fight and dragged it on in a completely irrational fashion. In fact the only logical choices he made were done in the last moments of the match under desperate circumstances. Wholly unbefitting of a student of my class. I'll have to train such bad habits out of my class before they become endemic."

Damn. Who pissed in your coffee?

I'd like to see you fight nine of the strongest students and do better!

Then again, I certainly could have ended the fight quickly and decisively.

But I wasn't fighting just to win. I was fighting to clear three different events off my list.

1. To make Shoto accept the fire as his own.

2. To praise Shinso and hint at my immunity to his quirk, making me an ideal friend for him to rely on.

3. To spread misinformation about my capabilities to the villains who were likely watching the festival. If I won with next to no effort, not only would the villains be better prepared for me in the summer camp attack but the Hero Public Safety Commission would also be clued in to my power and send better assassins after me.

And I have no doubt that seeing my bruised and bloodied form was going to make Himiko fall deeper in love with me as she viewed the sports festival from her tv in the bar.

And I was planning on getting laid tonight.

As Aizawa-sensei finished laying into me, Recovery Girl arrived to heal me and the other participants.

Hmm! I took a deep breath, with great satisfaction.

This was a fruitful day!
