Mineta's Resolve!

I awoke to Eri laying on top of me, clutching my shirt with a death grip.

She'd woken me and Himiko up in the middle of the bight and asked to sleep with us.

It seems she'd begun having those nightmares again.

Jeez. I thought this was what the therapist was supposed to deal with!

Why was I even paying the bastard if he won't do his job right!?

I petted Eri's head gently, as he calmed down, and a small smile appeared on her face.

"Hehehee Papa..." she muttered.

So cute!

And looks like she's finally warmed up to me and the family, especially after the amusement park date.

Since then, she's been smiling more and more.

Guess humans heal in weird way, huh?

I still used trance on her and soothed out the mental blocks, just in case the nightmares return.

Rubbing my eyes, I gently phased out of the shirt, leaving Eri on the bed.

I turned to the other side to see Himiko already awake, looking at me with a cute homely smile.

"Good morning darling~" Himiko greeted.

"Good morning, Himiko. How long have you been awake?" I asked, stretching.

"A while. Long enough to see Papa Haru in action~" She teased.

"Oho! How about some daddy Haru too, to start the morning?" I said, kissing her.

"Hehehehehehe not here. Maybe in the showers?" She suggested.

"Maybe. Or you could come to the school. I am returning to the dorms today." I said.

"Yup. I'll be there in the evening, how about 5 pm?" She replied.

"Sounds lovely," I said, lifting Himiko in a fireman's carry, "but on second thought, maybe a little shower action wouldn't hurt either!"

"Uhuhuhu! I wouldn't mind it~" she cooed, as we went for a wild, wild shower, with a soundproof telekinetic barrier of course.

Wouldn't want Mom and Pop to be witness to our tango, now would we?

Now, I know I shouldn't be doing this eight months into the pregnancy, but I have a two dozen healing quirks and complete mastery over healing rise so that was never an issue.

I wouldn't allow my baby boy to be damaged by anyone ever.

With a short breakfast then, I left for school.

School really wasn't much of a concern anymore, to be honest, considering there would be no more UA in about a month, but the students certainly were.

They were behemoths, lugging about the name recognition and inspiring power of heroism from UA, alumni of the best if the best!

Which is precisely why they would have to be dealt a death blow to their morale.

But the war arc should suffice for that.

I used Laplace Junior and asked though just to be sure.

"Will the war arc be enough to whittle down the heroes influence to manageable levels?"

Yes, came the answer.

Good enough.

As I entered the classroom, a sudden hush descended over it.

"Haru-chan, how are you doing now?" Deku asked, breaking the silence.

"Fine and dandy! Never better. Now will you guys wipe that pathetic, sorry look off your stupid faces?" I said.

"If he can make jokes, he's obviously fine." Kaminari replied, heavibg a sigh of relief.

"You're damn right I am! I won't go down without accomplishing my dream!" I said, thumping my scarred fist on my chest.

"Hell yeah you won't!" Kirishima added, giving me a high five.

"So what did you do these three days?" Mina asked.

"Nothing much. Just the usual. Took the kids to the amusement park, had a romantic heart to heart with Himiko, even fooled around three hundred people into believing Captain Celebrity was in the park so I could get past the crazy long queues at the roller coaster." I said, nonchalantly.

"There's nothing usual about that!" Mina tsukkomi'd, as the class laughed.

Just then the door slid open, revealing a bedraggled Aizawa-sensei, dragging his feet into the room.

Behind him came three students, one blond, an airhead with curls and lastly a knockoff Sasuke.

The big three of UA!

"Get settled!" Aizawa-sensei said, looking worse for wear, likely due to the stunt I pulled with the HPSC.

"Now that you've completed your independent hero work studies, we can talk about your internships in further detail.

And to that end, we have your seniors here to talk about it, since they have first hand experienceas to how your work studies will differ from the internships you've been through.

These are the three third years who stand at the top of all current UA students.

The Big Three!

How about you guys start by introducing yourselves.

Let's begin with Tamaki."

We all turned to Tamaki, the Sasuke of the group, who was already glaring at the class, intimidating them.

In reality, he's just a very shy guy who has crippling stage fright.

He was even shaking ever so slightly, as his eyes defocused and he began to dissociate.

Cute! No homo, but that's very cute.

Reminds me of Eri when she first met my mother.

She behaved exactly like him, hiding behind me, or furniture or curtains, every time someone approached her.

After a couple of seconds of glaring at the class, he suddenly turned around and stuck his head onto the wall, muttering, "I can't do this. I want to go home already!"

Me too, buddy. Me too.

Especially since I have a delectable snacc waiting for me in my room.

"Oh listen Amajiki, that's called having the heart of a flea. You gotta man up!

You're a hero right?" The blue haired airhead mocked.

"This here is our flea, Amajiki Tamaki.

I'm Nejire Hado. You can call me Nejire.

The blond one is Togata Mirio." She explained.

"Yo!" Mirio said, before spotting me in the back.

"Hey! Haru! So you were in this class, huh? How's your wife's pregnancy going?"

"Very fine. Very very fine hehehe." I replied.

"You better be using condoms like Sir Nighteye told you! His predictions are almost never wrong remember?" Mirio advised.

"Yeah yeah. Stop worrying about me and get to the explaining please. I'm dying to know about what this work study thing is all about." I said, bypassing the barrage of questions Nejire had peppered the class with in canon.

"Yes. About that, how about I show you the difference in experience with a more practical demonstration?" He said, smiling mischievously.

"I'll fight all of you at once. That should, shouldn't it?"

Before anyone else could react, I answered him.

"Nope! No way. You'd get your ass beat in seconds. Hell, I could take on all of you here with my hands tied behind my back and win. And it wouldn't prove jack shit."

"Ohoho! That's an interesting proposition! You willing to bet on it?" Mirio asked, eyeing the class.

"Yeah, dont get too arrogant, bastard!" Bakugo shouted.

Surprisingly though, none of the others voiced any objections.

Have I really shown that big a difference between us that they don't even dare fight me?

"What do you guys think?" I asked, addressing them.

"Yeah, no. We won't win. Not in a thousand years." Kaminari said.

"You're just too overpowered!" Mineta replied.

"C'mon, it'll be fun!" I insisted.

"Haru-chan, I don't think you understand how unbalanced the difference in power is here. It'll be fun for you, but we'll be defeated in seconds! We won't learn anything from it either way!" Deku explained.

"Tch! Spoilsports." I pouted.

"Alright, raise your hands. How many of you are up for it?"

Seven people's hands rose up.

The usual suspects.

Shoto, Deku, Bakugo, Iida, and Mina.

And then, the unlikely heroes, Jiro and Mineta.

"Mineta-kun? Are you sure?" Deku asked, shocked.

"No! I'm scared, so scared. I don't want to get hurt, I don't like to lose.

But even more than that, I'm tired of being the weakest guy in class. I passed the same entrance exam you guys did, and yet I'm somehow always the butt of the joke.

Even when the league of villains kidnapped me, all anyone ever talked about was Shoto this, Haru that." He said, clutching his hands, nails digging into his flesh.

"Even when All Might came to rescue us, do you know what he said?"

Mineta looked up, mimicking All Might,

"He said 'I'll take young Shoto back!'

Not 'I'll save young Shoto and young Mineta'. No. Just, Shoto."

Mineta was now shaking with indignation, as a look of realization flashed on Shoto's face.

"Haru was right. So was Stain. Heroes are corrupt pieces of shit that can't be trusted.

They aren't there to save you if they can't get money or fame for doing so.

All Might is the exact same as them, just another fake bastard.

Because there was no fame or glory to be gained from saving ugly, ordinary Mineta.

Not compared to Shoto, son of the number two hero and famous pretty boy.

So, I wondered, if these fake heroes won't save people like me, who will?

That's when I remembered what Haru said to us when we met his son by the gate that day.

We have to become the change we want to see in the world.

I realized that it had to be me. If I don't do it, no one will.

I don't want to be a coward anymore.

I will, no..." he said, pulling out his provisional hero license, as tears dripped on it, "I am a HERO!"

"That's very admirable, Mineta!" I praised, "And very brave too! But make no mistake, you are just as worthy of being a hero as the rest of us.

And I can't talk about the others, but I have never once looked down on you!"

"I know Haru. You once told me, that with my quirk, I could become one of the top ten heroes in the country. Do you remember that?" He asked.

"Yes, I do. And I still firmly believe that!" I replied.

"You had faith in my abilities, when not even my own parents did! So I have a favor to ask of you, Haru.

If I can land just one, singular hit on you, you'll help me train my quirk to it's full potential!" Mineta said, extending a hand.

"You, my friend, have a deal!" I said, looking him in the eyes, slapping his hand in affirmation.
