"I want to do some shopping quickly. Chris, can you come with me and help me with something?" asked Sydney as she went off somewhere.
"I wonder where they are going too?" asked Claire, as she saw Sydney and Chris leave the group.
"That is a significant question, do you want to follow them, or do you want to hang around here for a bit of time?" I asked, looking in the direction of were Chris, and Sydney were heading in.
"I think we should stay here and wait for them to come back here," said Kyle, looking at the two as they disappeared down the hall.
"I wonder why they left the group like that?" asked Grace, as she looked around, looking concerned.
"It is probably nothing to worry about beginning with." said Blake, as he lifted his hand to the sides of his face.
"I hope you are right," I said, trying not to be nervous, but failing at it.
Earlier that month
Ring Ring went the house phone.
"I will get the phone," said Chris, as he walked into the office. "Yes, who is it?"
"It is Sydney. Can we talk?" asked Sydney over the phone.
"Are you sure that you want to talk to me and not Iris's?" asked Chris, with a look of confusion coming across his face.
"Yes, I want to talk to you since it has something to do with your sister," said Sydney.
"Do you want to meet in person, then?" asked Chris, looking around the room to see if there was Iris anywhere.
"Yes, I would like that a lot," said Sydney.
"Ok, then there is a park not too far from here. Do you want to meet there?" asked Chris, over the phone.
"Yes, that will be great. See you soon then?" asked Sydney, through the phone.
"Yes, see you soon," said Chris, as he hung up the call. "I think I know what this talk is about,"
Walking down the hall to the front door.
"Chris, where do you think you are going?" asked Iris, staring at her brother.
"I am going to meet Kyle and Blake at the park," said Chris, as he opened the front door to the house.
"Ok, but don't stay out too late. Be back by dinner time," I said, looking at my brother.
"Oh, there you are," said Sydney, as she walked up to Chris.
"Yes, is there anything that you want to talk about?" asked Chris, as he looked directly at Sydney.
Sydney took a few moments of time about what she wanted to say to Chris.
"I would normally ask yours and Iris's father about this. Since he is not here right now, I need to ask you this. Is it alright if I marry your sister?" asked Sydney, looking up at Chris with determination in her eyes.
Chris took a few moments to process what he just heard.
"Yes, you can marry my sister," said Chris, looking at Sydney.
Back at the mall
"What do you think we should do? Will we wait on Chris, and Sydney to get back," asked Blake, looking around at the shops that were around them.
"Let's brainstorm where we can go," said Grace, knitting her eyebrows together.
Just as she said that, two people walked towards the group. Pushing Claire, and Kyle to get past them, and injuring Grace.
"Ow, that hurts. Watch were you are going?" said Grace, as her voice trailed off and she fell to the ground.
"Iris, call your brother, I will call for an ambulance," said Kyle, as he took out his phone. as he also took his shirt off to use as a turn a kit on Grace's right arm.
"On it right now," I said, pulling my phone out of my pocket and dialing my brother. "Come on brother, pick up your phone right now. We need you here right now,"
"Yes, Iris, what is the matter?" asked Chris, over the phone.
"We need you back right now, something happened to Grace." I said, in a frantic voice.
"Ok, Sydney and I are on our way back right now," said Chris, over the phone.
I had the phone's speaker on so that everyone that was in our group could hear.
"Ok see you soon then," I said, hanging up the call. "Did you call for the ambulance?"
"Yes, I called for an ambulance. They will be here shortly," said Kyle, looking at Grace with a weird look on his face.
"What happened to Grace? Who were those people that walked up to us and did this to Grace?" I asked, with a mixture of worry and anger creeping across my face.
"How long is it going to take for your brother and girlfriend to get back here?" asked Blake, as he looked around the area to see if paramedics were coming.
"What are you saying, how long is it going to take us?" asked Chris, as he and Sydney walked up to the group.
"Ok, good you are here. Now all that we need is the parametric to get here," said Kyle, as he continued to apply pressure to the wound.
"I see them right now," I said, looking around the area.
"What is the issue?" asked one of the paramedics.
"Are friends injured," said Kyle, looking at where Grace was lying down.
"Then move out of the way, so we can help," said one of the parametric.
We made a hole so that the parametric can get through to Grace.
"Good. You put a tourniquet on her leg so that it would help. Great thinking," said another parametric, as she moved Grace onto a stretcher. "We should be off to the hospital right now. You can follow us if you want to,"
"Claire and I will go to the hospital first. Since there is something that one of you needs to do at the moment. You four can meet us at the hospital later on," said Blake, as he turned and put his arm around Claire's shoulder.
"Ok, see you two at the hospital then," said Kyle.
We watch as the two leave to follow the parametric out of the mall.
"So now that they are gone, what do we do now," said Kyle, as he looked around at the other four who were standing around.
"Why don't we take a stroll in the park?" asked Chris, as he walked towards the entrance to the mall.
"Great idea Chris. That being said, why are we going to the park?" I asked, looking at my brother.
The rest of us followed Chris out of the mall.
"If you all follow me we have somewhere to be," said Sydney, as she led the way to Griffith Park.
"Why are we going to Griffith Park? Syd, what are you planning right now?" I asked, looking anxious about what she was thinking." I said, looking between both my brother, and Kyle.
"You will see soon enough Iris." said Chris, smiling over in Sydney's directions.
The group walked over to the building at the end of the park.
"Sydney, what are you doing?" I asked, looking at Sydney, who had pulled out a ring from her pocket.
Taking a deep breath. "Iris, we have known each other for a long time. Even before we dated. Will you do me the honor of marrying me?" asked Sydney, looking up at Iris.
Taking a few moments to think about what I just heard. I took a deep breath. "Yes, I will." I said, looking down at Sydney, and reached out my left hand.
"Ok, I will just put it right onto your ring finger. There we go. Now let's get to the hospital by now. Grace should be out of surgery," said Sydney as she got up from the ground.
"True, she should be out of surgery soon," said Chris, making his way back in the direction that they can form.
"Then what are we waiting for? Let's get a move on. By the time that we get there it will be too late."I said, picking up the pace.
As a group, we ran from where we were to the hospital that Grace was staying in.
"What time will the hospital close?" asked Sydney, as she looked around at the group that was running.
"What Hospital did Blake say they were in? Did anyone call to confirm what hospital Grace was taken to?" I asked.
Everyone looked away from me as I said that.
"I see then Chris call Blake to see what hospital they are in at the moment," I said, as I looked at my brother with an angry look in my eyes
"Calling him right now," said Chris, as he took out his phone.
"What do we do when we get there?" said Kyle, wheezing.
"I don't know what we are going to do when we get there." I said think about what to do.
At the Hospital
"What are the visiting hours of the hospital?" asked Sydney, looking at the visitor visiting hours.
"The visiting hours show they are closed to visitors," I said.
"Well then, we should leave and come back tomorrow," said Kyle, turning around and walking away from the hospital.
"Yes, that would be that best option," said Chris, following Kyle away from the hospital.
We headed back to Chris and my house.
"What should we do right now?" asked Kyle, walking into the mansion.
"We should get some sleep. All that happened today is we will go to the hospital tomorrow morning," said Kyle.
"Good Iris, what is the time right now?" asked Chris, as he looked over at his sister will tilting his head towards the right side,
"You have a phone right, you can look at the time right brother." I said, as I stared at my brother.
"Right, I am sorry about that. My bad Iris." said Chris, looking sheepishly around the area.
"That is fine, we should head to bed. We will see Sydney and Kyle in the morning," I said, as I turned and walked up the stairs to the second floor.
"Well, we will see you here tomorrow morning then," said Kyle, as he turned and walked towards the front door. "Well, sis, are you coming or not?"
"I will be right behind you, brother. You don't need to tell me twice," said Sydney, shaking her hand. "Like what my brother said see you two tomorrow,"
They walked out of the mansion, as the front door closed behind them.
"Well, then I should see what Iris is up to at the moment," said Chris, as he turned and headed up the stairs to the second floor of the mansion. "It was hard to raise my sister without our parents' help. Sis, are you in there?"
"Yes, what is it, brother?" I asked, opening the door to my room.
"With everything that was going on today. How are you feeling?" asked Chris, as he walked into my room.
"My brain is going a mile a minute at the moment," I said, sitting down on a chair right by the desk.
"Do you want to talk about what happened today?" asked Chris, sitting on the bed, and looking towards his sister.
Signing out loud. "That is an understatement. That being said, do we know besides going to the hospital? I don't know what we are going to do." I said, looking over at my brother.
"Well, for starters, it is getting late.I would think that it would be a great idea to get some sleep and talk more tomorrow," said Chris, as he got up and walked out of his sister's room.
"We are going back to the hospital tomorrow, so we can see Grace, Claire, and Blake. Also, it was difficult for my brother to raise me without our parents here. Luckily, our dad's sister helped me out with things that my brother did not know what to do," I said, heading into bed for the night.
The next morning
Bang bang went the front door. I moved towards the front door. I opened the front door. "Yes, who is it?" I asked, looking at the two people standing there.
"Isis, it is Kyle and I," said Sydney, walking into the entryway. "Were is Chris at the moment?"
"He is in the living room at the moment," I said, walking into the living room.
Followed by Sydney and Kyle.
"Chris, what are you doing right now?" asked Kyle, looking confused over where Chris was sitting.
"What, I am just sitting here. That is all that I am doing," said Chris, looking over at Kyle and Sydney, legs crossed over each other.
"Chris, can you please sit normally," I said, with an annoyed look on my face.
"Ok, I will sit normally," said Chris, as he put his feet on the ground.
"Couldn't you just have done that to begin with?" asked Kyle, as he shook his head. "That being said, should we meet the others in the hospital?"
"Well, what are we waiting for, let us get a move on and go to the hospital," said Chris, getting up and moving towards the front door.
We walked out of the front door and headed towards Chris's van.
"When we find your parents, what are you going to do?" asked Sydney, looking over in Iris's direction.
"I don't know what I will do. It has been so long that I don't know what I am going to do. At least that is what I think at least," I said, looking out the windows of the van. "Chris, what are you going to do if you see our parents again?"
"I guess I would ask them why they left us alone in the house for so long," said Chris.
We drove to the hospital where the rest of the group was staying.
"We should figure out what room the others are in," said Sydney, walking over to the help desk.
"This might take a while to figure out where the others are at," said Kyle, looking over at Chris and Iris. "At least that is what I was thinking,"
We followed Sydney over to the receptionist's desk.
"Is named Grace in this hospital?" asked Sydney, looking at the receptionist.
"Grace, you said the name of the person was. Let me see, give me a second to see if we have someone by that name here," said the receptionist, looking at the computer that was in front of her.
"We have someone by that name here. What is your relationship with the patient?" asked the receptionist.
"We are friends of that person," I said, looking around at the others that were gathered around. As they nodded their heads in affirmation.
"I see why don't you sit in the waiting room," said the receptionist, pointing at some chairs. "What is your name so that you can see your friend?" asked the receptionist.
"My name is Iris. The people with me are Chris, Sydney, and Kyle," I said, looking at the three that were with me.
We walked over to the chairs and waited to be called to go in.
"What are we going to do when we wait to be called?" asked Sydney, as she looked around the room that we were in.
"That is a question that I don't know what to do at the moment. That being said, all that we need to do right now is wait to be called," said Kyle, looking at his sister. "I wonder how long it is going to take to get called,"
"Let us wait and see what happens next," said Chris, as he closed his eyes as he waited to be called.
"That makes sense to me. There is nothing we can do right now. Except to wait and see what happens," I said, agreeing with my brother.
"What do we do? Will we wait to be called?" asked Kyle, as he thought about what to do while we wait to be called.
"I think that we just need to wait and see what happens," said Sydney.
"Then we will wait and see what happens next," I said.
We waited for thirty minutes to be called to go in.
"Iris, Sydney, Kyle, and Chris follow me," said Blake, opening the door to the inside of the hospital.
"What is going on with Grace?" I asked, looking over in Blake's direction.
"She is moving around at the moment. I think she is in physical therapy," said Blake, walking into the hospital room.
"What are we going to do while we wait for Grace to come back to the room," said Blake, as he sat down on one of the chairs in the room.
"Is Claire around here as well?" Asked Kyle, as he looked around the room.
"She went back to their house to grab a few things. She should be back soon," said Blake, as he looked bored.
"Oh, I see. That makes sense to me. Since everything was rushed over here. When Grace collapsed in the mall." I said, walking over to the window to look out over Los Angeles.
Blake noticed what was on my left hand. "Is that a ring on your left hand? What did we miss while we were at the hospital?" asked Blake, looking confused at what he saw.
"Oh, yes, this we will talk about this after Grace is out of the hospital," I said, trying to find a place to sit.
"That is far enough. Back to the matter at hand. What are we going to do now?" asked Blake.
"We should wait for Grace and Claire to get back to continue the conversation that we were having," said Chris, as he walked over to his sister. "At the very least, that is what I think we should do at the moment."
We wait for Grace and Claire to get back into the hospital room.
"Oh, you four are here! What is on your left hand?" asked Grace, coming into the hospital room in a wheelchair.
"Before that, how was physical therapy?" I asked, looking over at Grace who was in a wheelchair.
"Slow process for the moment. At least that is what the physical therapist was saying," said Grace, wheeling herself over to the bed. "If I have a hard time getting into bed can someone come and help me?"
We watched as Grace got into the bed to lie down.
"So, what were you going to talk about? Before I came in and stopped you from talking? Does it have to do with what is on your left ring finger?" asked Grace, looking over at everyone that was gathered in the hospital.
"Do you want to wait for your sister to get here to talk?" I asked, looking at Grace who was lying down on the bed.
"That makes sense to me. Why don't we wait then." I said, walking over to where Grace was lying down.
"Makes sense to me. Then why don't we wait for my sister then," said Grace, moving the bed up into the sitting position.
"That being said, what are we going to do till Claire gets back here?" asked Kyle, looking around the room.
"We could play a card game? What do you think?" I asked, looking around at everyone that was in the room." At least that is what I think would be a good idea."
Everyone thought about what to do for the moment.
"I can't think about anything to do." said Chris, as he put his back against one of the walls of the hospital.
"Well, I don't think that we need to do anything at the moment. Since I see Claire walking into the hospital as we speak," said Sydney, as she looked out of the window of the Hospital room.
"Then we should wait for her to get up here then," said Blake, finally getting up out of the chair that he was sitting on. "That being said, what are we going to do when she gets up here? Hey Iris, what floor are we on at the moment?"
"Why didn't you see when you arrived here to begin with?" I asked, as I looked over in Blake's direction.
" I ah…" Blake's voice trailed off into nothingness.
"Well, you Just stopped Blake from talking for the moment," said Kyle, as he walked over to his friend. "That being said, we still need to figure out the next steps to do,"
"Kyle, can we not talk about that at the moment." said Sydney, glaring at her brother.
"What did I say something wrong or what?" asked Kyle, as he looked around the room looking very confused at what was going on at the moment.
"Well, no, not exactly. Still, we should wait till Claire gets up here to continue the conversation," I said, as I looked at the door to the room that we were in.
Just as I finished what I was saying the door to the hospital room swung open.
"Oh, everyone is here now. What were all of you talking about just now? If you don't mind me asking." said Claire, as she looked around the room. Then moved to one of the tables beside the bed that Grace was on. "It looked to me when I walked into the room you were talking about something important,"
"Nothing gets by you at all, Claire. Look at what is on Iris's ring finger," said Grace to her sister.
"What? No it can't be. Is that a ring I see on your left hand?" asked Claire, looking at me, as I was still standing next to the window.
"Yes, that is a ring on my finger. That happened yesterday. Though that chose us to be late getting here," I said, holding up my left hand for all to see. "That was bad timing on our part. At least that is what I think it is,"
"Ok, this is a lot to set in at the moment. Where is a seat so that I can sit down for a minute or two," said Claire, as she looked around the room to see if she could find a chair or something to sit on. Not finding anything at the moment she sat on the hospital bed that her sister was laying in.
"Do we know how long your stay in the hospital will be?" asked Chris, looking over at both Claire and Grace.
"The doctor said that it would most likely be two to three days. Followed by a few months of physical therapy," said Grace, as she looked sad at what she just said.
"At least you will be in your own place for the recovery, right?" asked Blake, as he looked over at Grace.
"That is half right, Blake. I can choose either," said Grace.
The room fell silent, so silent that if a pin dropped, you could hear it.
"Well, this is getting awkward at the moment." said Chris, looking around to see what everyone was doing at the moment. "Did I say something wrong just now? I need to know if I did or not,"
"What is the plan now that we all are here?" asked Claire.
"Well, we could… Wait no that will not work since it is not allowed," said Kyle, piecing his lips together.
"Whatever you were thinking must have not been a good idea at all," I said, as I looked over at Kyle. As I tried to hold in laughter.
"No, I just feel embarrassed to have that thought to begin with," said Kyle, as he turned away to hide his embarrassment.
"We all can't stay here overnight. I think it is only the immediate family," said Sydney, as she looked over at Claire and Grace. "So the only person who can stay here is her sister,"
"Well then, what is the time right now?" I asked, as I turned from looking out the window to look at everyone that was in the room.
"It is five pm right now," said Chris, as he looked over at his sister.
"Then I suggest that thoughts who are not immediate family should leave at the moment," I said, as I headed towards the door of the hospital room. "Well, what are you waiting for? Let's get a move on,"
"Well then, we should get a move on then,' said Chris, as he headed out after his sister.
"We should follow them, don't you think?" asked Sydney as she moved towards the door of the hospital room.
"Then we should go then. Grace and Claire see you two later than," said Kyle, as he followed his sister out the door of the hospital room.
"Yes, see you two later," said both Grace and Claire together.
Now that only left Blake in the room with the two sisters alone.
"Well then, I should be off. Then the others will be back tomorrow," said Blake, as he made his way out of the room.
"Well, everyone is gone, what are we going to do now?" asked Claire, as she got up from the bed that her sister was lying in.
"That is a good question I don't know at the moment. Is there anything on the tv at the moment?" asked Grace, looking over at the tv that was on one of the walls.
"I can see what is on, but no promise," said Claire, as she got up for the bed that Grace was lying in. "Looks to me that there are no magnificent shows on at the moment that we can watch. Now, where did I find the remote?"
"You found it right beside me on the left end table," said Grace, as she looked sleepy.
"Well then, I will see you tomorrow sis. I will let the others know what your progress is. When I know it," said Claire, as she turned and walked out the door of the hospital room. To herself. "What are we going to do now that Grace will be in a wheelchair for the foreseeable future. Right now, it is not a good idea to dwell on what can;t be controlled,"
"Well, that is one way of putting it," said someone, coming out of the shadows, as Claire walked out of the front door of the hospital.
"Who are you? Are you talking to me?" asked Claire, looking around to see if other people can see him. Some people saw what was happening and walked away from the hospital.
"Oh yes, where are my manners? My name is Edgar. I have an interest in two people. That is how I should put this acquaintance with you. Though I think a more correct way is to say friend," said Edgar, trying to reach out his left hand. The hand looked like it was half there, and half not there.
"I should go. Like right now. I don;t know you. I don't know what you might do to me." said Claire, as she tried to turn and walk quickly away from the man.
"Well, this is going to be interesting. Founder wherever you are. Whenever you are, I will find you," said Edgar, as he disappeared into thin air.
"That guy gave me the chills. What made him so unnerving to begin with. If my memory serves me right, his left arm was a bit off. Also looked very freaky too," said Grace, as she shivered a bit just remembering the interaction she had with that man.
"Well, it is not like I can do anything about it right now. So I say at least for the moment I should not worry about it at all," said Grace, as she headed back to her house for the night. "I need to talk to the other tomorrow about what happened to me outside the hospital,"
The next morning, outside of Chris and Iris's house. "What is taking the others so long to get here. In the group chat last night, I told them to be here by ten. It is almost eleven now!" Yelled Chris, as he looked around the driveway to see if anyone was coming out the driveway.
"Brother, you need to give them time to get here. The only people whose house is closest to us are Sydney and Kyle," I said, trying to calm down my brother.
'You have a good point, Iris. Still, it is annoying that I told them what time to be here, and no one is here," said Chris, as he tries to calm himself down.
"I can't say I don't see your point. Since I see your point, brother. That being said, we still need to wait for them to show up," I said, as I tried to reassure my brother. "Look, I see two people right now. All we had to do was to wait,"
"Kyle and Sydney are walking up to us, but I think something is off," I said, walking down the driveway.
"Syd, why do you and Kyle look like you saw a ghost?" I asked, looking between the two of them.
"We just got off the phone with Claire. Something happened to her that got her spoked," said Sydney, as she walked over to Chris and I.
"Should we wait and see what Claire says when she gets here?" I asked, as I hugged Sydney to see if that would calm her down.
"Yes, that would be a good idea. Why don't you two come in? Will we wait on Blake and Claire to get here," said Chris, as he turned and walked into the mansion.
"Ok, we will follow your lead then," said Kyle as he follows Chris into the mansion.
That only left Sydney and me outside of the mansion.
"Yesterday was interesting," said Sydney as she walked over and stood beside me.
"Yes, I am still trying to wrap my head around all that happened yesterday," I said, as I turned my head towards the right where Sydney was standing. "We should probable head inside before our brothers worry where we are,"
Laughing at what I was saying, "Yes, let's go inside before.." Sydney was still talking when a noise happened from inside the house.
"Syd what was that noise?" I asked, as I walked into the house.
We walked into the house and saw a mess in the living room.
"Brother!!! What did you do in the living room!!!" I yelled in the living room.
"Chris, I think you are in trouble," said Kyle, looking over at Chris. "You should see what your sister is yelling about,"
"Ok. Ok. I will see what my sister wants to do," said Chris, as she walked into the living room. "Iris, you wanted to see me?"
"What is going only here. We were only outside for a few minutes, and now look at this," I said, looking around the living room. With both hands outstretched. With my eyes looking at my brother with the are you serious tune.
"Ok. I see why you are annoyed right now. That being said, all of this is on the ground. Do I need to pick this up by myself?" asked Chris, looking over at his own sister.
Chris picked up the mess that was strewn all over the living room.
"See you later my dear brother," I said as I turned around and walked out of the living room.
"Are you not going to help me with this?" asked Chris, as he lifted both his arms.
"I will not help you, since it is your mess. I don't know how you made the living room a mess. Before Syd and I got into the house," I said, as I turned around and walked out of the living room. Stopping in the doorway. "When you are done cleaning up. Meet us in the dining room."
"Are you sure that you want him to clean up the living room by himself?" asked Sydney, looking up as I sat down at the dining room table.
"No, but it is his mess to clean up in the first place. Oh, I know what we can do, my brother will do that." I said, Looking over at both Sydney and Kyle.
"What do you have in mind to do? Can I not ask that to begin with?" asked Sydney as she tilted her head.
"Let's go to the office, who knows what else my brother and my parents are hiding in there," I said, getting up from the dining room table.
"What are we looking for when we get into the office?" Asked Kyle, as he looked around the office room. "That being said, I don't know what we are looking for?"
"That is at least this is what I think it is. Look for something that you think is out of the ordinary," I said as I looked at the desk.
"Makes sense to me and you need to start somewhere right. I think I will start with the bookshelves," said Sydney, as she headed over to one of the bookshelves that was next to the door to the office room. "This might take me a bit of time since it looks to me that there are at least ten different bookshelves in this room."
As Sydney went through one self at a time.
"I guess l will find something here to find something," said Kyle, as he looked for anything that was out of the ordinary.
"Let me check to see if I found something," I said, from under the desk. I push what looks like a Big W on the bottom of the desk. Click something on the left wall, as you enter the office room. "What was that noise just now?"
"Sorry, that I am late cleaning up. Also, the least two are here. Since Grace is still in the hospital at the moment," said Chris, as he, Claire, and Blake walked into the office room.
"Syd, if you will not mind, can you see which bookshelf is a secret door," I said, looking over at my fiance.
"Ok, I will go from bookshelf to bookshelf till one of them moves," said Sydney, as she started at just in front of the door. Then worked her way down till the fourth bookshelf. "This bookshelf seems hollow to me. At least that I what I think,"
Knocking her hand against the bookshelf. After she did that, the bookshelf swung away from her.
"Well, what are we waiting for, let's see what is down there," said Chris, as he walked down the stairs. "In all my life so far I didn't know this was here at all,"
"I totally agree with you, brother. I didn't know about this ether," I said, doing my best not to trip on the stone stairs. As torches lit the way down the stairs. "This had to have been built before you or I were even born. It is also possible that it was built when you were a baby, Chris."
"That is a valid point, one that I can't overlook," said Chris, as he reached for one of the torches that was on the wall of the staircase.
"Is it just me or does it seem to you that your parents didn't want you to see this?" asked Claire, as she looked around with a scared look going across her face.
"Yes, that is a valid point. That being said I do have a question for the group," said Kyle, as he took a deep breath then exhaled. "Should we be even doing this to begin with? I feel like this will get us into more trouble down the line,"
"I see your point brother, but their parents have been missing for a very long time. I think they would want their parents back even more now than ever," said Sydney, as she looked up at her brother.
"True, you make a good point. Especially after what happened yesterday," said Kyle, as he walked past Chris who was holding up the torch. "What is that down there?"
"What is it Kyle? What do you see down there?" I asked, trying to see past the wall that was both Chris and Kyle's bodies.
"I think I see a door down there." said Kyle, as he pointed down the stairs.
Sure enough, there was a down with a latch that spanned the entrance door. The latch and its look were made out of metal. The door itself was made of wood.
"Take about an old-fashioned door," said Sydney, as she pushed her way past her brother. "What do you think is behind this door?
"There is only one way of knowing what is behind that door. That is to open the door and find out the wait is behind it." I said, as I moved towards the latch that held the door in place. Putting one of my hands onto the door, and tried to pull it open. "The door latch will not budge for me at all,"
"Let me see if I can make it move," said Blake, as he walked up to the latch that held the door in place. Reaching out his left hand and pulling on the latch that held the door in place. After a bit of struggling, he pulled the door open. "Well, the door is open now. Do we go in and see what is inside the room that is on the other side?"
"Yes, I think that we should have come this far to begin with," said Chris, as he walked into the room. "Well, what are you waiting for? An invitation to come into the room or what!"
The rest of us went into the room one right after another. On the wall facing the door, it looked like there was a map of the world on it with thumbtacks in what looked like important places. Lining the walls on the right and left sides with bookshelves, but no books. The only things on the bookshelves were pieces of parchment. That were rolled up like scrolls of some kind.
"Hey everyone I think there is something that you should see," said Sydney, as she pointed under the map of the world.
"It's that another desk under the map of the world?" I asked, as I walked over to the deck. "What is this on the desk?"
We all walked over to the desk.
"Looks to me it is another journal. Though I don't know why it is down here." said Chris, as he picked up the journal and flipped through the pages. "This is interesting to read. What do you think T.W.A means to you?"
"Does it say in the journal at all?" I asked, standing right beside my brother.
"No, it does not say what the T.W.A standing for. Though it says this finds the founder he will right the wrong that has happened," said Chris, as he closes the book. Placing it back where he had picked it up from."Also who is this founder to begin with."
"I don't know, but do we want to find out?" I asked, as I backed up towards the door that we came in. "That is just what I was thinking about. After Chris read from that weird journal."
As I got closer and closer to that door.
"I am with Iris on this one. The book is weird and gives me the chills. Let us just leave the book here and don't come back into this room," said Sydney, as she walked up to the door and stood next to the door.
"I see where you are coming from. That being said, we should do something, right?" asked Chris, as he looked around at the group that was gathered there.
"He has a good point about the book," said Kyle, as he walked over to the book and picked it up. "At least that is what I was thinking about,"
"Ok, fine bring it up so that we can discuss it more," I said, as I turned around and walked out of the room.
"That could have gone over better," said Blake, as he put his hand behind his head.
(Sigh) "Let's get a move on then," said Kyle, as he turned and walked out of the hidden room. "Who knows that there was a room hidden inside this mansion,"
"That is an understatement. Should we go back up to the living room?" I asked, looking around at everyone else.
"I agree with Iris on this one. We need more time to discuss what we just found," said Sydney, as she walked out of the room, and up the stairs.
"Should we follow her up the stairs?" asked Chris, looking around at the rest of the group.
