Prediction

Joseph and Ellie spawned on the roof of a building, it has rusty edges along the sides and a damaged hole where there once was a door leading to a staircase connecting the floors of the building. "Buy your usual loadout, leave enough points for a double jump." Ellie asked of Joseph.

At the start of every round, players have 30 seconds to buy what they need from a shop interface they can access by pressing the shop button. Players have 20 points to spend on the shop. The shop is subject to changes from the developers Full Force, which have been a point of criticism for the game especially when they nerf or buff a certain weapon.

Full Force does not want to limit the player from buying multiple weapons or utilities, thus they let players buy as much as they want from the shop and let them carry those weapons or utilities. A movement penalty is applied only when the player is holding any of the items, this means that a player with multiple weapons would only be slowed down by what he is currently using / holding.

While buying his loadout, Ellie went ahead and laid down a tripwire at the base of the staircase leading to the roof's entrance. The base of the staircase had another staircase coming from the third floor, players would have to turn around to go up the staircase leading to the roof. "When they come up, normally they would be looking at what is in front of the stairs and not at the roof entrance, which means we will be on elevated ground and facing them while their backs are turned against us while climbing the stairs." Ellie explained, Joseph scoffed at the idea and replied : "I would look towards where the stairs are heading, why would I ever look in front of me when there is no one there?" Ellie laughed and said : "They are pros right? That's what they would do!"

Right at this moment, Danny talked through the radio : "Testing testing, yo Joseph did you know that Oliver is actually that red haired DPS guy we played against yesterday?" .Ellie who brought the Team Radio, left it on speaker and open microphone when she brought it, letting Joseph hear what they are saying. "Yeah, he is." Joseph replied. "Anyways, how's your little date going Joseph?", "Going well actually , even better than your non-existent love life in school!" Joseph replied savagely. A burst of laughter came through the radio, Flare was heavily amused by Joseph's reply and couldn't stop laughing. "No wonder you have no friends Joseph!" Danny responded, fighting fire with fire. Before they could continue their exchange, the round started and the duo immediately started looking around crazily from the top of the roof.

"What are they doing? They are slamming their WASD keys like mad , are they trying to max out their APM stats?" Oliver thought as he took a quick glance over to Ellie's and Joseph's keyboards, he could not ignore their obnoxious key presses with hands that seemed like spiders dancing around on a keyboard. Their mouse movement was also just as frantic and anxious, after moving their mouse for a period of time , Ellie and Joseph would both reset their pivot upon dragging their mouse to an uncomfortable position. This would go on for about another 10 seconds before Oliver shouted at Ellie : "They are all there!"

"Two Takers ,three Burster, they are playing all DPS?" Ellie informed the team as her immense experience with the game allowed her to identity the weapons even from such a long distance without binoculars. Normally players would hide their main weapon as they are moving through the map and move without holding anything, this also made them move faster and scouts could not find out detailed information about the opposition, because of these reasons, players would eventually develop a habit to run barehanded. "Fire at them Joseph! Let them know we are here!" Ellie ordered Joseph. Joseph did not hesitate and started spraying horrendously off target at the opponents, "Oh yeah Ellie he doesn't know about spray patterns! There are also bullet drops to take into account!" Danny informed Ellie.

Ellie who did not seem fazed at all by this revelation replied : "Yeah you guys better come here quick, we are exposing our location to them."

"The F***?" , "What the hell?" ,"You serious?", a wave of complaints came through the radio, "I will reach there first before the rest! Please stay alive!" Oliver asked of Joseph and Ellie. He was confident in his movement techniques and also brought a bunny hop booster. Oliver proceeded to do air strafes while tracking his mouse movement to the direction in which he is going , initially it looked silly, a red haired dude bouncing around, but eventually he picked up the pace and left Danny and Flare behind in the dust.

"Is this how my team feel?" Flare thought to himself as he watched this Oliver bunny hop off by himself.

The academy players weren't playing around, upon being fired upon, they went into a zig-zag pattern, switching up their movement pattern as they gradually approached the building Oliver and Ellie is on. Their Main DPS, Mateo reached the building first, he entered via the main door and placed his crosshair precisely at the head level of the area, he cleared every angle perfectly, even using RAS to tilt his head at corners where other players could potentially be hiding at.

"Well now we wait for them to come up, they are gonna counter strafe every corner maybe." Ellie said with confidence while feeling bored. "I would do the same..." Joseph replied. "Then as I said earlier you should be with them!" Ellie exclaimed. They were both glued to the either side of the entrance, hiding in cover, awaiting for their guests to arrive. "You don't think they would just grapple up here? or even fly?" Joseph told Ellie. "They don't know how bad you are, but if they did that in an actual game, they would be traced perfectly and shot down mid-air." Ellie responded with a smug. "They are pretty bad if they can't snap and trace my head mid-air..." Joseph thought.

Finally, the academy players were all at the building, Mateo led the charge to go up the stairs, the players were spread out to prevent grenades from doing collateral damage as they climbed the stairs. "This is a common positional advantage involving the layout of the stairs, I will move backwards to pre-aim the next level." Mateo informed the team. He cleared every level this way and eventually he reached the third floor, he was very confident in his every actions and did not hesitate in moving up the stairs backwards while aiming at the entrance of the roof. He of course tripped onto the tripwire set by Ellie. "THEY ARE HERE!" Mateo screamed.

While momentarily surprised by the tripwire, he overheard a female voice screaming : "Swing now Joseph!" on the left side of the entrance, he immediately aimed at the left side of the entrance, at head level, anticipating a peek from someone. His eyes widened in shock as Joseph, appeared not on the left but on the right side instead! Mateo flicked his mouse with inhuman speed but Joseph burst fired with the Taker, filling Mateo's head with three bullets before he could react. "Being peeked and needing to flick? Unlucky." Joseph said coldly.

"Joseph follow me NOW!" Ellie ordered Joseph to run to the edge of the roof, "Now we wait and yup." Just on cue, their secondary DPS grappled upon the walls surrounding the staircase and grappled in an arc towards the roof entrance, wanting to trade off their DPS immediately with a crazy wide swing at high velocity, he was confident in his pre-aim to the right side of the entrance to take out one of them. "JUMP!", Ellie shouted at Joseph. They both jumped off the roof right as their DPS flew out of the entrance, already firing like a madman in their direction. "He's pre-firing us as I expected~" Ellie rejoiced at getting her prediction correct.

The academy team's secondary DPS made use of his momentum to also jump off the roof, and performed an air-strafe to adjust his direction towards Ellie and Joseph. "JOSEPH press SPACE right before we hit the ground please.", "Isn't it obvious?" Joseph replied. Right before they could embarrassingly die of fall damage, they did a double jump and killed their momentum to land safely. "Follow me!" Ellie demanded of Joseph as they ran across a street filled with a whole bunch of debris. "Run in a Z or S pattern, alternate between them!" Ellie instructed Joseph as bullets came raining down from the roof which they jumped down from. Their movement minimized their damage taken, the academy players' aim were exceptional but even an experienced professional player would find it hard to trace and shoot at their movement exactly. Carlos, the opposition's secondary DPS flanked them from the side, shooting while running, making his shots inaccurate due to the movement. Joseph and Ellie made it to an isolated building that was very exposed and open with a somewhat functioning door.

"This is my favorite spot Joseph." Ellie told Joseph who was in the midst of entering the building through the door . He jumped in before the raining hellfire of bullets could hit him and immediately shut the door and told Ellie : "Your tricks are common Ellie, it won't work again after this round.". "I will show you another one." Ellie winked at Joseph who was looking at her outside of the game. She took out a frag grenade and looked above her. The building they were in had no ceiling at all, it was completely exposed and she watched the skies intently, seemingly about to execute something complex. "I have told you what to do right?" Ellie reminded Joseph. "I will peek when you say so." Joseph assured Ellie.

"This is a joke, we are losing to amateur players?" Carlos talked through his radio and informed his team of their embarrassing display. He did so while reaching the isolated building first, he hid behind an abandoned rusty car with broken windows while waiting for his team to rotate over. All of a sudden , a grenade flew down from the heavens and bounced in front of him. He panicked and immediately ran to gain momentum and slide across the open area. "PEEK!" Ellie screamed, the door opened and Joseph did not miss a single shot at all. "Bang bang!", again Joseph burst fired a couple of bullets and all of it landed on Carlos's head. Blood splattered on the ground as the kill feed updated Oliver, Danny and Flare of what was happening. "Holy s***!, they are actually doing it!" Danny exclaimed to Flare. Flare was very disappointed with his academy team and was wondering what the hell was happening to them.

"I can't expect to land every grenade, pro players especially won't let it hit them, so I use them as a way to make them move." Ellie told Joseph. "There is also a delay before he can fire accurately from this distance, he has to aim down his sights all while you are already prepared to spray him down." Joseph did not even try to act impressed and just said : "How about the rest? Are we gonna take them down 2v3 as well?", "No, now its relatively easy, let our team come." Ellie said while looking at her mini-map and grinned.

The three academy players who were left behind by Carlos ran through the open area to the building that Ellie and Joseph is at and was greeted by a spray down from Oliver who just arrived onto the scene with his LMG Solofire. Oliver took cover from the nearby buildings as the enemy players began to fire back at him. "Ouch! What a headshot! My light armor could only negate the headshot damage so much, let me take out my health potion" Oliver thought as he quickly took out his health potion and drank it. "Hey he is all alone! We should go after him!" the support player Ware ordered his team. They then proceeded to rush over to Oliver's location but Joseph peeked through the door again and started shooting at their exposed body. This brought enough time for Oliver to dash in between buildings and covers to run and gun, dealing a large amount of damage to all three academy players. Flare and Danny arrived onto the scene and moved towards the isolated building, Danny took out his plasma shield, allowing Joseph and Ellie to come out of the building and hide behind Danny's shield. Flare casted minor heals on both Joseph and Ellie, he brought 2 minor heal spells (10 points) as a support player. "Deja vu, this feels familiar Joseph! a 5v3 before choking and losing it all!" Danny reminded Joseph.

They closed out the game very quickly in a 5v3, the academy players could only do so much as they struggled to survive. "Flawless!" The game announced as Team A won the very first round unexpectedly against an academy team.
