Earlier, while the VMF went inside, Tyberson stopped his steps. He took a deep breath and lowered his head. Zan took notice of it. "Captain?"
Tyberson sighed. He scratched his head. "You can go on first."
Zan picked up that Tyberson didn't want to see the Princess. Was it from embarrassment?
Zan was puzzled. "Look here Captain, I have no business with her highness. If you don't want to see her then let's go back. But I doubt you would do that."
Tyberson looked serious. It was the face of someone restraining himself.
"Captain don't look at me like that. If you want to see her, let's just move. Come." Zan grabbed his arm and pulled him inside the room.
Tyberson was worried that the Princess would hate him. He failed his duty as a royal guard and may have gone too far with his actions. Mentally, he was not ready to see her. "Wait Zan!"
But before he knew it, he was already inside the room. He gulped as Adelia and Tyberson were staring at each other.
Adelia gasped. "Ty-Ty-Tyberson."
"Your highness."
Adelia bit her lip. She then left her bed and leaped to his embrace in which they hugged each other. Adelia cried her heart out on his chest. "Tyberson, I'm sorry. I should have listened."
Tyberson smiled. "It's fine. But your highness, I'm glad that you made it safe and sound."
Mark was staring at the warm scene.
Tyberson dropped his smile and had a serious look. He stared at Mark. "What do you plan to do with us now?"
Mark spoke nervously. This was his idea in the first place. "Ummm I heard We will be guests on a TV show."
"TV show?"
Lieutenant Mars cleared his throat. "Sir Tyberson and your highness, I understand the mindset that you have. It's normal for you to be cautious after you have been saved by an unknown country, am I correct?"
Tyberson nodded. "Definitely, I just want to know if we can return to our place safely."
"You will but we have a request."
Tyberson narrowed his eyes. He was wary of what request they wanted. Perhaps a ransom? No matter how kind they are, no country will ever let go of this opportunity. It was even possible they wanted to defile her highness. He musn't let it happen. "We... We will give you any gold you want, just allow us to contact King Vulhelm first."
"Gold? Hmm, for now, we don't have such thing in mind. Besides, you are a guest in our country."
Tyberson was surprised that they didn't want any money. In fact, they were given high end meals and high-quality treatment just for free. He was flabbergasted. They don't have the luxury to pay after all. But perhaps maybe their ruler have taken a liking to the Princess, it's very likely.
"Then I would like to see your highness, the ruler of this country first if he is worthy of Princess Adelia."
Tyberson was worried that there was a chance that the ruler of this country is a monster. Rulers and Tyrants have been known to be terrifying. With their military power, he could imagine the aura and arrogance of that ruler. "I'm just worried that your ruler might force Princess Adelia into a sudden marriage. But if it comes to that, please give us time to think."
Tyberson kneeled in front of them. "I beg you!"
Varg almost burst out from laughing. "President Melvin? He's an otaku who doesn't have any girlfriend. He won't be like that."
Tyberson was confused. "President? Otaku? What are you talking about?"
Lieutenant Mars smiled awkwardly. "You don't have to worry about any of that. We just want to ask you some questions and we can even escort you to your home."
Tyberson's face went blank since he was nervous for nothing. "Huh? What?"
Jessica Reyes stepped forward with her exuding confidence. It caused the men inside to blush just by seeing her. She smiled. "Alright guys, let's move. Our schedule will be 7 PM, we need to arrive at the studio on time."
The VMF escorted them and Mark hanged out with them even though he was off duty at the moment. But Mark was sweating, he gulped. Inside the bus, he sat beside Princess Adelia.
Varg was on the front seat, beaming a smile and thumbs up at him.
Mark was annoyed since obviously, it was him who set him up. But deep inside he was thankful that he had the chance to sit close with the Princess.
"Umm, can I ask for your name again?"
"Ma-Mark Sullivan." After he spoke his name, he couldn't carry on with the conversation. 'Damn it, this is what I get for being too introverted.'
When the bus started moving, Princess Adelia was surprised. "This compartment can move? I never knew moving houses were also possible."
Varg chuckled. "Your highness, this thing is what we call a car. It is powered by engines, pistons developed by humanity in the field of mechanical engineering."
"Varg, I didn't know you could speak that way besides teasing me," Mark remarked.
Varg cleared his throat. "I may not look like it, but before I joined the army I was a mechanical engineering student."
Adelia's eyes began to glow seeing these vehicles. She begged Tyberson. "Tyberson can we please get a car too? I really want one."
"No, no, not happening your highness. In the first place, we don't know how that works, for all we know it could be a demonic artifact."
Adelia's face went down. "Is that so."
Mark gulped. He took a deep breath. "Your highness, if you don't mind I have a car my grandfather no longer uses."
Everyone was in silence afterward. They stared at him awkwardly. Mark was starting to regret his words. "What I mean is, uh, you see."
Varg wheezed, he then burst out laughing. "Mark you moron. You're making me cry."
He sighed. "Be silent Varg."
Princess Adelia's eyes began to glow. She then held his hand. "Really?! I'm forever grateful! But, I don't feel like receiving it from someone without giving back the favor. I mean you saved me back then after all."
Mark's face began to blush. He felt her warm palm. He then shook his head. "Well, no need. This is just a gift from me."
Lieutenant Mars stood up. He then called Mark to talk with them in private. "Private, I need to talk to you about something."
When they were alone, Lieutenant Mars started. "Private, I understand your feelings but I nor the higher-ups will allow your decision."
"Huh? Why not Lieutenant?"
"They are strangers from another world. We can't just give out our technology for personal reasons. Well, unless the President allows it."
Mark was disappointed. "President Melvin, huh?" He was even motivated to meet with the President but even that would seem to be a lot of work. Since he was gone.
When Mark returned, he was somewhat down. He sat beside Princess Adelia.
Mark faced Adelia with a firm look. "Your highness forgives me but your gift will take some time."
Princess Adelia smiled. "Don't worry, I can wait as long as you want. To be honest, I'm not even sure if I should receive it. I don't know what to give back."
They were staring close at each other. Mark couldn't even form a word in his head. 'She's close.'
There was a clicking sound from the front seat.
When Mark looked in front he saw Varg taking a picture. He was grinning teasingly. "Perfect. This will look good in our documentation."
Mark got annoyed. "Hey Varg, you better not include it."
Lieutenant Mars stroked his chin with a smile. "Hmm, that might be a good picture on our front page."
"Hey Lieutenant, not you too."
Jessica took a look at the photo. "This could be good for our weekly event magazine, how about a romance between two worlds?"
The VMF spoke in unison. "Perfect."
As the bus continued moving, Adelia and Tyberson were staring through the bus window. The bustling traffic and the people walking around were a sight to see. The buildings towering over them also caused them to be in a daze.
"I didn't know cities look like this. Is this what the capital also looks like?"
Tyberson answered. "No your highness, this country is far from our own."
Eventually, they arrived in the studio. They were given seats, some make-up, and their original clothes. Tyberson wore his armor. They then sat on the stage as they faced the camera.
The VMF and the others were on the sides observing them with a smile.
Mark sat beside Princess Adelia and Tyberson. In front of them was Jessica Reyes that was about to interview them.
Mark was nervous. His arm shivered and he felt hot despite the AC inside the room. He calmed down and took a deep breath. 'I can do this.'
Jessica smiled. "Your highness, we will air in 5 minutes. Just to let you know, this will be seen by every Vesnian in the country."
Adelia was puzzled. "Huh? What do you mean?"
"Well just imagine everyone is watching this right now."
Tyberson was worried. He didn't want to let anyone see Princess Adelia since it might cause more issues. Especially if the nobles or Kings in this country were to fall for her, it might be her doom. "Will she be safe in the process?"
"Don't worry, this studio is very safe. In fact, the VMF is on stand-by if the worst-case scenario happens."
"What I mean was uhh..."
Adelia patted his shoulder. "Tyberson it's gonna be okay. I will be fine."
Afterward, the camera man began to make his signal.
Jessica then stared at the camera with a confident look. "You're watching VNN. You may not believe it but for today our special guests is unexpected. As you may have known Vesna got teleported into another world and here are the citizens of this world. Princess Adelia Vullhelm and Tyberson the Captain of the royal guard. We also have a representative from the VMF Mark Sullivan."
That night the citizens of Vesna were surprised. "No way."
"We got some people from the another world? And its the Princess?"
"Thats gotta be a hoax from the government no way she is really what the reporter says."
"Look at her hair color, it's beautiful."
"Are those ears real or are they just a cosplay?"
"Damn, I wanna marry someone like her."
The interview seemed to have went well that night.
