End Game

The citizens of Lemorio hid behind their doors. They were filled with fear as they could hear the chaos unfolding on the streets.

Goblins with their spears mercilessly skewered those that they came across. Those who ran had no escape since they were pursued by the rider goblins.

A giant goblin was chasing a woman carrying a baby, she gasped as she asked for help. "Anyone please."

When the goblin reached out for its hand to her, she was surprised. She wouldn't be able to dodge it in time.

Bang!

After a thunderous noise of a gunshot, the giant goblin quickly fell. Its forehead was holed by a bullet.

The woman was confused about what just happened, thinking it was a miracle she stood up and ran away.

Sting was in position. It seems the goblins have even reached these deep into the city. Still, they were yet to infiltrate the inner wall of Lemorio. Though to his surprise, he used his final bullet.

He then sighed and sat down.

On the gates of the second wall, the commoners and workers were denied entrance. Stubborn guards were yelling at them. "Why don't you shut up and go away!"

The people were desperate yet they were irritated. "Please help us! I have a child."

"Let us through! The Vallion Knights did nothing against the goblins."

"That's right, no one will protect us now."

The city guards spat on the ground. "Who the hell cares? You're disturbing us so why don't you leave!"

Usually, not even the commoners were allowed to casually enter the second wall unless they were given a pass. But this time, they wanted an exception since they wanted to survive the raid of the goblins.

Behind them, five goblins were approaching. The citizens were frightened. "Anyone help us!"

Then Teisha and Minnie appeared on the scene.

Teisha revealed her claws and jogged towards the goblin. Her movements were agile that when the goblin was about to stab her, she dodged. She then slashed them.

While their attention was on Teisha, Minnie was casting her spell. "Teisha buy me some time."

"You don't have to tell me that." She was fighting the goblins.

Minnie then cast her spell. It took her some time but afterward, she then shot out three ice spikes. She struck the 2 goblins on the chest, causing them to fall. As for Teisha, she slashed the remaining 3.

Teisha then panted from tiredness. To their surprise, there were more of those creatures.

A horde appeared of nowhere. They were riding boars, they chanted some gibberish shriek and were charging towards them.

They were fast, that they were coming at them in no time.

Minnie was frozen in fear. "Eh?! What should we do?"

Teisha scampered across the street and grabbed Minnie up in her arms. She then moved swiftly to escape the goblin riders.

Spears were also thrown in their direction. She moved in a zig-zag manner as though to evade each incoming throw.

Minnie was still worried. "What about the citizens?"

Teisha gritted her teeth since she didn't even know what to do.

"For Lemorio!" There was a yell coming from nowhere followed by the noises of the horses' gallops.

Both girls were puzzled. They hid in the alleyway and observed for now.

Vilg Han was leading an army of ordinary men who were riding horses. It was the Spear Fall Brigade and their recruits. They charged directly at the goblin riders with their swords held up high.

The citizens were relieved to see them. "We are saved!"

"Thank goodness."

The Spear Fall brigade and the goblins exchanged blows. It took a toll on each side as the blood of both races was smeared on the ground. Bodies were also piling up steadily.

Minnie raised her lower lip and angrily approached the guards. "Hey, what's your deal? Open the gates and let everyone through"

"Shut up woman. You have no business here."

"Huh? Don't you know that I'm a well-known adventurer, a member of Rezan's team?"

"Who the hell cares."

"Is that so, then you have no problem if I let her go wild." Minnie then snapped her finger.

Teisha walked towards the guards silently. She then revealed her cowl and showed her bear ears atop her head.

The guards were surprised. "Be-beast man."

Minnie smiled. "So what do you say?"

The guards squealed from fear. "Al-alright!"

Since there were barely any guards in the area, they wouldn't be able to call for backup and suppress her. The guards had no choice but to open the iron gates, and everyone quickly poured in with the chance.

However, the flow of the battle was not going well. The brigade was losing more men than they could slay the goblins. Worse, the giant goblins appeared, they clumsily walked towards them.

Everyone got startled by its presence.

With an act of foolish courage, they still charged since they couldn't just abandon the citizens.

The giant goblin then swatted them like they were dummies. Their formation quickly fell.

Vilg Han had no choice but to retreat. "Men! Fall back!" He could not believe that it was now their end. Though he was successful in his campaign of taking the collectors of the church, it seems he wouldn't be able to accomplish this mission.

He gritted his teeth and held tightly unto his sword "I can't believe this will be the end of our kingdom."

To their surprise, an iron rocket from the sky fell. It struck the giant goblin with one large explosion.

"This is Hunter unit-7, the targets are the green creatures, over."

"Affirmative, over." A radio spoke.

Earlier...

When the bright flash of light was seen piercing the sky from miles away, everyone in the Fort Wind airbase went busy. Lieutenant Mars smiled. "So that's what it was, huh?"

Before, Razin quickly notified the military and the grey house regarding the information. They were glad to hear that Melvin was alive and doing well.

AH-64 attack helicopters were already readied.

The foot soldiers also prepared their weaponry and rifles. They wore their camouflage suit and took their helmets in the barracks.

After a roll call, they then entered the helicopters.

When everything was set, the rotors simultaneously rotated. They then hovered up and were heading to the designated location.

The music the ride of the valkyries was played while on their way.

The helicopters then u-turned to get a good position to strike. They fired missiles towards the goblins in the open area though it damaged some of the roads.

However, when the civilians were on the perimeter, they aimed well at the goblins and used an M-60 to take care of them.

"This is Alpha, the enemies at the inner north are neutralized, over."

As for the flying vultures, they were shot by the helicopters roving the air. They fell easily like they were swatted flies.

"Flying enemy units are neutralized, over."

"Roger."

The bullet shells were falling like rains as they mowed down the goblins one by one. There were VMF foot soldiers who roved the alleyways. They came down via transport helicopter.

They hid on the corners first and then peeked on the streets. When the coast was clear they advanced slowly with their rifles on their chests.

The civilians were baffled who these people were. They were more confused than they were glad they got saved.

"Who are they?"

"I don't know, but they sure have the power to fight against the goblins."

There were VMF foot soldiers also sent on the streets.

One VMF soldier came across a wounded little girl. Her arm was broken and she was crying. "This is Charlie, I found some injured civilian, requesting medical assistance ASAP, over.

The child felt fear since it was the first time for her to see his suit. "Wh-who are you Mister?" She sniffled.

The VMF soldier didn't understand her, so he smiled and gave her candy so she could feel at ease. "It's fine, everything is going to get better, okay?"

As the helicopters came across the giant goblins, it struck its face with a missile. Its messy skull exploded and its entrails and blood splattered outward.

They easily fell one by one.

Vilg Han dropped his jaw as he saw the mighty iron dragons that flew the skies. "Wha-what's going on?"

One of his men approached him. "Commander, it seems we are winning."

Near the northern area, the civilians were running amok. There was a crowd of them that wished to flee the goblins.

To their surprise, some men wearing a green camo appeared, they used their rifles to rain the goblins with their bullets.

Gunshots pierced the air the moment they encountered the goblins.

Only their corpses were left on the ground.

The people didn't know whether to celebrate nor to feel fear but they were thankful that they were saved. They were in awe seeing the mighty power of these men.

The VMF's shattering gunshots could be heard across blocks and streets. Their power was beyond what they could imagine.

Though outside the city walls, there were still hundreds of thousands of goblins that have yet to infiltrate the city.

Fighter jets dropped their napalm bombs upon the goblin army, slowly but surely swallowing them with an explosion.

Their numbers easily dropped as they helplessly get devoured by the blasts. Smokes plumed up.

Even the Goblin King wasn't found after the smoke had settled.

The explosion sent a shockwave to the city at that time.

AH-64 attack helicopters fired their built-in cartridge and rained down bullets upon the sparse goblins that weren't take care of.

The goblins tried to fight back by throwing their wooden spears. One chopper got hit but the spear got deflected. They were then shot down by the attack helicopters.

"This is Destroyer, the enemy outside the wall has been neutralized over."

The city guards on the ramparts were frozen the entire time they were watching. The overwhelming number of goblins were easily wiped out by these iron dragons. Naturally, that number of goblins could take over an entire country. Yet for these people, they were like ants.

It was the first for them to witness such an event.

On the wall, the city guard was watching one VMF inside the chopper.

The VMF soldier gave a weak smile and saluted to him.

The city guard was just in a daze.

The Vallion Knights chuckled from breakdown. They then dropped their swords and fell on their knees. "Looks like I'm gonna quit the order after this."

Later after the fight has subsided, several goblins' corpses were left on the streets. Most people were now at ease. They were even glad to these black-haired men in green suits.

The nobility have gathered inside the castle halls. The most influential houses were there, including the lords and noblemen.

Some wanted to oppose the declaration of the new King. Though after that country was saved by that ruler, they had no choice but to accept it. Besides, it was the King's wishes.

The King had distant relatives among the nobility since he didn't have any close ones.

The King promised to write a will he would personally write for his heir of this Kingdom. They never thought that the throne would be passed to a stranger.

Everyone saw what occurred after all. Their military might far surpass those of their own. The goblins that stomped them were like flies from those men in green.

The remaining King's guards all lined up beside the carpet. Their swords held up high as though making a path for the new King.

The nobles were nervous and at the same time curious. Hoping the status quo was still ensured with this new King's reign. They were hopeful since if the new King was mad and tyrannical, they would have been already killed off.

"As long as I can keep my title, I don't care who sits on the throne."

The VMF was also on the sides. They then saluted at the new incoming King. Since these powerful soldiers respected the King, he must be terrifying.

However, they were surprised when it was someone they knew. Melvin calmly strutted on the royal carpet, he was now heading to the golden throne. He then waved at the nobles with a firm smile. "Well, well, it looks like I missed this place."

The nobles' jaws were dropped. They couldn't believe what they just witnessed. Their heart just sank after most of them put him into a hard time.

A baron came forward. He then read a royal scroll. "Before the King's death, he wrote a will and royal decree to make Melvin Clyde as the 34th King of the Rezgareth Kingdom!"

Melvin then smiled. He then sat on the throne. "Well now, don't worry since I will change this country for the better. I hope we can work together to achieve our goals."
