Chapter 3 Recruiting

Paul: "Daz Bonez"

Daz: " You know me?"

Paul: "I heard you're pretty strong, and you owe me lunch."

Looking at Daz Bonez, he was surprised that he's here and was not recruited by crocodile yet. Daz Bonez before being recruited into Crocodile's organizatin Baroque Works, he was a famous bounty hunter and was deemed the name "The Killer".

Paul: " Do you know Baroque Works?"

Daz: " They wanted to recruit me, but I'm still thinking about it"

Paul: " I see, but how about this though. Let's have a match. If I win you will join my pirate crew."

Daz: " Why would I be a Pirate and join you"

Paul: " Because you are strong. Baroque works is about creating a utopia through certain means right, well that's not gonna happen unless a person is gonna become the strongest in the world, and that's my goal hehe".

Surprised at Paul's ambition and what he knew about Baroque works, he grew slightly interested in the man before him.

Paul: " So, how about it Daz, deal?"

After a moment of pause.

Daz: "Deal"

As this whole situation was going on the crowd was still frozen from this encounter and conversation, they did not know what to do. Daz Bonez to the people in West Blue, his name was famous as an assassin known for his stealth and expertise. But who was this other person that Daz Bonez was talking to. Why have they never heard of him.

Paul: " My name is Paul. Brantley D. Paul, let's start."

Facing Daz, Paul did not let his guard down. With Daz's devil fruit, Supa Supa no Mi fruit, which turns his body into a blade, he can't just use his regular dragon claws and must use his armament haki to deal real damage.

'clang' the two clash. After the initial clash. When the blackish azure colored claws clashed with the bladed arm, it caused Daz Bonez to take two steps back while only made Paul take half a step back. In this initial collision, it seems that Paul has the advantage in terms of brute force. Seeing the difference in brute strength, Daz began to take their battle more seriously.

Both moves caused an intense air blast from their collision once again and separated at a few distance apart. This time with this clash Daz felt an ache in his hands. Daz was surprised that the person before him could cause damage to his steel like body. In West Blue there wasn't much people who could cut steel let a lone crush it.

Judging from the two collisions, Paul knew that although he was stronger than Daz, if he doesn't make a more powerful move than this battle may take awhile and he still wanted to look for Nico Robin. Since Daz already got the invitation, than Robin probably got it too.

Paul: " Try not to die Daz"

Daz: " hmph"

Paul leaped backwards and then lightning started to circle around his dragon claw. He then bent down in a runner's position and was slowly manipulating the earth beneath him. Great pressure starting to emit around him and it looked like he was slowly sinking into the ground.

When Daz saw what was happening, he was very surprised and knew that this was going to be a strong attack. He too started to prepare his attack. Blades started to form at the bottom of his feet and hands as he also got into a runner's position that was meant to sprint him forward.

Then suddenly, boom the ground beneath Paul propelled him forward with his electric claws swinging through. His speed was the fastest Paul has ever went and created a great momentum for such a short distance. Daz also erupted with speed as sparks at his feet and steel bladed hands.

Paul: " Heavenly Slash"

Daz: " Atomic Spurt"

At the moment, with Paul's strength he was unable to manipulate the ground as he please, but he is at least able to manipulate the ground that is just beneath his feet.

'clang' the collision occurred and the two cut through each other.

Standing with their backs towards one another 'puchi' blood gushed out from Daz's body. Paul smiled.

Paul: " welcome to my pirate crew, first-mate Daz"

Daz: " haha, it'll be a pleasure working with you"

Daz then collapsed on the ground. Watching the intense battle that had just occurred the crowd watching the fight were astounded with the two's strength, especially Paul who was currently unknown to the world had beat the famous West Blue bounty hunter.

Paul picked up Daz and went into an Inn so the two can rest and then they can continue their journey the next day.

Paul: " Store"

Paul went towards the one piece skills section. During this clash, he knows that he needed a little more battle power and found what he wanted. The Rokuogan. Although he has haki, that only empowers his current strength and abilities. His armament haki is not at the level like Raleigh where he can bypass the defense of something without touching something. Since Paul got the system, he doesn't need to go through the stubborn process of learning all of the other Rokushiki techniques and can just learn it directly.

Rokuogan- This move is said to be only used by a person who has mastered all Rokushiki techniques. It acts like an impact dial or reject dial in which bypasses defenses of someone who is immune to blunt attacks and sends a shockwave through the body.

With only 300 points left he decided to save it for now.

Going over the new skill in his head, Paul was getting excited about creating a new move. He needed to get used to this ability though because the information in his mind requires him using both fists to send the shockwave through. He eventually wants to master it to a level where he he can use it frequently with just one hand. Something like that will take a while though.

After sorting through his thoughts, he went to sleep on his bed.

The next morning, Paul woke up to the scene of Daz training and stretching his body.

Paul: " Are you ready, to go?"

Daz: " Yes. What are you plans"

Paul: "hmm, I want to find Nico Robin, after that, we can head to the grand line, do you anything about Nico Robin?"

Daz: " Yes, she should be escorted by Baroque works today and leaving today's port."

Paul: " what... lets hurry and go meet her then"

The two left the Inn in a hurry. Although the identities of the people in the organizations are kept secret until meeting up, Daz did his homework, the only thing he couldn't find was the identity of the organization's leader. Rushing to the port, The two quickly got on their ship and set out to sea.

Paul: " Which way"

Daz: " We were to be escorted and meet up at rouge town which is the island before crossing the red line."

Paul: " Alright let's hurry"

After half a day of sailing, Paul saw a lone ship that was getting surrounded by several marine ships.

Marine captain: " Stop, we have received reporting of several eyewitnesses that Nico Robin is aboard on your ship. Stop your ship so we can search for the criminal."

Waiting for a response, the marine was about to shout again until 'boom' the ship's cannon shot at the marine ship.

Marine captain: " attack destroy that ship"

'bang' 'bang' several cannons got shot back and forth and the lone ship carrying Nico Robin got struck and was starting to fall apart.

As Paul was watching this he tried to find something to put on. No, he was trying to come up with a name for his pirate crew. Shanks had red hair shanks. Edward Newgate had Whitebeard, Kaido were the beast pirates, Charlotte linlin was big mom. He wanted an op sounding name. Paul was just gonna go with chaos pirates... yeah might as well.

Paul jumped and flew into the air and flew over the boat and saw Nico Robin.

Paul: " Hey, forget about Crocodile and come join me. Or else you're gonna get captured here."

Robin: " You know who's behind Baroque works and still want me to join you?"

Paul: " Yep, I am strong, let me show you the path to your dream"

Robin looked at Paul with a solemn face, not knowing what to do.

Robin: " Fine, it's better than getting captured here anyways"

Paul: " haha, you won't regret this."

Paul swooped down and picked her up. He then flew back to his ship and dropped her off.

Paul: " Wait here, I'll be right back."

Paul then took off again, this time he flew towards the marine ships.

Marine Captain: " Stop, Identify yourself and hand Nico Robin over"

Paul: " Paul, captain of the chaos pirates. Nico Robin is now part of my pirate crew."

Seeing Paul identify himself and wanting to harbor Nico Robin.

Marine Captain: " So be it then, you can die first pirate. FIRE"

Cannons from several ships started shooting at Paul, but he was too fast. As Paul was flying, he coated his fists with armament haki and lightning and then stuck them forward like superman when he's flying. 'boom' 'boom' 'boom' He flew straight into the marine ships destroying them in one go with his strength. He continued flying and destroying all of the marine ships with few survivors.

Landing back on his ship

Paul: " I'm back, pretty strong right. Did you guys already introduce yourselves"

Nodding their heads Paul continued.

Paul: " Robin, for this pirate ship you don't need to participate in many fights, I will have you focus on providing intelligence for the crew while me and Daz should be able to hand the front lines. However, I will be teaching the two of you Haki. Any questions?"

Robin: " None"

Daz: "What is Haki?"

Paul: " It is using a type of energy in your body that can help you become stronger. It is separated into three different types. Observation Haki where it acts like a sixth sense and help you observe your surroundings and the people around you. Armament Haki which acts like an armor around your body or weapon. And Haoshoku Haki which enables you to overpower the will of another. To get these Haki, they can either be trained or naturally awakened through trauma. Got all of that?"

Daz: " Yeah"

Paul: " Alright we'll train on the way to grand line"
